One night Ozzie and his friend and neighbor Thorny were planning on going fishing the next morning. That night Ozzie is dressed in his pajamas and is ready for bed when he encounters his milkman coming in the back kitchen door delivering milk. The milkman suggests that Ozzie get a breath of cool fresh air outside for better blood circulation which will help him sleep better. When Ozzie tries to go back in the house, he gets locked out. He goes over to get Thorny to help and Thorny winds up getting locked out of his house too. So, to avoid waking up the families, they decide to fall asleep in the back of their station wagon in the garage. The next morning Harriet takes the car to town not knowing Ozzie and Thorny were in the back of the car. Harriet parks at the market and leaves when a few minutes later Ozzie and Thorny wake up. They're like how did they wind up there. They find a dime in the car to call at the phone booth for one of the family members to help him. The phone was busy and they go back to the car and Harriet had already driven the car away. They try to get out of one embarrassing predicament after another, with plenty of curious on lookers, in efforts to find a way home, when they wind up in a fisheries delivery truck somehow. When the delivery man discovers Ozzie and Thorny in the back of the truck, he thought it was some kind of fraternity prank. He was friendly enough to forget the whole thing and he even gave Ozzie and Thorny some left over fish that he didn't deliver. When Ozzie got home, cleaned himself up and he left the fish cleaned on the kitchen counter, he made Harriet and his sons think he had caught the fish making him look good.
