Sunny's Quest features first-person stories told by Black children across Canada. Each episode showcases a different child and their unique perspective on their day-to-day hobbies, their talents, and their heritage. Some of the amazing children we meet include a 10-year-old Canadian hockey prodigy from Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose family hails from Zimbabwe and the Netherlands and 8-year-old Nigerian immigrant twins, who explore the history of Black Nova Scotians at the Africville Museum.

Episode 1
Meet AdRia-an 8-year-old Carnival princess and published author from Scarborough, Ontario. With proud roots in Trinidad and Tobago, AdRia introduces us to the Trinidadian flag and shares her passion for Caribbean culture. We get a glimpse of her many talents as she showcases her awards in acting, modeling, and carnival dancing, before heading to dance class to show off her best Soca moves. AdRia even gives us a mini-lesson on how to "jump and wave" like a true masquerader. The adventure continues at a local book fair where her very own storybook, AdRia Carnival Princess, is on display. The day wraps up with a delicious stop for pholourie - a traditional Trinidadian snack - and a surprise at home that leaves AdRia speechless when a special inspirational guest appears with a message just for her.
