A computer programmer, Richard, develops a computer algorithm that compresses files like no other. Richard lives in a house full with programmers and works for a computer company called Hooli. When Richard shows his idea off, Gavin Belson, head of Hooli, offers him 10 million. While another billionaire offers him 200,000 for 5% of his company. Richard has to figure out whether he wants to sell his company right off, or stay with it and use the funding from Peter Gregory.

When asked by Peter Gregory for a business plan, Richard doesn't know what to do. Luckily, an employee that works for Gavin Belson, asks to work for Richard and his company Pied Piper, he accepts. While the employee, Jared, is working their, each person of the crew is asked on what they contribute to the group and problems arise. Meanwhile, his best friend Big Head warns him the people down at his last job, Hooli, are taking apart his algorithm.

Worse, is already legally reserved by a petty Midwest farmer for his son's sprinkler firm, so Richard tries to personal approach, with promising and scary results.

While preparing his Pied Piper presentation, nerve-wrecks Richard ends up shivering wet in his underwear, so he and Jason welcome and reward Ehrlich's offer to step in.
