Episode 1
Annie, a young woman, wakes up on the morning of her birthday and is immediately met with the anxieties of who has texted her, who she will talk to, and how she will cover up her disdain for the day ahead. We watch Annie get ready while combatting the uncontrollable fears arising from "mundane" tasks. With each moment that passes there is another twist and turn to overcome on her journey. Post credits, a psychologist, neuroscientist, psychiatrist, and a person afflicted with anxiety give an in-depth explanation on the emotional turmoil that comes with anxiety, how to ameliorate the symptoms, and a path forward for greater connection, support, and compassion.
Episode 2
Dylan, a woman in her early 30s, was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder in college. Coming off medication without communicating with anyone, she spins into intense episodes that hurt those around her. She has to come clean not only about the medication, but the intricacies of her diagnosis that she has been keeping from others due to shame. She moves in and out of intense and uncontrollable symptoms from her continued episode.
Episode 3
Maggie has a problem. She is an alcoholic. But she's not quite read to say it out loud. After a particularly bad night that lands her in jail, Maggie is finally ready to admit that she needs help. After she hits rock bottom, she must learn how and what it means to be sober. In her recovery, she meets Michael, a lawyer and fellow recovering addict, and Sally, her sponsor, who show her that there is more to life than just numbing the pain. In "Five Things to Love" we follow Maggie as she claws her way back to the light through loss, friendship, love, art and her newfound strength.
