Episode 1
Michael explores Grenada where he tries pottery and he meets a food writer.
Episode 2
Michael enjoys one of Spain's biggest street parties, then helps with a vineyard harvest before heading to the beautiful hilltop town of Ronda. He also meets an old pupil of his Aunt who was a nun. He tastes local cuisines of Andalusia along with a 2* Michelin chef who moved to Ronda from Barcelona.
Episode 3
Michael visits stunning Mesquita, considered to be one of the world's greatest Islamic buildings, and dines on what could be Spain' biggest tortilla.
Episode 4
Huelva is the province in the SW of Spain, next to Portugal. Here the fishing industry contributes 20% of the fish caught in Spain, and 500 fishing boats work here. Tourists don't visit here in large numbers but Spaniards visit here on a vacation. The white prawn is the most famous catch, known as the Pearls of Huelva. Michael learns to prepare the prawns and Whiting fish. A Rio Tinto mine is on his itinerary, one of the oldest mines in the world, where iron ore is extracted. In Aracena, Michael visits some huge caves which go on for 2 kms and are some of the finest caves in the world. They were opened in 1915. Then he visits a farm where they raise the black pigs that are fed acorns all to become Jamon Iberico, the world famous cured ham.
Episode 5
Michael talks about the 3,000 years of history that Cadiz has. We learn about the old port and the famous explorer that started an exploration from there. Nearby is the town of Jerez which is famous for the Sherry wine. Michael visits a Sherry cathedral that houses 20,000 barrels that are aging. He tastes some by using a venencia tool which drops into the barrel by way of the bung hole, then the sample of sherry is poured into a tasting glass. He meets an Israeli guitarist who plays flamenco music using her Spanish guitar.
Episode 6
Michael visits many beautiful buildings in Sevilla and the surrounding area. He speaks to a female bullfighter. We see lovely, narrow, city passageways which dates back to the Moors when they ruled about 3/4 of Spain. The idea of these passageways was to keep folk in the shade and cool as they move around the city. Michael ends the show with a party at his house in Carmona, Andulucia and before the guests arrive we get a glimpse of some of the downstairs courtyard and the entranceway that has a glass cover over some lovely Roman mosaics. The party gets underway with flamenco dancing, guitar playing and singing.
