Episode 1

Kevin Rugby

Told by her doctor that she is unhealthy Hannah joins a rugby team but falls foul of the captain, who accuses her of stealing her girlfriend and subjects her to an initiation which undoes her health plan. Dan gets a job as an office cleaner, befriending the down-trodden Kevin, whose wife has left him for her German teacher, but his attempts to help lead to arson, alienation from Kevin and joblessness.

Golden Aunt

Tired of being his mother's salsa partner - in exchange for his allowance - Tom warms to rebellious Aunt Leslie and agrees to help her take her revenge on an old boy-friend - though sadly for him she and the boyfriend are using him in a scam and he has cause to thank his mother for rescuing him. Hannah believes she is having a Golden Week when she gets a paid week off work, wins six free pizzas and gets to appear in a video with her R and B idol Zeff, though the effects of eating six pizzas take their toll during the shoot, with less than golden results.

Old Man Model

On a visit to hospital Dan befriends elderly, terminally ill Frank who regales him with stories of his global adventures. Hannah meanwhile meets the sexy underwear model Dylan through a dating site and is treated to the high life. However she feels threatened by Dylan's best friend and former lover Amy, another model, and to get rid of her plans a double date with Dan, though he is the worse for wear after taking liquid morphine with Frank and calamity results. So does Hannah's ultimatum to Dylan and Dan's decision to take Frank on one last adventure, to the funfair.

Gregg and Lily

The siblings' father Gregg throws a party to celebrate his engagement to human rights lawyer Beverley, pointing out to Hannah that he had not told her before as she wrecks all his relationships. To ingratiate herself with Beverley Hannah agrees to baby-sit her eight year old daughter Lily but unfortunately tries to coordinate a sleep-over for Lily's friends with a one night stand with their teacher Axel Foley, at which the girls see more of him than usual. Dan, working with his father's estate agency, does well by - almost accidentally - selling a property but inevitably ruins everything when asked to entertain Gregg's timber supplier Mr Yakamoto, whose fondness for cocaine and escort girls costs everybody dear.

Baby Sack

Hannah is asked to assist abrasive American consultant Georg Harper carry out redundancies in her office and gets so enthusiastic he offers her a high-powered job in New York. Dan, meanwhile, meets a heavily pregnant old friend Holly and, with the baby's father out of the picture, he accompanies her to ante-natal classes and ultimately proposes to her. Needless to say things do not work out for either of the siblings.

Jack's Wedding

Accompanied by Hannah Dan attends his friend Jack Plunk's wedding to the wealthy Ophelia at her family's grand mansion and, when the best man falls ill, steps into the breach, being uncharacteristically mature in persuading the nervous bride to go through with the ceremony. Hannah however recognizes Ophelia's brother Sebastian as having humiliated her in a stunt at university and determines to get revenge - which she does having caught the bride and her brother in a compromising situation. This so traumatizes Dan that he gives a truly bizarre best man speech and the day literally ends with a bang.
