Bear takes to the Californian Sierra Nevada with pop singer-actor Nick Jonas, a brave diabetic without relevant experience beyond snowboarding, over glacial crests and down. Otherwise healthy, eager youngster Nick does rather well on snow skis and as mountaineering apprentice, even rappels bravely while Bear demonstrates what slippery risks to avoid. Nick's obedience doesn't extend to defrosting Bear's kill, a small bird, intimately in his pants, but braving himself to gut it is rewarded with a tasty campfire dinner. Bear digs and covers for them a snow-dugout night shelter, tinier then cozy but vitally body-warm. Their last leg is most daunting: to reach the extraction point, the most cross a frozen lake within the adrenaline, trunks-only, and reboot respiration, extra fearsome for Nick due to his diabetes, but Bear's foot massage does the trick.
