The race continues with less than five hours separating the teams. Leaving Nara City, they must cross their first border into South Korea to reach the second checkpoint in Sokcho.

The 3rd leg begins in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi as the teams enter south east Asia. They must race over 2,000km through Vietnam and into Cambodia to reach Phnom Penh. Whoever reaches the checkpoint last will be eliminated from the race.

The teams are starting from the third checkpoint in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and must travel 1,400 kilometres through Thailand, one of the most visited countries in the world.

The full length of Thailand must be navigated by the teams to reach the next checkpoint - Koh Phi Phi - an archipelago of islands immortalised by Leonardo DiCaprio's 2000 movie The Beach.

Leaving the tranquillity of the islands of Koh Phi Phi behind, the teams now must daringly take a giant leap into the unknown. Departing Thailand and embarking on a 2,000km journey to the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

The populous Indonesian island of Sumatra must be travelled through by the teams. An ad-hoc transport system, limited accommodation options and virtually zero English spoken will all have to be endured by the travellers.

All that separates the first two teams is 12 minutes, as they embark on the final leg of race across the world, from Jakarta to Lombok.
