Episode 1
Meet AdRia-an 8-year-old Carnival princess and published author from Scarborough, Ontario. With proud roots in Trinidad and Tobago, AdRia introduces us to the Trinidadian flag and shares her passion for Caribbean culture. We get a glimpse of her many talents as she showcases her awards in acting, modeling, and carnival dancing, before heading to dance class to show off her best Soca moves. AdRia even gives us a mini-lesson on how to "jump and wave" like a true masquerader. The adventure continues at a local book fair where her very own storybook, AdRia Carnival Princess, is on display. The day wraps up with a delicious stop for pholourie - a traditional Trinidadian snack - and a surprise at home that leaves AdRia speechless when a special inspirational guest appears with a message just for her.
Episode 2
Meet Joshua-a 10-year-old Canadian-Jamaican-Grenadian from Ottawa who has serious skills on the court and in the community. He is a DJ, mas player, and future basketball star who brings the Caribbean vibes to life each year at Carivibe Festival in the heart of the ByWard Market. From waving flags and rocking costumes to crushing spicy food and spinning tunes, Joshua is all about repping his roots with pride. After the festival fun, it is game time with his best buds on the basketball court-where he proves he is a champ in sports *and* friendship. Back home, Joshua shows off his soccer and basketball trophies and reminds us why school matters: it is all part of the dream. Just when the day winds down, a surprise message from a real pro gives him the boost to keep aiming high-on and off the court.
Episode 3
Sirena is a 10-year-old from Montreal who is super proud of her Haitian and Dominican Republic roots - she even paints the flag colours on her nails. She and her best friend show off cool dance moves like the Dominican Bachata and Haitian Kompa. Sirena loves modelling too and cannot wait to show off her traditional dresses from both cultures. She gives us a peek into her room full of gymnastics medals, then heads to training where she flips and flies through the gym like a champ. After all that action, she grabs a yummy bite of Dominican-style fried plantain - salty or sweet, it is always delicious. Just when the day could not get better, Sirena gets a surprise message that inspires her to keep dancing, dreaming, and doing what she loves most.
Episode 4
Itafari is a 9-year-old from Laval, Quebec who is proud to be Canadian, Haitian, and Jamaican. He shares a room with his brothers and fills it with music, building blocks, and graphic novels. Inspired by his hero Bob Marley, Itafari dreams of becoming a reggae artist. He takes us to the salon to care for his locs and teaches the 5 cool stages of locs and where they come from. Always curious, he gives fencing a try and learns to use a foil like a pro. Then it is off to the kitchen with Dad to whip up his favourite vegan Ital soup full of veggies and flavour. The day ends with a fashion show where Itafari and his siblings shine on the runway, celebrating Black heritage and style with confidence and pride.
Episode 5
Harris is a proud 12-year-old Canadian-Ghanaian from Clarence-Rockland, Ontario who loves sports, dancing and his culture. He plays Ampe with his family, shows off his medals, and cooks his favourite Ghanaian meal, Tuo Zaafi with Ayoyo, with his mom. Dressed in his stylish fugu, Harris dances the Azonto before heading to soccer practice, where he works hard to achieve his dream of playing for Canada or Ghana one day. His day ends with a surprise message from a role model that fires him up to keep chasing his goals.
