First up is a ski trip at a remote, Alpine luxury spa packed with jet-setters. One guest is an arrogant son of a dictator, who assassinated a human rights champion, a law professor of Paul's. Paul spurned an offer to run for California Attorney General after getting his own death sentence. A suspicious avalanche severs the spa's ties with the outside world, causing the paranoid General Portaz and his bodyguards to quickly intimidate almost everyone, except a care-free, whip-tongued billionaire with a much-younger husband. Life-long bachelor Paul, and the macho General also vie over a beautiful young U.S. citizen. Which kills General Portaz first: Paul, an assassin, or severely hampered room service ?

Mrs. Henderson's desperate ploy to enter Soviet satellite Czechoslovakia, alerted the CIA to spy her. Paul spurned an offer to run for Attorney General to expand his soul before he dies, and he's supposed to stay in touch with his physician, in case a cure is found for his illness. Does the bachelor with no living relatives resume his Black Death tour of Europe, and will Paul's concern for the gorgeous, suicidal widow trump his patriotism?
