Episode 1
Secretary Pearl Parker is tired of her boyfriend Fitz cheating on her. She sets up surveillance to find evidence to catch him out. Without work, Dennis asks her to find his missing girlfriend Sheila. So she and friend Finn investigate.
Episode 2
Pearl and Finn get their first case when lawyer Milly asks them to help Carol Jackson who is accused stabbing her husband to death. Carl Jackson had links to politician Jonathan Crawshaw by strong arming residents from their homes.
Episode 3
Pearl and Finn are put on a three month retainer by Milly's law firm Fraser-Millington. Mr. Stiunayake's building is set on fire and the police believe it's arson. Local councilor Paul Wilmot points them to towards Walfrew Investments.
Episode 4
Pearl and Finn come to the aid of Danny Taylor, who managed his daughters band Chaise L but have now been signed by Tony Freasen. He is angry that his daughters gave a newspaper interview saying he mistreated them.
Episode 5
John Foxton is a Union leader involved in a major strike at a car plant. He discovers that funds to support the strike have gone missing. Milly asks Pearl and Finn to investigate accountant and friend of Foxton, Trevor Mitchell.
Episode 6
Pearl is asked by Mr Cemal to retrieve his daughter's gold pendant which has been cheated off of him. The pair try to steal it back but are forced do a deal with the wife of the man who stole it. Fitz asks Milly to arrange his divorce.
Episode 7
Pastor George has noticed that money is missing from the church accounts and fears his niece Grace has stolen it. He asks Pearl to make a discrete inquiry. Finn is sleeping on Milly's floor so gets she her to find an AWOL soldier.
Episode 8
Fitz is given the opportunity to produce a Jenny Jerome benefit record. When the master tape is stolen, Pearl and Finn need to find Jenny Jerome's barge. However she is very paranoid and convinced that a man with a camera is following her
