Dead Air/Renovation

In "Dead Air", Tom Fallor is a douchey shock jock, who's working another late shift alone at the radio station during a stormy night. He's trying to provoke his listeners to tell him scary stories. Tom thinks it's a prank call until the same strange things start happening to him in the station as well. Is the girl's story getting to him and he's losing his mind or is this some psycho's sick idea of a joke? In "Renovation", Keith Miller and his wife and baby son move into their new home. Keith's having nightmares and he thinks that being in a new surrounding might change that. However, not only do the nightmares not go away, but he soon begins hearing things and seeing a man, who may or may not be his abusive dead father. A View Through the Window/Quiet Please

Thu, Jul 19, 200143 mins

In "A View Through the Window", Major Ben Darnell is a brilliant physicist and a grieving father, whose estranged wife blames him for the tragic accidental death of their little son. He's called up to a top secret location, where the military is investigating a strange supernatural phenomenon. A portal to another place has somehow appeared in the middle of the desert and an invisible barrier is blocking it. The soldiers can see the people on the other side - a seemingly happy pilgrimesque family that's living in a picturesque farmhouse surrounded by a luscious green field, but the family can't see the portal or what's on the other side, so they're living their idyllic everyday life like normal. Darnell is stricken by them, since they represent everything he wishes for in his tragic life. He eventually realizes that the barrier disappears for a few seconds each day and decides to risk everything to cross over to the other side despite his commanding officer's direct order not to try anything until they learn more about these people and their world. In "Quiet Please", meekly overstressed Gerald is on a weekend getaway in the local state park. All he wants is to be left alone and enjoy some peace and quiet in the forest. However, he quickly runs into Camper Ben, who sees the park as his second home. Although Gerald insists on being left alone, Ben annoyingly always runs into him somehow. Things take a drastic turn when Ben's pet german shepherd ends up dead. Ben is sure that a grizzly bear is following them and that his unfortunate dog is just its first victim, but Gerald still just wants to be left alone.

His doctor warns him that if he doesn't quit these practices, he will die. Michael decides to take a long vacation, but he's immediately recognized by a young woman, who begs him to help her son. This proves to be Michael's strangest case yet, since the boy seems to be in some sort of a trance - all he does is move back and forth while repeating four phrases about how someone is coming for him. Michael realizes that the spirit of a man, who got killed in a car accident when he stumbled in front of the boy's mother's car, is seeking revenge from beyond the grave and this curse or trance is somehow his doing. Michael decides to take the case and absorb the curse. Will this be his greatest triumph or the last case he'll ever work on? If a Tree Falls.../The Occupant

Three students, Devin, his girlfriend Bethany and their best friend Seth are having a relaxed philosophical discussion on their way home to campus. Devin can't except the other two's suggestion that the Big Bang was not God's work. Suddenly, their car hits a bump, goes of a cliff and falls into a lake. The three reach the shore only to realize that their dead bodies are still in the car. At first they are dumbfounded, but Seth and Bethany eventually conclude that this may be a bizarre example of the famous philosophical question: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" In other words, as long as no one knows they died, they will still exist and "live". They return to campus and try to adapt to their extraordinary situation, but religious Davin can't help but feel that they might be making a mistake and that cheating death may have harsher repercussions than death itself. Tension begins to grow between the three. Devin eventually learns that if God does exit, he is prone to irony.

Patterns/Voices

Psychiatrist Dr. Dan Critchley has a new interesting patient, Martin. Martin claims that, as a kid, he made in his mind a contract with God or whatever it is that makes the world go round, that if he performs a small ritual, something will or will not happen. In time, the number of these deals and rituals grew to such proportions that Martin had to spend a greater part of each day on them and, as a consequence, his family and professional life were eventually ruined. However, he kept on performing these countless little rituals daily anyway, because at this point, there were so many of them and they effected so many things that if he were to stop repeating them, the human civilization and maybe even the world itself would pretty much literally end. Amused by Martin's story, Dr. Critchley concludes that his patient is suffering from an extreme form of obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD for short. The good doctor decides to find out once and for all, who is the insane one - Martin, or the world.
