In Kincasslagh, West Donegal, Dermot accepts a challenge to upgrade and reconfigure Irish heart throb singer Daniel O'Donnell and his wife Majella's four bed detached home which they bought 11 years ago and is now in need of a facelift and some modernisation. Dermot and Lisa have a budget of 150,000 to 200,000 Euros to work with so sacrifices will have to be made to complete the project.

Nine years ago Dave and Susie Horan bought a three-storey 170-year-old home in Fermoy, County Cork, which was once the couple's dream home until it needed upgrading to make it the ultimate ideal family home. Dave was a globetrotting managing director of a successful family firm which he sold to spend more time with his family. Dermot's challenge is to redesign the interior and extend the building to create a 5 star luxury hotel style dream home including a gym, swimming pool, and a sauna, all on a budget of 650,000 Euros.

IT manager Christine has bought a Victorian terraced house in Clontarf, North Dublin, and she wants to revamp the home, but her desires for the renovation exceed her limited budget. Her wish list runs to 22 pages, including a vast array of scrapbook pictures from fashion magazines. Dermot has a real challenge on his hands with an unrealistic budget of 130,000 Euros, something Quantity Surveyor Lisa O'Brien agrees with. However structural problems pushes the budget far beyond Christine's expectations.

Dermot visits the seaside village of Portrane in North Dublin to meet sisters Anna and Marion Lynders who want their elderly mum's cottage 'Quay House', where she has lived for 58 years, converted into a larger home suitable for the whole family, including Anna's son Michael. The sisters live three miles away in Donabate and want all three generations under one roof at an extended Quay House. The house sits on a peninsula overlooking Lambay Island but has no sea views, something that Dermot wants the conversion to provide. Can he complete the project on a budget of 250,000 Euros.

New parents website designer Cliona and IT manager Micheal have recently returned to Ireland after spending 12 years in London and have already spent 30,000 Euros partially renovating a 1950s semi-detached at Killester in North Dublin in their own distinctive rough and ready industrial style. Faced with the limitations of a 150,000 Euro budget, can Dermot reconcile Cliona's edgy interior design aesthetic with his own vision of how the house should look.

Dermot tackles a 100-year-old farmhouse renovation which dairy farmer Padraig and schoolteacher wife Katie inherited from from Padraig's uncle. The house is cold, damp, wet, crumbling and internally rotten and it's going to take a lot of money to put it right. But right from the start Katie is opposed to most of Dermot's proposals including 'open plan' designs, preferring instead a series of small enclosed old fashioned rooms. Will Dermot be able to win over an intransigent Katie with a compromise on a budget of 220,000 Euros.

At Stillorgan in south Dublin, Dermot Bannon attempts to bring a vision of Malibu style living to a 1960s suburban home belonging to clients Lorna and Rory. His plan is to create an extension into the back garden to give a spacious contemporary area which compliments the old style of the house. Lorna and Rory have decided to demolish and rebuild the outdated first floor balcony at the front, upping the budget from 180,000 Euros to 290,000 Euros. Can Dermot give them their dream home on budget.
