Green Means Go/Who, Me?/The Used Car

In Santa Cruz, California CHP officers Kevin Enox and Phil Gonzales follow a suspicious pickup truck with three men sitting in the back bed of the vehicle. One of the suspects, a gun-wielding ex-con named Rivas, mutters an expletive and fires a single shot from a shotgun striking the CHP patrol car. Ultimately several more shots are fired back and are Rivas as well as the other suspects are apprehended. Events occurred on Sep 23, 1993, and are re-enacted by the officers themselves.

Gloria Paul wants to get back home to Georgia, after visiting a friend in Greenville County, South Carolina, she figures the easiest and cheapest way is to hitchhike a ride. Adam Waters has been watching her by the roadside at a truck stop all day, seeing that she hasn't had any luck finding a ride. Now that he's off work he wants to help her. offers her a ride, she hesitantly accepts. Trooper H.B. May of the South Carolina State Highway Patrol clocks Adam Waters car speeding, pulling him over, and the trooper hears a women screaming in the trunk of the car. Trooper May is physically assaulted by Waters. Passing motorist, and former policeman Thomas Carlton stops to help the trooper. Once partially subdued, trooper May shoots Waters in the thigh. When backup arrives, troopers rescue Gloria from the trunk. She has been beaten and raped as they take her to the hospital.

Maryland trooper Bryan Wisnom catches a killer on his front porch attempting to break into his house as their neighborhood is on a manhunt in Paxton, Maryland. The killer is Mike Howe, who hours before hijacked a cab and strangled the driver to death.

Too Slow for Comfort/In Cold Water/Midday Run

Twelve days prior, cold blooded killers Howard and Jeff Fellinger assaulted and robbed a 77 year old retired school teacher in Alabama. The brothers took her money then gambled it away in Las Vegas. Now they want more in Arizona killing a clerk and cleaning lady at a truck stop. Distracted the two killers are speeding right next to Arizona trooper George McGuire, he learns the brothers are wanted on assault and robbery. State Trooper Jim Stanton is only a few miles down the road and turns to backup trooper McGuire. The officers form a rolling roadblock, boxing the fugitives in so they can't use the fast lane to escape and attempt to stop them at a dead end. Elusively returning to the highway, but with no other escape road in sight the killers take a chance and go offload running into a dry riverbed. $4,000 in cash and spent shot gun shells were found in their vehicle as they were apprehended and sentenced to death.

Using a stolen van, Rick Alberts, Bob Chaisson, and Kerry Quinn have been robbing motels and mugging their guests the Brockton,Massachusetts area for several weeks. One of the thieves at gunpoint forces the manager to open the safe for the Hotel. The Thieves take over $1000 in cash and make a clean getaway. 20 year Police force veteran David Rea is just coming on duty when he gets a phone call from the hotel that they were robbed. Officer Rea gets a description of the men and Van and heads to apprehend 2 of the 3 robbers on the road. One of the men, Bob Chaisson escapes and is never found.

On US 50, at Cave Rock, Nevada, a bank robber, Kenneth Meller, gets pulled over by Nevada Highway Patrol officer Gary Gifford near lake Tahoe, initially getting only a speeding ticket. Just as Gifford is finished writing the ticket he's see a gun in the car and attempts to arrest the bank robber Meller. A couple driving in their car witness the assault on officer Gifford as Meller then kills Gifford by a gunshot from his .357 Magnum service pistol. The couple driving begin to chase down the killer that was pulled over who then speeds off in his car. Meller breaks into a gift shop at the California state line and takes several hostages, ultimately letting them go and surrendering to the CHIPs.

A distraught man enters the local Fayetteville, Arkansas Police station with his Ex-Wife as hostage. Hours before the distraught man killed his Ex-Wife's parents in cold blood. Getting more vocal the man takes his ex-wife by force to find an officer at the first interior doorway entrance and then opens fire, wounding patrolman Mauris Ray Feyen. Feyen called for assistance as he crawled to hide himself in a microfilm-storage room. The gunmen shoots his Ex-Wife in the abdomen and is shot himself by officers, then apprehended.
