At godforsaken Thompson airfield, the airplane and medical services form a co-housing small community, Serving several remote first nations (native people reserves) in Canada's Northwest Territories. Medical needs are as varied as a bear attack and a fall against an industrial fan. Indigenous nurse Crystal is supposed to mentor newbie Haley, but thinks it's another city girl aching to leave soon, only to find her committed; and the fellow villager Trevor not the poacher or worse she took him for. Popular pilot Bodie counts on a well-paid city-base with Air Canada, but confirmation doesn't come. Respected senior pilot Weezer is badly injured in a crash, due to excessive cargo without proper restraints.
