A short-lived series using a television film as its pilot. In his origin story, the investment banker Constantine "Connie" Harper is framed and sent to prison for fraud and for assaulting the trial's prosecuting attorney. When he is about to be released, a fellow inmate asks him for a favor, based on a system of traded favors used among the prisoners. He wants Connie to act as a bodyguard for his sister Rosie, an aspiring clothing designer who is targeted by a ruthless diamond broker. After regaining his freedom, Connie becomes the owner of the Florida beach resort Spanish Pete's. He also continues to perform "favors" for former prisoners or other people in need. Connie has gained a reputation as go-to person for last resort assistance.
