Rod Millen BAJA off-road and Pikes Peak racing champion teams with Chip Foose to turn a Lexus IS330 into a modern day hot rod in time for SEMA. They are given a new Lexus IS330 with an inline 6 and are to upgrade it for Lexus. They pull a V8 out of a new Lexus GS430 to match with a 6-speed manual transmission from a Toyota Supra. The team works through problems to install the power plant. Chip works on the body graphics. After SEMA, Rod tests the car, now called an IS430, on a local track. Rod had set many records in Toyotas over his career. Son Rhys Millen, a champion himself, talks about the new racing sensation, drafting. During this time, Rods shop also works on a upgrade to a Humvees suspension and a unmanned spy vehicle with magnetic suspension for DARPS/Lockheed Martin. Rod also has Chip help him create a winter and summer rod that swaps a 1930 coupe body with a 1932 convertible, equipped with a Lexus V8.

Scott's Hot Rods and Customs in Ventura, Califonia show you how they take a rough shape 1956 Chevy big window pickup and transform it into a one of a kind shop truck. They strip it down to the bare bones, then start with removing the roof. They build a custom chassis and suspension. They chop and channel the body. The box is made all custom only retaining the step side fenders. They fabricate the front end including Mercedes Benz headlights and Buick hood ports. The power plant is an LT1 with a supercharged 500+hp. It is a roadster shop truck that is all steel no filler that they named "Heavy Metal".
