In the premiere show of the new season, the 14 new contestants meet their dance partners for the first time. Plus there are professional routines including an American Smooth performed by Darcey Bussell and Ian Waite, and music from MIKA.

Week One: Show One

The first six celebrities of the new season take to the floor and perform either a Waltz or a Cha Cha Cha.

Week One: Show Two

The remaining 8 contestants perform for the first time, either a Waltz or Cha Cha Cha. Johnny's partner Aliona badly damaged her ankle during training so Johnny was partnered with guest dancer Iveta. With no elimination this week the judges scores are carried over to week two, with Lisa and Robin currently top of the leader board with a score of 30, and Victoria and Brendan bottom with 16. There is also a pro dance.

Week Two

All 14 couples perform for both judges scores and for the first time, viewer votes. When last weeks judges scores are added to this weeks, Louis and Flavia, and Denise and James are joint leaders with a score of 57 out of 80, with Michael and Natalie, and Nicky and Karen joint bottom with a score of 35.

Week Two: The Results

In the first results show of the new season, Johnny and Iveta, and Richard and Erin find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dance off. There is a special pro-dance plus music from special guests Scissor Sisters.

Week Three: Strictly Does Hollywood

The 13 remaining couples perform a Hollywood themed dance to stay in the competition. There is also a pro dance. Denise and James find themselves top of the judges leader board with a score of 32 for their Toy Story themed Foxtrot, while Sid and Ola are bottom with a score 17 for their Rock of Ages themed Tango.

Week Three: The Results

After the judges scores and public votes are taken into account, Jerry and Anton and Michael and Natalie find themselves in the bottom two and have to take part in the dance off. There is also a tap sequence from the cast of West End musical Top Hat, plus music from Dionne Warwick.

Week Four: Halloween Special

In a Halloween edition, the remaining 12 couples perform spooky, horror themed dances for the judges. There is also a scary pro dance to the song Thriller. Receiving the first 9's and the highest score of the season so far, Louis and Flavia are top of the judges leader board with a score of 35 for their Tango, while Sid and Ola are bottom with a score of 17 for their Ghostbusters themed Cha-Cha-Cha.

Week Four: The Results

There is a scary group dance, plus music from special guest Paloma Faith. When the public vote is added to the judges scores, Sid and Ola, and Colin and Kristina find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dance-off.

The remaining 11 couples perform for the judges. Denise and James land top of the judges leader board with a score of 35 for their Vienese Waltz, while Richard and Erin find themselves bottom with a score of 17 for their Foxtrot.

In the week five results show there is a male pro dance, plus music from special guests 'Andrea Bocelli (I)' and The Wanted. When the judges and public votes are counted, Richard and Erin, and Colin and Kristina find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dance off.

Hosted by Tess and Claudia, the remaining ten couples perform for judges and public votes. Denise and James find themselves top of the judges leader board with the highest score of the season so far for their Paso Doble (36), while Michael and Natalie are bottom with a score of 26 for their Salsa.

Week Six: The Results

In the week 6 results show there is a performance from the cast of Midnight Tango, plus music from André Rieu. When the judges and public vote are added together, Fern and Artem and to everybody's shock, Kimberley and Pasha find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dance off.

Week Seven: Wembley Special - Dancing Through the Decades

In the Wembley special there is a 'Through the Ages' pro dance, which saw the return of Aliona Vilani to Strictly after her ankle injury at the start of the season. Denise and James again got the highest score of this season, and the first perfect '10s' with a score of 39 for their Charleston. Jount bottom were Richard and Erin, and Victoria and Brendan with a judges score of 24.

Week Seven: The Results

There is a 1950's themed pro dance, plus music from special guests Girls Aloud and Kylie Minogue. Richard and Erin, and Nicky and Karen find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform in the dance off.

The four judges critique and score the eight remaining pairs. Victoria and Brendan find themselves bottom of the judges leader board with a score of 21 for their Salsa while Denise and James are top again with a score of 37 for their American Smooth.

There is a Michael Jackson themed pro dance, plus music from special guests The Script. When judges scores and viewer votes are added together Michael and Natalie, and Victoria and Brendan find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dreaded dance off.

The final 7 couples perform for the judges and viewer votes. Louis and Flavia find themselves top of the judges leader board with a score of 37 for their Charleston, with Michael and Natalie bottom with 24 for their Samba.

There is a pro dance and music from special guests JLS (as JLS) and Alfie Boe. Michael and Natalie again find themselves in the bottom two, along with Nicky and Karen, with Michael and Natalie finally leaving the competition.

Week Ten

In the Quarter Final, for the first time on Strictly, the six remaining couples have to perform a 'Fusion' dance: two styles of dance in one routine, to one piece of music. For the first time this season, Kimberley and Pasha find themselves top of the judges leader board with the first perfect score of 40 this season for their Cha Cha/Tango fusion. Nicky and Karen are bottom with a score of 27 for their American Smooth/Samba fusion.

Week Ten: The Results

There is an 'Alice in Wonderland' themed pro dance, plus music from special guest Michael Bublé. Again, Nicky and Karen, and for the first time Denise and James, find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again for the judges, with Nicky and Karen leaving the competition.

Week Eleven: The Semi-Final

The five remaining couples have to perform 2 dances each to take their place in the Grand Final. For the second week in a row, Kimberley and Pasha find themselves top of the judges leader board with a score of 78 for their two dances (including a second perfect score of 40 for their Charleston), with Lisa and Robin bottom with 63.

Week Eleven: The Semi-Final Results

There is a pro dance, plus a Jive from special guest Katherine Jenkins, who dances with her 'Dancing With the Stars' partner Mark Ballas. She also sings the Christmas song Santa Baby. Lisa and Robin, and for the second time Denise and James find themselves in the bottom two and have to perform again in the dance off. Tears all round as Lisa and Robin leave the competition one week before the Grand Final.

Week Twelve: The Grand Final

The first of the two part Grand Final sees a pro dance, plus each of the four remaining couples perform both a Judges Choice dance and their Showdance, with both Denise and James, and Louis and Flavia receiving their first perfect 40 scores from the judges for their Showdances.

Week Twelve: The Grand Final Results

The second part of the live Grand Final sees Dani and Vincent leave the competition (coming fourth), while the remaining three couples perform their favourite dance of the season. Denise and James receive their second perfect 40 of the night for their Charleston, while Kimberley and Pasha get their third 40 of the season for their Tango. Based on viewer votes only, Louis and Flavia are finally crowned 2012 champions. There is also a group dance plus music from special guest Robbie Williams.

Christmas Special

Six new contestants compete for the Christmas Glitterball. There is also a group dance from past contestants and champions, plus music from special guest Rod Stewart. JB and Ola come top of the judges leader board with a score of 39 for their Jive, with Bobby and Katya bottom with 29 for their American Smooth. When judges scores and audience votes are added together, the Christmas Champion is revealed as JB and Ola.
