Episode 1
Mary Briggs has just buried her husband so she can be with her lover Tony, son of Sir Roderick Trubshaw. Sgt. Cork gets a letter hinting at foul play and he discovers a number of bottles buried in her garden with one containing strychnine.

Episode 2
Cork and Marriott are called to the death of Stephen Lansing, the managing director of a prosperous gold mine in South Africa. The are six possible suspects but his wife Hester flees with John Hoskins following his attack on Bob Marriott.

Episode 3
Six Lancashire Weavers are to be hanged for murdering Sir James Gilbert. Big Ben Lewis MP is fighting their case but his reputation is ruined when 'The Globe' prints a letter about him living with Mrs. McArthur. Cork investigates the case.

Episode 4
Clerk Henry Jones is found dead holding blue prints for a new weapon. With three key pages missing, Sgt. Cork is brought in to solve the mystery. Manager Mr. Woolmer was the only person to hold a set of keys and lied about his whereabouts.

Episode 5
Policemen hear shots coming from a house and find a wounded army office. Mary Sanders next shoots a policeman. Mrs. Sanders was once a wealthy lady but a bitter divorce has left her penniless. When arrested she refuses to say anything.

Episode 6
A priest known as "Brother Edward" is beaten up. Marriott learns that Edward offers healing to the poor and needy. Rev. Wales thinks Edward is putting himself in grave danger by helping Rose by taking beatings from her protector, Powers

Episode 7
Sgt. Cork returns to Whitechapel to help with a spate of burglaries. Supt. Leavis is unconvinced by his methods. When Mrs. Whitby's house is robbed he arrests Mike Good but he gets off at trial. Cork knows his methods will get justice.

Episode 8
Mrs. Marie Vincent makes a complaint that Dr. Sneddon murdered her husband. He says her husband died of consumption but fails to mention he has gambling debts. After Sneddon and his wife visit her brother, Henry Cutts he is found poisoned.

Episode 9
Former actress Lily Sinclair has become a wealthy woman after the death of her army officer husband. When someone makes an attempt on her life, Bob Marriott is put on the case. He soon finds himself falling for the beautiful widow.

Episode 10
Bob Marriott is staying with Sir Hector Bundy when he receives a letter from his solicitor saying that his missing cousin, Freddie is claiming his title. Sir Henry invites him to his home but wants Sgt. Cork to find out if he is a fraud.

Episode 11
A registered package containing a pearl necklace worth £130,000 disappears between Paris and London. The necklace was sent to Paris but sale fell through. It was returned to London but contained sugar. Morgan and Marriett investigate.

Episode 12
A courting couple find the body of a prostitute, in a derelict beach house. Her forehead is marked with a letter 'S'. Sgt. Cork thinks it's a temporary hiding place, so puts Marriott on guard waiting for the killer return, at full tide.

Episode 13
Marriott goes undercover to find who is selling plans about a high velocity field gun, stolen from the War Office. The Minister only wants them to follow the blackmailer as they have employed an outside source to deal with the traitor.
