Local police officer PC Pete Greenhalgh (Nick Stringer) is injured when he disturbs burglars Gary (Ben Smith) and Ross (Matt Fishel) who have entered The Beeches surgery at which newest recruit Dr Sam Morgan (Joseph Millson) has forgotten to set the alarm. Pete and Sam later apprehend the thieves when seen dealing drugs at the local pub. Pete later finds he is suffering from a far more serious medical condition. Sarah's hairdresser Stella (Charlotte Bicknell) asks Dr Joanna Graham (Haydn Gwynne) about breast enlargement but Joanna warns her of the risks of implant surgery. Sam is visited by heavy drinker Tony Chapman (John Axon), who is complaining of lethargy, and his nagging wife Liz (Angela Curran) who it transpires is inflicting pastry abuse on him. Everyone except her new lover Dr Andrew Attwood (Gary Mavers) notices and compliments Dawn (Sarah Parish) on her new hairdo.
