A long-running American talk show with additional news coverage. It was launched in 1966 by Pat Robertson's television station WYAH, and named after the 700 people who initially supported an annual fund-raising telethon which ensured the station's survival. The first permanent host of the program was the televangelist Jim Bakker, with his then-wife Tammy Faye Bakker as an eventual co-host. After the Bakkers departed the show in 1972, Robertson himself served as the main host. With the exception of a small hiatus in the late 1980s, Robertson continued hosting the show until 2021. The show's prominent co-hosts over the years have included (in chronological order) the evangelist Ben Kinchlow, the former foreign correspondent Danuta Rylko Soderman, the Scottish singer Sheila Walsh, the actress Susan Howard, and the beauty queen Lisa Ryan (former Miss California ).
