What is the purpose of the Legion of Doom? This team of thirteen supervillains is dedicated to the cause of evil and to the elimination of good. They desire to be the rulers of the world, but they have one great obstacle: the SuperFriends. These eleven superheroes are dedicated to truth, justice and peace: everything the Legion hates most. But the leader of this nefarious group, Lex Luthor, has a scheme to eliminate the SuperFriends. He has invented the Dream Machine, which will cause the SuperFriends to rob the world's treasures overnight. When they awaken - they'll believe they've dreamt it all. Meanwhile, Bizarro and Cheetah have devised a way to turn everyone in the world into Bizarros and Cheetahs.

The Legion of Doom is in contact with an alien race called the Fearians from the planet Venus. Their plan is to change the Earth's climate to make it more like Venus and then invade. While the Legion wreaks havoc, the Superfriends stop them but unknowingly begin to alter the Earth's climate.

While working with astronauts in space, Black Vulcan, Wonder Woman and Hawkman are swept into a black hole and pulled into another dimension. They find themselves on a strange planet which is run by the Toyman and put into several dangerous games. The other Superfriends follow the Riddler's clues to try and find them.

Grodd invents an Interspatial Time Conveyor which he intends to use to rob history of some of its greatest treasures. In attempts to stop the Legion, Aquaman and Apache Chief are trapped in Prehistoric times, Green Lantern and Samurai become stranded in King Arthur's Camelot and Batman and Robin are left behind in Ancient Rome. This all leads to a final confrontation at Sutter's Mill.
Episode 5

While guarding an Astro Chemical Research Plant where a new energy source is being developed Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Batman and Robin are attacked by Cheetah, Braniac and Scarecrow. The Legion wins and the four Superfriends are captured and brought before the Legion for crimes against the Legion. They are found guilty and sentenced to fight Android replicas of themselves.

Solomon Grundy informs the Legion of a 'single source of all-evil power' which he believes is buried in the center of the Earth. The Hall of Doom soon drills down through the Earth in pursuit of this monolithic evil power. Unfortunately for the Legion it is guarded by a giant lava monster. They devise a scheme to fool the Superfriends into getting the power source for them. Superman, Hawkman and Black Vulcan soon have fallen into the Legion's trap and must fight for their lives in the subterranean labyrinth while the Legion wreaks havoc with the power source above ground.

Bizarro has a plan to combine three rare elements and create a ray that will turn the Legion into giants. Sinestro and Bizarro travel to the moon for one element while Captain Cold and Toyman travel to Athens for the second. The Superfriends stop them and capture the four without realizing this is exactly what the Legion wanted. They escape and use the Justice League computer to fuse the elements and create the ray. The four become giants and banish the Superfriends from the Earth and begin their plans of world domination.
Episode 8
Sat, Oct 28, 1978
Luthor's latest plan for defeating the Superfriends involves the time conveyor and returning to the past and interfering with the origins of three of the Superfriends. Cheetah travels to Paradise Island and beats Diana and Wonder Woman ceases to exist. Luthor intrudes on Hal Jordan's meeting with the space protector thus Green Lantern disappears. Finally the Legion prevents Kal El's rocket ship from landing on Earth and Superman is forgotten. With the Justice League crippled by the loss of their three strongest members the Legion attacks.
Episode 9

After an unsuccessful attempt to take over Gorilla City, Grod is anxious to try again. This time he uses Braniac's new Brain Wave Amplifier and hooks it up to the communication system in Gorilla City. The Legion soon has all of the Gorillas in their power. Batman and Robin, Flash, and Apache Chief respond to the emergency. They are captured, stripped of their powers and become the focus of a hunt. Meanwhile, the Gorillas responding to the Legion's orders begin the conquest of Africa.

The Legion of Doom spies an old witch walking through the swamp and confront her for being a spy for the Justice League. She assures them she is not and vows to give them power of great evil if they let her go. They agree and she contacts an evil demon who will grant the Legion the evil power if they give him the equivalent of good. They lure the Superfriends into the swamp and allow the Demon to capture them. He grants the Legion the power to control the dead and a zombie army arises to do the Legion's bidding.

While vacationing in Paris, France as Hal Jordan two trains are on a collision course in the Metro Subway. Before Green Lantern can save the day Sinestro does. A bank robbery in Gotham City is foiled by the Toyman and a dirigible disaster is prevented in Metropolis by Grod and Bizarro. The Legion of Doom seems to have become the Legion of Good. The Superfriends are puzzled by this change of events and the Legion couldn't be happier. They send the Hall of Doom into the future to the year 3984 where they will begin the conquest of the universe without interference from the Superfriends.
Episode 12

While fighting in outer space five members of the League and five members of The Legion of Doom are whisked away to a strange, unknown universe by a powerful alien known as Vartu. He pits the two forces against each other in individual contests. The winning side gets freedom and the losers are eliminated. The remaining Superfriends and Legion members team up to find the others and search nearby parallel universes.

The Toyman's latest invention is a device that can project someone into the pages of a story book. In this fairytale world the Superfriends are forced to interact with the characters of the stories. Toyman lures Hawkman into the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, Cheetah lures Wonder Woman into Alice in Wonderland and Brainiac lures Superman into the story of Gulliver's Travels. The device can also bring a person back but if you don't get out before 12 hours expire you can be stuck inside the book forever.

The Legion of Doom attacks America's greatest nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier, The Dauntless. The goal is to capture the ship and ransom it and the crew for millions. The Superfriends foil the attempt and Sinestro, Cheetah, and Black Manta are captured. The Legion leaves without them and the three swear revenge against them. While in the Justice League detention cells they overhear of the Army's newest weapon... a Mental Matter Ray which can alter reality and reform it into any shape. They want to capture it and use it against the Legion.
Episode 15

The Superfriends are in mourning for the loss of Batman at the hands of the Riddler. They reflect back on the last few days to try and figure out how this tragedy happened. The Legion of Doom has dug up an element called the Noxium Crystal. It contains all the necessary elements to destroy all of the Superfriends. Soon Wonder Woman and Superman also fall due to its deadly power. The Legion gives the remaining Superfriends just 24 hours to leave Earth forever or fall victim to the Noxium Crystal.

Episode 16

The Earth appears to be deserted and everything in ruins. Three aliens land on Earth and try to piece together what has happened. They play back history tapes in the Hall of Justice and learn the origin of the Legion of Doom. When they play back the Legion's history tapes they discover that Luthor launched an Ion powered rocket at the sun creating a solar flare which the Superfriends were unable to stop. The aliens must decide whether they should use their powers to help avert this disaster.
