Evie's Thirteenth Birthday

In a few Hours Evie is going to be 13. A Special birthday, but she didn't know why. After thirteen years of keeping Evie's identity from her, her Mum is forced to reveal the truth at her party when Evie exhibits a special, alien power that enables her to freeze time. Donna explains her that she's half alien and that her father is from the planet Antareus. She is given her father's gift of the cube, a genetic device which allows her to speak to her father on Antareus. Although anyone can hear her father over the cube, her father can only hear Evie.

Evie begins suffering from nightmares as she copes with what being half alien might mean. Donna and Evie visit with a psychiatrist to help cope.

Evie is gifted on the basketball court, but soon a chauvinistic classmate challenges her to a game to prove that boys are better than girls. Evie will have to find her shot against Chris, the new boy in school.

Evie develops a new ability, gleeping, which allows her to make things manifest with her mind. Uncle Beano is being honored by the mayor, but when Evie gleeps Beano and a dog to switch bodies, Donna and Evie have to fix everything.

Evie wins a NASA contest looking for brilliant young minds, but astronaut Scott Carpenter uncovers that Evie's project is based upon information gained from her alien father.

Evie wishes that Donna was more like a stereotypical 1950s television Mom and uses her powers to grant it. Problems arise as Donna is scheduled to give a speech on modern women's rights in order to stop the city from closing a day care center for working women.

Evie is covering the election and Donna is working on Mayor Applegate's campaign. Mayor Applegate has competition in the mayoral election as he faces off against Charles Nelson Reilly.

Donna tells Evie to be friends with a new boy at school. But when Evie tells her mother, the boy's obnoxious but Donna tells her he needs a friend. Donna has an unpleasant encounter with the boy's father who is just as obnoxious not knowing who he is. Evie decides to invite the boy and his father to the house for dinner to show Donna what she has to deal with.
