Mélanie and Eric discuss their future as a couple in a restaurant, when he receives a phone call, forcing him to leave. Mélanie gets angry about it, they argue heatedly and he leaves on his motorcycle. The next day a road worker finds his corpse on a road shoulder but the SR discovers that the body was moved from the crime scene to make it look like an accident. Eric was Victor Bondy's son, threatened for his environmental struggle, in particular with the agricultural company of Robert Catiaux, the father of Mélanie.

While at Château of the Caussade's tourist visits guided by Hélène Delpech start, in the stables, Marc Souchon, stable boy, prepares Countess Anaïs de Caussade's horse for her daily ride. Marc says goodbye to her and her mother-in-law, Tatiana, since their internship in the house has finished. Later that morning, the countess herself finds his corpse in the château underbrush, by his motorcycle. The SR allows the Souchons to approach his body at the crime scene, but they declare that the young man is not their son.

While driving, Julien Laval leaves a message on a voicemail asking for an urgent call back. The next day, the workers of the cork factory where he works as an accountant find his corpse. Marie Boulard, lawyer and friend of Julien's, informs the SR that she was the recipient of the message in which Julien confessed that someone is dead and that he was responsible.

While Pauline Reynaud records sounds in the forest for a documentary about the local fauna, she hears a dog howling and then Gabrielle Eden, owner of the inn she is staying, crying for help. Gabrielle gets killed attacked by a dog that the SR believes can be a Belgian shepherd trained to kill by a stranger who was waiting for it in a van. It is the second attack under similar circumstances in the area.

Nicole Santoni arrives with her car at a church, where she enters and heads for the confessional. At the end of her confession, she aims for her car, but she is shot in the heart with a rifle. She had recently received a promotion at the luxury hotel she worked for but didn't seem happy about it.

A group of young pilgrims heading to Compostela stop to spend the night by a river. At dawn, the body of Julie Lagnier is found floating in the water, pierced by stab wounds. Quickly, the SR discovers that Julie was a nun who was going to take her vows. A young pilgrim on the run, Damien, is suspected of the murder. Adjudant-chef Linsky makes a decision about her future.

A post office robbery goes awry, and two people die: a customer and one of the two thieves. Under the hood, investigators discover a young teenage girl, whose gun was actually a plastic toy. Her name was Romane Feraud and her parents are sure that her accomplice is Thomas Maurin, her boyfriend and a bad influence on the young girl, in their opinion. Thomas is on the run and the SR tries to catch him up.

At vineyards Château des Saint-Vépan, the harvest festival is in full swing when Manon Giraud, 6, grand-daughter of the family, disappears. The family is shocked because twelve years earlier, little Laura Denver Saint-Vépan also disappeared under similar circumstances. Marc Moreau was found guilty of the crime and is the main suspect.

When she manages to phone the gendarmerie to inform that someone tries to kill her in the forest, by the dolmen, two detonations and a strangled cry are heard; then the communication cuts. The SR found traces of blood in the dolmen but no sign of her body. She worked in the town hall and fought against hunting.
