In Minneapolis, comedian Jesus Trejo dives into the life of Yemeni comedian, Ali Sultan. Ali's story unfolds as he recounts his childhood journey of immigrating with his single mother to the United States. Ali opens up about his battles with mental health and discovering the cathartic power of therapy, exercise and comedy. Through humor, Ali has not only found relief from his mental health challenges but also a platform to debunk stereotypes about the Arab world. Jesus joins Ali and his family for a traditional Yemeni dinner where they share stories, laughter, and provide a window into the culture that defines Ali. During their time together, we hear about Jesus' take on athletics, Ali's holistic approach to mental well-being and a journey on one of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.

Jesus embarks on a journey to Texas to meet with rising comedy star, Vanessa Gonzalez. Jesus Trejo travels to Denver, Colorado, to join Eeland Stribling, African American comedian and environmental biologist. Against the backdrop of the Rockies, Eeland invites Jesus into his world, blending humor and poignant observations about life in his hometown. The duo embarks on an adventure on the rocky terrain, where Eeland, drawing inspiration from his grandfather, introduces Jesus to the wonders of nature. Jesus joins Eeland on a river clean up with kids from the community where he sees firsthand his commitment to teaching kids about the wonders of nature. Eeland, an avid fly fisherman, and Jesus cast lines into crystal-clear streams, weaving laughter with tales of family traditions and the importance of finding true life balance.

In Chinle, Arizona, Jesus Trejo steps into the world of Native American comic and actor, Tatanka Means. Tatanka shares his stories about growing up on the reservation and how he uses comedy as a lens to unveil the ongoing struggles of Indigenous communities across the country. Tatanka takes Jesus to the local boxing gym where they lace the gloves up and jump in the ring. While Jesus shows off his own boxing style, he witnesses Tatanka's true grit, and hears the lifelong lessons he's learned in the gym. While Tatanka provides lunch for his community, Jesus hears first-hand from Tatanka's family about his father, Russell Means, a trailblazer who fought tirelessly for Native American rights and a legacy Tatanka carries on. The journey concludes with Tatanka, and his family being honored at the annual Navajo Nation rodeo and Jesus joining in a ceremonial gourd dance. The arena transforms into a stage of recognition, to celebrate Tatanka's rise to fame and dedication to serving the community.

Jesus Trejo heads to Portland, Oregon, to meet Adam Pasi, an aspiring comic with Samoan roots. Adam, on the brink of success, grinds hard, determined to do whatever it takes to become a successful comedian. His relentless pursuit is showcased by a three-show night where Jesus gets a front-row seat. Before the shows, Adam opens up about his late-blooming passion for comedy, and shares that comedy is the first pursuit he's ever thrown himself into. He also drops a bombshell- he will soon perform in front of his parents for the first time ever. Before the show, Adam invites Jesus to a family BBQ. They meet with fellow Samoan, Leo, who is helping Adam reconnect to his Samoan culture while Adam helps Leo become a comedian. Adam never worried about his Samoan culture in the past, but as he gets older it's become more of a priority. On his big night Adam delivers jokes that not only resonate with the audience, but also with his proud parents. After the show, Jesus shares with Adam that his father expressed genuine pride during the show. Jesus and Adam are on a journey of self-discovery, familial bonds, and the pursuit of dreams in the unpredictable world of comedy.
