It's a brand new term at Firth park academy. In the first episode of series 3 we get to know Olivia and Abdul. We see how the first day of secondary goes for all new year sevens.

One thing all year 7 have in common is that they like animals, in this episode they face a rather difficult science lesson. Abdul also has a dilemma of his own, his father is a butcher but he wants to be a vegetarian.

There is a competition going on between Mr. Shabir and Mr. Shore's forms, to see which ones funnier. Mr. Shabir has a special weapon, Finlay. In school, Finlay is a bit of a chatterbox and always likes to make people laugh. But at home it hasn't been the happiest of times, his twin sister recently passed away. The other person we get to follow this time is Ewan, Ewan is a bit of a geek and has gone through quite a lot of changes. Mr. Shore challenges him to go one weekend without technology, which can be a bit of a problem because he loves video games.

School ambassadors Olivia and Roman travel to Memusi school in Kenya and learns all about the differences from life in Sheffield.

The cameras go back to Firth park academy and we get to see how some of the students have changed and are getting on in year 8.
