10 Episodes 2025 - 2025
Episode 1
Thu, Aug 7, 2025
A handful of people associated with the Liga MX football club Necaxa based in Aguascalientes, Mexico talk about its history, its current status in the league, the attachment the public has or doesn't have with it based largely on that status, and his or her own association to the club based on his or her role. Chief among these people is recent investor Eva Longoria, who may not be obvious as such in not even being a born and bred Mexican. Their musings are largely in the lead up to the post-season tournament match on April 18, 2024 against higher ranked Monterrey in what is called the play-in (for those teams like Necaxa which have not made the playoffs based on season play) and Longoria's feeling that in her role she may need the help of celebrity friends who have more experience in such matters (if only slightly).

Episode 2
Thu, Aug 7, 2025
Much of the discussion about the team's fortunes surrounds its fan base, which ebbs and flows, especially of the casual fans, depending on how the team is doing. Unlike many other teams, it doesn't have the luxury of a century's long history in its current home of Aguascalientes, and that short history there has generally has been a losing one. While she doesn't want everything to be about money, Eva admits that her infusion of money has at least stabilized the team's fortunes in they not always needing to "sell" their star players, their constant departures which have been another source of fan frustration. This discussion occurs in the lead up to the 2024 Opening Tournament, the first match against Monterrey, who handily beat them in their last match in April 2024. A serious injury sustained in this opening game affects their potential fortunes in the Leagues Cup - an intervening tournament pitting MLS teams versus Liga MX teams - doing well at which may be even more important in being on an international stage.
Episode 3
Thu, Aug 14, 2025
It's the Liga MX 2024 opening tournament, and the lead up to and actual match between Necaxa and América, two teams with very different situations and histories somewhat akin to David versus Goliath, is presented. The importance of the match from the Necaxa side is presented from many different perspectives, from key staff, to players (most specifically Emilio Lara a once storied América team member who was recently traded to Necaxa in his declining fortunes, his arrival more important in light of the injury to team captain Alexis Peña), to "La Patrona", to fans, to vendors who rely on public excitement for the team for their own economic fortunes.
Episode 4
Thu, Aug 14, 2025
It's about halfway through the Liga MX 2024 opening tournament, and Necaxa, which has not made it into the playoffs directly in several years, is in eleventh place, just outside of the direct to playoff final spot of eighth, a next win which would put them into sixth. So, panic has not yet set in, but everyone is aware that they have to notch one win after another. The success or failure will probably be at the feet of head coach Eduardo Fentanes. Those at the top are aware that if it does go the way of the latter, replacing Fentanes will not be the panacea that some fans would hope. The remainder of that 2024 opening tournament is presented.

Episode 5
Thu, Aug 21, 2025
It's the 2025 closing tournament. With Eduardo Fentanes gone as head coach a result of Necaxa's dismal showing in the last 2024 tournament, the team's success or failure now rests on the shoulders of new head coach, Argentine Nicolás Larcamón, who initially achieved what were considered miracles with previous teams, Puebla and most specifically León, but not so much with his last team in Brazil. In certain circles, he may be better known for a viral image of him in a torn shirt exposing his left nipple, the notoriety from the incident that led to the shirt being torn. The expectations are high which he is aware of. Upon the start of his tenure, the players are also aware that it will be like starting from scratch with their positions up in the air. Some are pretty certain of remaining with the team, others are less certain if they fit within his vision, some may choose to move on, and others are affected by other issues, such as contract negotiations, team finances and injury.

Episode 6
Thu, Aug 21, 2025
It's early in the 2025 closing tournament and Necaxa has had mixed results, losing more than they've won, but with wins over who are considered better teams. At this stage, they are currently in eleventh, just out of the direct route to the playoffs. Larcamón may have to make some adjustments to strategy, especially with respect to younger promising players that have not quite delivered as wanted, the team management aware that there needs to be a balance to bring along those potential future stars. But those successes against better teams may provide some confidence among the players, most who admit that they are gelling as a team in truly liking each other. But it will be upcoming matches against two teams that may provide the best indication of where Necaxa stands: arch rival América, that rivalry stemming from Necaxa's days based in Mexico City, and arguably the best team currently in the league, León, winning against which may be more important to Larcamón than anyone in it being the team where he arguably has had his greatest professional success.

Episode 7
Thu, Aug 28, 2025
There's five weeks left in the 2025 closing tournament, and Necaxa is in sixth place, a situation they haven't been in i.e. making it directly into the playoffs if they remain in this placing, at this stage of the season in quite some time. However, they have to contend with some key injuries, and their season has been back-loaded, although their next opponent is currently thirteenth placed Querétaro. Regardless, they can't take anything for granted in needing every point they can get. But in certain circles, the milestone of this upcoming match will be the presence for the first time not only in the stadium but in Aguascalientes of Rob, that milestone despite most of the players not only not knowing who he is, but those that do not knowing that he is connected to the team as an investor.

Episode 8
Thu, Sep 4, 2025
There are four games left in the 2025 closing tournament, and Necaxa is still in a position to make it directly into the playoffs for the first time in years. La Patrona is seeing how success breeds success in all aspects of Necaxa, this success which she hopes will be a long term proposition and not regulated just to this one tournament. While the last four games should be easy wins, at least on paper, it is the third to last that there is specific emphasis in it being their last home game, and it against Pechuca, although lower ranked who they have not beaten in two years. Among the players themselves, there is a range of emotions. Only a handful have experienced being in the playoffs with Necaxa. And despite the success, some feel somewhat on the outside either in not being on the first team which has limited their playing time, or in being otherwise sidelined due to injury.
Episode 9
Thu, Sep 11, 2025
With only two games left in the 2025 closing tournament, there has not been this much excitement surrounding Necaxa in many years. They are on the cusp of making it directly into the playoffs being in seventh place, the top six who make it in directly, but the teams currently from third to seventh are withing striking distance of each other, Necaxa as such holding its fate in its own hands i.e. making directly into the playoffs if they win their last two matches regardless of what the other three teams do. Concurrent to what is happening on the pitch, La Patrona, in this endeavor, has always wanted to create a brand that all in Aguascalientes can be proud of and to build a legacy, all of which is partly the work of the marketing team.
