Carole Legrand and Barbara Pelletier, two 17-year-old teenagers, stay alone in the afternoon at Carole's house making a cake. When Carole's mother returns home in the evening, she finds out they are missing. The SR discovers that they disappeared after having chatted on the Internet with a mysterious Lola33. A neighbour tells the police that she saw the two young girls get into a white van, at the time of their alleged disappearance.

On a large beach in the Landes, a beautiful young woman is drowning and cries for help. Jérémy Lagnier, one of the lifeguards, rescues her. When he reaches the shore, he suddenly looks upset, lets her drop in the sand, and leaves, without giving any explanation. At dawn, his body is found stranded on the beach. The SR starts the investigation in the camping site near the beach where he had his caravan and was last seen with the woman he had saved.

During the rehearsals of the ballet "Songe d'Ophélie", Julie Stern, first dancer, breaks her ankle and must be replaced by Karina Duroix, 24, and prima ballerina at the Opéra de Bordeaux. When Karina gets home, she finds an anonymous letter on her doormat, menacing her to death if she plays the part of Ophélie in the premiere, which takes place in two days. The morning after, she is found stabbed dead in her apartment.

Bruno Tardieu, 35, a former rugby player, who had gone blind a few years earlier as a result of a skiing accident, is run over by a car. Despite his blindness, he had overcome this handicap and become a mental trainer in a rugby club, for what he was praised by all. Although it seems like a car accident, the SR soon notices for the evidences that it was a premeditated crime. First suspect is Léo Brodski, whose brother Cyril died during a match, and who held Bruno responsible.

While Mathilde and Ghemara are on Reunion Island on holidays, Jocelyn Tibao, an attractive young man, tries to approach Mathilde. The next day, Ghemara finds both in car and starts following them. Unfortunately they're involved in an accident and the car plunges into the ocean; Tibao dies but Mathilde survives, seriously injured. In Bordeaux, the SR links this case and the unsolved murder of Jenna Payet occurred in Bordeaux three years earlier, and they all fly to Reunion to join Ghemara.
