He returns to his wife Alice a few minutes before the police arrive. Harry hides while his wife is taken to the police station. The police allow Alice to see the scene of the crime since she is desperate to find her husband innocent. Alice talks to the woman's doctor and later finds a note that convinces her it was a frame up. The police arrest Harry as he is trying to board a ship out of the country. Alice becomes convinced that the someone else was behind the murder. Eventually she figures out that the woman Harry met wasn't murdered at all. She was the murderer setting Harry up.
