Dara O'Briain and Angela Scanlon host the launch show for this reboot of the series in which radio-controlled robots created by teams of amateur engineers battle it out in an arena. Kill-E-Crank-E, Nuts, Razer and Terrorhurtz compete in Group Battle 1, while Behemoth, Bonk, Carbide and The General compete in Group Battle 2. Two robots will progress from each of these battle royals to face each other in a round-robin series of head-to-head contests before the top two 'bots meet in the heat final. New robots built by students from Reading and a family team from Caithness are among those to compete against familiar competitors from past series such as Razor and Behemoth.

Dara O'Briain and Angela Scanlon host more robotic combat from the arena in this reboot of the popular show. Discontructor, Shockwave, Thor and Tough As Nails compete in Group Battle 1 and Draven, Foxic, Mr Speed Squared and Chimera face each other in Group Battle 2. Two 'bots from each group will progress to a round-robin head-to-head phase to determine the two teams who will face-off in the heat final. An untested robot built by a cardiologist and his two sons makes an impact while a builder from Northampton unveils his impressive-looking robot Thor, which is sporting a ruddy great axe. One of the tournament judges, Professor Sethu Vijayakumar, talks about the work he has been doing for NASA - designing robots that could one day travel to Mars.

Episode 3

Dara O'Briain and Angela Scanlon present the third edition of the new rebooted series in which remote-controlled robots designed and built by amateur engineers face each other inside the arena. Overdozer, Dantomkia, Glitterbomb and King B Remix compete in Group Battle 1, while Big Nipper, TR2, Orte and Supernova face each other in Group Battle 2. The show features the usual eclectic mix of robots, including one designed by a nine-year-old girl that features a large, pink axe. In a first for Robot Wars, a team of students from Falkirk in Scotland have entered a 'bot that is made of wood, powered by a petrol engine and is equipped with what appears to be the outboard motor off a boat as its main weapon. A family-built entrant features an innovative weapons system featuring interchangeable titanium weapons that have been made from parts scavenged from local scrapyards.

Episode 4

Dara O'Briain and Angela Scanlon present the fourth heat of the robot fighting series. Competing in Group Battle 1 are Apollo, Kan-Opener, PP3D and Sweeney Todd, while Eruption, Sabretooth, Storm 2 and Terror Turtle clash in Group Battle 2. Another off-beat selection of 'bots include Apollo which is a powerful 'launcher' robot designed and built by a team of former holiday camp staff. Kan-Opener is a robot equipped with large piercing claws built by a father and son team. In another first for the show PP3D has been built using a lot of parts created using a 3D printer. A team of engineering students have designed an unusual 'future-tech' robot called Sweeney Todd which makes use of mecanum motion to move around the arena in any direction.

It's the final heat and the action is starting to get hot - literally for one 'bot which bursts into flames. Featuring the tallest robot ever to appear on the show and one shaped like a lobster.

Football legend Robbie Savage, archaeologist and TV presenter Neil Oliver and Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens are among the celebrities battling it out in the second of two festive specials.
