Nat smells an opportunity at work when a colleague gets caught in a scandal, and Christine's career ratchets up a notch. Ally, now finally able to seek out Gabriel, goes to him, only to discover he's in bed with Nat. Needing a new start, Ally and her children move house.

Tim and Spiros work to try and gain political support in his bid for Premier nomination as Spiros makes it clear to Christine that he wants to get to know her better. Ally has a one-night stand and the following day is bitten by a homeless man. Gabriel and Ally's relationship is far from cordial but have to deal with one another after she finds an old will of Vince's with Gabriel as executor.

Tim is devastated when he hears that the incumbent premier is to run again nullifying his chances and it is not helped by his interview to the media expressing his disgust. Later he is told by his party to take a job offered to him in Singapore. Meanwhile, Ally discovers she has no money available to her and that Vince left $50,000 to Tanya Hicks in his will. When she questions Gabriel he is evasive and so she goes in search of Tanya and finds that Tanya has a daughter. Elsewhere, Max's hearing test proves to be fine and Spiros tries seducing Christine again in her office.

Ally takes to sleep-walking after she invites Gabriel and his new girlfriend to dinner. Christine tells Tim she doesn't want to go to Singapore which leaves Tim with an uncertain future. Max asks Natalie can he live with her in the event that Tim and Christine leave. Spiros ups the pressure on Christine to start an affair and she eventually succumbs only to be caught by Max. Meanwhile, Joe conducts a séance with Gigi, Romeo and their friends to try and contact Vince.

Tim departs for Singapore but without Christine or Max. Ally confronts Tanya about Vince's payments into her bank account and finds that she and Vince had a daughter together, Ophelia, and had an affair for two years but he left her when Ally gave birth to Gigi. Nat tries to raise the profile of her relationship with Conrad by involving the paparazzi but it misfires on her. Elsewhere, Gabriel breaks up with Sophie and Gigi goes to see her half-sister Ophelia and causes panic for Ally when they cannot find her. Christine and Spiros have sex but are interrupted by Gigi's disappearance.
