While the gang tries to hold a surprise birthday party for Zack, he is having trouble dealing with the bossy and snobbish Stacey, who tries to keep the gang off balance from their plans.

Zack hires a tall guy, named Gary, to tip the scales in their favor, while Gary shows an interest in Kelly. But when Screech accidentally breaks Gary's foot and he cannot play, Stacey steps in as the replacement.

But when Kelly wins, Stacey feels betrayed and jealous, and Carosi threatens to fire Zack.

While there, they discover Kelly's boyfriend, Jeff with a girl other than Kelly. Kelly needs to be told about her cheating boyfriend, but no one will tell her except Zack. Naturally, Kelly refuses to believe Zack when he tells her that Jeff is cheating on her. Next, Kelly demands that Zack get fake ID's for her and Jessie so that they may accompany the boys to the club to see for themselves what is going on. Consequently, Zack asks Screech to make fake ID's for Jessie and Lisa so that they may go to The Attic to catch Jeff in the act. Despite Kelly's woes, Zack hits it off with Danielle. However, after a wayward telephone call, Zack's mother finds out that Zack is doing something every evening that he should not be doing. Soon enough, both Kelly's and Zack's worlds are in for big changes.

When Mr. Carosi leaves town for the day, Stacey is put in charge of the Malibu Beach Club, and she and the gang must hold two conflicting parties simultaneously: a 50th anniversary for an elderly guest couple and a Sweet Sixteen for another girl. Meanwhile, Screech and Lisa go off in search for allegedly buried treasure on the beach, and with other greedy guests, they literally dig up the beach.

Zack tries to get even with sociopath Eric by setting him up on a date with Lisa and letting him drive Mr. Belding's new car so Zack can take a photo to blackmail him. But it backfires when Lisa drives the car instead and gets into an accident.
