Spider

To go live with several computers onto the internet and show the viewers and lot of the things that internet could be used for in 1996. To explore new technology and show the viewers "what was to come later". In the autumn of 1996 NRK2 Spider had 100 megabit broadband, video telephone via internet (multicast backbone) and a lot of fancy technology. On the other hand, NRK2 Spider was not supposed to be a "learning program", rather a freak show with ideas from the fast pace television genre, which is why a lot of viewers got annoyed. Through the 16 first shows Norwegian Broadcasting nevertheless was able to show the viewers what direction internet was taking and, of course, a lot of the viewers also started to participate in the chatting, the "wheeling and dealing" with 3D graphic elements and the exchange of files with graphics and music.
