Stanley is a desk clerk at a New York city hotel. A scalper talks him into taking two tickets to the opening night of the Metropolitain Opera, but he thinks they'll be hard to resell. He begs and badgers a visiting couple into taking them, only to then be threatened by gangsters to get them back.
