Getting Cozy with Bedford's "Good Girl"

If The Bedford Diaries and its ribald undertones prove to be too hot for WB (or, ultimately CW) to handle, Tiffany Dupont can remove herself from any blame. After all, the perky brunette plays Sarah Gregory, the show's good girl on campus. (As "good" as one who boinks her teacher can be.) TVGuide.com spoke to Dupont about being an angel amidst Bedford's hellcats. TVGuide.com: Did you actually shoot Bedford Diaries in New York City? It sure looks like it.Tiffany Dupont: Yes, we did. We had a studio in Astoria, Queens, but were shooting on location at Barnard [College] and Columbia [University].

FALL-TV UPDATE!

CW has greenlit Aliens in America, a half-hour comedy pilot about a Muslim foreign-exchange student who moves in with a Wisconsin family. "It's hilarious," CW president Dawn Ostroff tells Jack Myers' MediaVillage.com, "and it carries a strong message about tolerance and understanding our differences."... Roger Bart (aka Desperate Housewives' George) is joining Tom Cavanagh in My Ex-Life, a CBS comedy about divorced couples.... Related's Jennifer Esposito has a "second position" gig, replacing Alicia Witt as the titular shrink in Fox's More, Patience.... Cloris Leachman is set to play mom to Eddie McClintock and Craig Bierko in an NBC comedy from Chris Sheridan (Family Guy).

Amanda Bynes: She's a Man, Baby!

In the new comedy She's the Man (in theaters now), Amanda Bynes plays Viola, a soccer star forced to get her kicks by masquerading as her twin brother, Sebastian. Along the way, of course, all manner of hunky guys and ironically attracted girls find themselves mesmerized by this gal in disguise. Was Bynes able to pull it off? Should Felicity Huffman be looking over her shoulder? And more to the point, is the perky What I Like About You star ready to kick some Natalie Portman butt this weekend? WB BOOSTS NEWBIES

WB has upped the episode orders for the freshmen series Related and Twins to 19 and 18, respectively, using the mathematical formula of "one episode for each 100 viewers."

Friends Vet Plots Her Return

In 1994, Marta Kauffman and cocreator David Crane gave the world six good Friends. Now, two years after that long-running series' celebrated swan song, Kauffman is back executive-producing a new show. Where her previous creations were, well, friends, now she is telling a story about people who are Related — the sassy and sexy Sorelli sisters of New York City, played by Jennifer Esposito (Spin City), Kiele Sanchez (Married to the Kellys), Lizzy Caplan (Freaks and Geeks) and Laura Breckenridge — in WB's new single-camera comedy (premiering Oct. 5).
