Sweet aspiring R'n'B singer DeAndre has been dating Dominique for 7 months and believes she's sweet, outgoing, and perfect for him. Unfortunately, his mother and her boyfriend disagree with him completely: they think she's nothing but an overweight skimpy dresser who never respects their decisions and constantly bosses him around. They decide he needs other alternates, namely Carley and Saadia, to change his mind about her. Dominique has a one-way ticket to the couch with his mother and her boyfriend as she's forced to watch him go out with their picks. The boyfriend's pick is Carley, a sweet Southern lady who takes DeAndre to the ice rink to skate, followed by hot chocolate as she draws a cartoon for him about Dominique being a skimpily-dressed fat pig, which angers his girlfriend in the living room. He tells her why his parents think that his girlfriend is nothing more than a skimpily-dressed pig. Mom's pick is ex-GI Saadia, who takes him out to try paintball. This is followed by lunch as he explains why his mother and her boyfriend wants him to ditch his bossy, disrespectful girlfriend. At the end of the dates, DeAndre felt that he had no connection to Saadia and she's the first one to go. Then he weighs in what he likes and dislikes about Carley and Dominique. He likes Carley for being a lady and respectful towards him. But he feels that she may be fake to him and it would be a problem. Then he compliments his girlfriend for being kind and sweet to him, but he needs her to stop dressing like a stripper, quit bossing him around, and start treating him and his mother with respect because she knows they deserve it. Carley is the next to go as he decides to stick with Dominique. This upsets his mother and her boyfriend as they object to his choice to keep her around.

Agreeing that he must go, they arrange a couple of alternates for her, hoping that she's wise enough to eject Matt from her life. Mom's pick, Ryan, takes her to race Go-Karts and play Skee-Ball. Dad's pick, Brandon, takes her snowboarding on some trucked-in snow; that's followed by S'Mores as she explains why her parents don't care for Matt and want to give him the boot. At the end of the dates, Ashley decides that Matt is man for her and eliminates Ryan and Brandon.

Jamie is a USC college graduate who has been dating high-maintenance, snobbish Natalie for three years. His parents don't care for her, so they decide to set him up with Brianna and Jennifer, and Natalie is forced to hang out in the living room with his parents as they watch the dates together. Mom's pick is Brianna, who takes him to play one-on-one volleyball on the beach. He loses the game and must take a swim in the water. This is followed by lunch as he explains why his parents think that his girlfriend is too high-maintenance. Dad's pick is sportscaster hopeful Jennifer, who takes him paddle-boating, followed by a snack as he explains why his parents think he's been with Natalie for too long. At the end of the dates, Jamie thanks his parents for picking Brianna and Jennifer for their sweet and thoughtful personalities, but he still enjoys his relationship with his girlfriend. Jennifer is the first to go as he feels that her job as a newscaster would put a strain on their relationship. Then he weighs in the qualities he likes and dislikes of Brianna and Natalie. He likes the fact that Brianna is sweet and outgoing, but he feels that she could be a bit demanding. Then he turns to Natalie and likes the fact that she's spunky and tons of fun to be around. But he agrees with his parents that she's too high-maintenance and they should go their separate ways. He decides to stick with Brianna, and Natalie's more than happy to leave his parents' house. During the closing credits, she explains why she's happy that she won't deal with Jamie's weird parents anymore.

Kandace is a massage-therapy student; her parents love having her around, but they don't feel the same about her rapper-wannabe boyfriend Jordan. They can't stand the countless times he's put on his pants with his boxers showing, plus he doesn't treat her like a lady. They decide to set Kandace up with Andreas and Emmanuel. Dad's pick is athlete Emmanuel, who takes her out to the football field to do a football-fitness course which is followed by a barbecue as she explains why her parents hate Jordan. Mom's pick, Andreas, takes her to an animal shelter which is followed with chocolate-fondue dessert. At the end of the dates, Kandace eliminates Andreas and Jordan and keeps Emmanuel--in this case, father knows best.

Della and Jerry don't care much for their daughter Giselle's taste in men. They want her to dump lazy rap-wannabe Stephen for one of THEIR picks. They especially object to his always insisting that dates are dutch-treat. Mom's pick is Chase, who takes Giselle to a studio where they do a photo shoot followed by a coffee date, then they unveil the T-shirts they've crafted from their photo shoot. Eugene takes Giselle to a Moroccan restaurant in Beverly Hills, where they get in the mood by learning some belly-dancing before dinner.

Robin and Irwin are proud of their daughter Jordyn; unfortunately, they aren't pleased with her boyfriend of a year: sometime-student Kevin, who is too dependent on his parents. They know he's cheated on her before with his ex-girlfriend and decides he can find someone else. They set her up on blind dates with Alex and Robert, and Kevin is forced to watch the dates with them. Mom's pick, Alex, takes her on a tennis date which is followed by a quick lunch. Kevin gets upset when she sees Jordyn kiss Alex in front of him; this makes her parents smile. Dad's pick, Robert, is an inch shorter than his daughter's typical men. He makes the mistake in taking her to ride horses, although she gets over her fears with his help. This is followed by a picnic. Kevin tells them he's confident that she will pick him. Unfortunately, when the dates are over, Jordyn decides to keep Mom's pick, Alex, and sends Robert and her dependent boyfriend out the door.

Mom's pick Xavier is a dancer and takes Aileen to a studio where he teaches her a few moves, shows off his 8-pack abs and makes his pitch. Dad's pick is Marcus, ex-military and clean-cut; he's a kick-boxer and takes Aileen to his gym, where they spar a bit.

They want him out of her life, so they've arranged for a couple of substitutes. Dad's pick, Josh, takes her out to the beach to try dry-surfing training. Mark is unimpressed by this and tells the parents off. Mom's pick, Jason, takes Ashley to an art studio where they do body-painting on each other which is followed by a shower. The sight of this makes Mark very jealous. At the end of the dates, Ashley decides that Jason will treat her better and eliminates Josh and Mark.

Kind, sweet Justine has been dating Nate for 7 months and believes he's perfect for her as he's outgoing and a teddy bear to her. Unfortunately, her mother and drill-instructor father disagree with her: they think he's just a loud, obnoxious jerk in a rock band who makes a living detailing cars. They want her to have nothing more to do with him and set her up with their alternatives; Nate has a one-way ticket with her parents in the living room. Elliott is Mom's pick: formerly from North Philly, he's retired from the Marine's after being wounded in Iraq. He takes Justine food-shopping, then to a shop where he prepares her a spaghetti dinner. During that time, she explains to him why her parents think Nate is a loser who deserves his rock band more than her. Dad's pick is Tim, a tennis instructor at a kids' camp who Justine to the batting cages where he teaches her how to hit both softballs and baseballs. This is followed by a snack as she explains why her parents don't see eye-to-eye with Nate. At the end of the dates, Justine commends her parents for choosing Elliott and Tim to date her, while she enjoys her boyfriend's company. But her father's choice is the first to go as she thinks he's a show-off and she hates that. Then she weighs in what she likes and dislikes out of Elliott and Nate. She likes the fact that Elliott has served time in Iraq before and that he's charming and caring. But she feels that he could be a bit to charming. Then she tells Nate that loves his style and he's always been a teddy bear to her. Unfortunately, she does agree with her parents that he's a loud, obnoxious jerk to them and he needs to change if he wants to be with her. She finally decides that her boyfriend deserves a second chance to redeem himself, sending Elliott out the door. Her parents are both displeased with the decision. Her mother threatens to give Justine, a lobotomy if she decides to marry him. During the closing credits, Nate celebrates his victory over her parents' picks by sharing a kiss with Justine.

Mom and dad aren't pleased that their sweet and caring son, Robert is dating his obnoxious, disrespecting and cheating girlfriend, Tasia, for five months. They decided they need to get rid of her fast before she decides to cheat on him again for the final time. They set him up on blind dates with Mone and Ima to change his mind about his girlfriend, forcing her to stay with his parents to watch the dates. Dad's pick is Mone and she takes Robert to a dancing studio where they practice tap dancing, followed by cake decorating which they get more icing on themselves than the cake. He explains to her about his parents having on going problems with Tasia's cheating and obnoxious behavior. Mom's pick is artistic Ima, and she takes him to a pottery studio where they re-enact a scene from the movie, Ghost, before stopping for some coffee. He tells her about the times his parents caught Tasia cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend. At the end of the dates, Robert eliminates Ima first for having too little time for him. Next, he compliments Mone for being understanding, patient and sweet, but she could be a little too sweet. Then he tells Tasia, that he's had a great time with her and she's always been there for him. But he needs her to stop disrespecting his parents and quit cheating on him because that isn't acceptable. Finally, Robert decides he's had enough of his girlfriend's disrespect and eliminates her for dad's pick, Mone. During the closing credits, Tasia shows her displeasure by storming about as Robert and Mone cuddle.
