Guy Martin usually takes part in a challenge with a new and specially made machine to tackle his latest 'Speed ...' endeavor. This time it's different as the workhorse of his trade down the years, his beloved 'Ford Transit' van had been written off in an accident. However there is a chance of resurrection and his 'Transit' will rise from the ashes like a flaming phoenix in Guy's latest adventure, the 'Nevada Open Road Challenge'. We meet the brains and skilled engineers that will transform the written-off commercial van into an extraordinary racing machine, that few have seen the like of before. With such an extreme transformation and numerous difficulties along the way, this is a challenge even before Guy hits the infamous 'State Route 318' in Nevada. This time it's a speed trail with a 90 mile (144.841 Kilometres) long blast at an average speed of 150 mph (241.402 km/h) which means that Guy must complete the course in exactly 36 minutes. The winner is the competitor who can get as close to that time as possible. Just 1/1000th of a second could mean the difference between victory or defeat.
