When Cherokee Chef Nico Albert isn't fronting her metal punk band, she's in the kitchen learning and cultivating ancestral ways of cooking. Sonny Sixkiller is a Cherokee football legend to Washington Huskies fans. We hear how his Cherokee roots shaped his career and how he continues to give back to his community. We also take a step back and hear the story of Judaculla Rock and the message he left in stone for many Cherokee generations to come.

Cherokee potter Crystal Hanna found her calling in clay through mentor and pottery legend Anna Mitchell. She shows us how she finds inspiration from the past while still carving out her own destiny. High school archery coach Ladney Keener leads his team to multiple championships through discipline, practice and love of the arrow. Cherokee artist Keli Gonzales shares how her art helps perpetuate the Cherokee language and traditional values while standing up for social justice and activism. We explore how different Cherokee life was for our ancestors before contact with Europeans. We observe the differences from our lives today, rooted heavily in nature and taking care of the world we lived in.

Sophie Duch is a young Cherokee trick rider with a special connection to her animals. We ride along with her as she entertains rodeo crowds across the country. Cathy Abercrombie is a 3rd generation weaver eager to pass along her traditions to future generations. Cathy takes us inside her weaving tradition, built right here in the Cherokee Nation. Phil Konstantin has led an interesting life and has the job history to prove it. Phil takes us on his path from NASA, the California Highway Patrol and to his travels across the nation. In our Cherokee Almanac, we take a look back at our tribe's earliest encounters with non-Indigenous people.

In our Cherokee Almanac, we explore the agency Cherokee had and continue to practice in their own health in the wake of disease epidemics.

We meet Cherokee Nation citizen Kennith Hicks, a retired Army veteran with numerous tours of Afghanistan and Iraq, who has made it his mission to help fellow veterans return to civilian life and heal at home. Racecar driver Drake Long might only be 16 years old but with his family's support, his skills on the track prove far beyond his years. Ahniwake Rose worked for nearly 15 years in Washington D.C. on behalf of Native American tribes. Now, she's returned to Oklahoma to continue her work creating a more equitable future for all. In our Cherokee Almanac, we explore the concept of clan law. Before we had written laws, justice was determined through a consensus of our tribe's clan structure. In this Cherokee Almanac, we take a look at Cherokee systems of justice and their evolution over time.

We join in on a Cherokee tradition of harvesting wishi, a mushroom and coveted delicacy led by the teachings of our elders. Many people are not aware the Cherokee Nation has its own police force. The Cherokee Marshal Service serves the Nation's 14 counties in jurisdiction but with a mission to help wherever they are needed. In our Cherokee Almanac, we learn the story of a young 19th century Cherokee woman named Catharine Brown and how she navigated the uncertain times.

We meet Cherokee Nation cultural biologist Feather Smith Trevino as she brings together plant life and cultural knowledge. We watch as Kimber Take follows a childhood dream of working in law enforcement while providing much needed support and understanding to fellow officers. Knokovtee Scott was a Cherokee National Treasure and perhaps the most influential Cherokee shell carver in recent history. We were lucky enough to spend some time with Knokovtee before he passed away and witnessed his legacy from his early days teaching to his legacy today. In our Cherokee Almanac, we visit Red Clay, the last capital of the Cherokee Nation prior to our forced removal and learn of the struggle and heartbreak tied to that land.

In our Cherokee Almanac, we visit a painful time in Cherokee history not often discussed, the removal stockades and imprisonment of Cherokees by the federal government leading up to the Trail of Tears.

As President of Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, she works with communities to educate how best to treat the furry companions in our lives. Ashley Thirsty-Vann is a Cherokee Nation citizen and genealogist working to bring generations of family history into focus. She leans on the strength and encouragement passed down from generations of Cherokee women to keep those roots strong. We watch as Gabe Simpson shows us how his grit and perseverance go a long way in realizing his dreams. As a stand-out NCAA athlete for two sports and an accomplished academic, he's a small-town Oklahoma guy who dreams of bringing it all back to the Cherokee Nation. In our Cherokee Almanac, we learn about the significance and heartache tied to Blythe Ferry. For many Cherokee people, it was the last step our ancestors took in their original homelands.
