Hero Notebook is a recap episode of My Hero Academia Season 1 anime. This episode summarizes the events that occurred in the first season, from Izuku Midoriya's meeting with All Might up to the end of Class 1-A's Rescue Trial class. - A young Izuku Midoriya stands up to Katsuki Bakugo, in order to defend another child from being bullied. Katsuki mocks him for being Quirkless and attempting to play hero. Izuku is a huge fan of the world's greatest hero, All Might, who is known as the Symbol of Peace and wants to be just like him, but is later told by a doctor to give up: he has two joints in his pinky toe, which shows that he is Quirkless. At middle school, Katsuki mocks Izuku for trying to enroll at U.A. and uses his Quirk, Explosion, to destroy his notebook on heroes. On his way home, Izuku runs into a slime-like villain but is saved by the timely arrival of All Might. Izuku clings onto All Might, causing him to land on the rooftop of a building. Izuku asks All Might if someone who doesn't have a Quirk could also be a hero like him. Suddenly, All Might reverts back to his normal form, much to Izuku's shock. All Might explains that a run in with a powerful villain has left him badly wounded and limited his Quirk usage. All Might tells Izuku that it's fine to dream, but he shouldn't let his dreams blind him from reality. Izuku walks back home, sulking about All Might's words. In an alley, Izuku sees that the slime-like villain has escaped and has taken control of Katsuki, causing chaos with Katsuki's explosions. Izuku rushes to save Katsuki, much to All Might's shock. As Izuku struggles trying to save Katsuki, All Might transforms into his Hero form and defeats the Sludge Villain with Detroit Smash. Later on, All Might explains to Izuku that he was inspired by Izuku's heroism and was wrong about what he said to him. All Might tells Izuku that he can become a hero, causing Izuku to cry because the person who told him this was none other than his favorite hero. All Might reveals that his Quirk is One For All which can be passed down like a torch and has elected Izuku as his successor because he has been searching for a successor for a long time and has shown to be an ideal candidate. Over the next 10 months, in order to inherit One For All, Izuku goes through All Might's tough training regimen. On the day of U.A.'s Entrance Exam, Izuku has become a fine vessel and receives One For All from All Might by ingesting a piece of his hair. During the Entrance Exam, Izuku is unable to earn any points until a giant robot is released and is about to trample on an examinee named Ochaco Uraraka. Izuku uses One For All for the first time and delivers a powerful punch to the giant robot, which destroys it. Back at home, Izuku thinks he failed, but All Might tells Izuku that the Entrance Exam wasn't just testing the examines' abilities to destroy robots, but their ability to rescue others as well. Because Izuku rescued Ochaco, it earned him enough points to enroll into U.A. All Might congratulates Izuku and welcomes him to his hero academia: U.A. Izuku becomes a part of Class 1-A, which his childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo is also a part of. His homeroom teacher is Shota Aizawa, a strict man with high expectations. Shota has Class 1-A partake in a Quirk Apprehension Test in order to gauge their Quirks' abilities. After being lectured by Shota during the ball throw test, Izuku takes control of One For All and uses it on his finger at the last second, allowing him not only to launch the ball at a high speed but to mitigate the damage as well. Shota is impressed while Katsuki is furious that Izuku has been hiding a Quirk from him all along. Izuku's next class is the Battle Trial, in which Class 1-A is divided into hero and villain teams respectively. Izuku is paired with Ochaco Uraraka as part of the Hero team and faces off against Katsuki Bakugo and Tenya Ida. Izuku and Katsuki battle one another, but Izuku is overwhelmed with ease. Izuku uses One For All again during his battle against Katsuki, using it on the ceiling of the building in order to distract Tenya and allowing Ochaco to retrieve the bomb. This gave him and Ochaco the victory. Afterward, Class 1-A takes a trip to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or U.S.J., a place that simulates natural disasters among other types of disasters in order to practice rescuing. Suddenly, the USJ is attacked by a group of villains called the League of Villains lead by a man known as Tomura Shigaraki and have blocked all communications; their mission is to kill All Might. Shota, Thirteen and Class 1-A fight against the League of Villains. Surprisingly, Class 1-A manages to defeat most of the villains and protect themselves, but Shota and No.13 are defeated by Nomu and Kurogiri respectively. Before Tomura and Nomu can lay their hands on Izuku and Tsuyu, All Might arrives to save the day. All Might engages Nomu in a vicious battle in which Tomura reveals his intentions to prove that the Symbol of Peace is a sham and that heroes are no different than villains. Eventually, All Might defeats Nomu with a devastating blow. Before Tomura and Kurogiri can finish what Nomu started, they are repelled by the arrival of U.A.'s teachers, courtesy of Tenya. Tomura and Kurogiri are sucked into Thirteen's Black Hole, but Kurogiri teleports Tomura and himself back to their hideout at the last second. Class 1-A is mostly uninjured except for Izuku while Shota, No.13 and All Might are being treated by Recovery Girl. At the end of the day, Izuku prepares himself for U.A.'s next event, the U.A. Sports Festival.

The News reports that U.A. High's hero course students were attacked by the League of Villains. It is reported that the criminal forces plotted on killing All Might. Seventy-two criminals were arrested, but the leader escaped and his whereabouts remain unknown. Meanwhile, the aforementioned hero, Toshinori Yagi, better known as All Might, pens a letter to his former teacher. After reading the letter, All Might's former teacher muses about the boy acknowledged in the letter. U.A. is closed the day after the attack, and it's faculty members hold a meeting with the Police Force Investigator Naomasa Tsukauchi. They discuss the League of Villains and their recent involvement in the aforementioned attack. Investigator Tsukauchi admits that despite arresting seventy-two villains, he could not find any information on perpetrators. All Might notes that the ringleader: Tomura Shigaraki displayed a child-like mindset and his plan was foolish and too reckless for any sane criminal. The investigator surmises that the criminals viewed Tomura Shigaraki as a leader because of the pressure a world brimming with heroes has put on evil-doers. At the end of the meeting, Principal Nezu suggests that Tomura is being guided towards villainy the same way U.A. students are being guided towards heroism. That night, Izuku lifts weights and ponders how he can master One For All until his mother interrupts him for dinner. In Class 1-A the next morning, the students discuss their appearances on the news because of the attack on the U.S.J. To everyone's surprise, Mister Aizawa arrives to class covered in bandages. He calls his own injuries irrelevant because something more important is approaching: The U.A. Sports Festival. Some of the students worry that the Sports Festival is happening too soon after the attack. Shota explains that the competition is far too important to cancel. It is one of the most-viewed events in the world and a major opportunity for U.A. students to get scouted by professional Hero Agencies. At lunchtime, the students of Class 1-A decide to forget about the attack and pump themselves up for the Sports Festival. The most excited out of all of them appears to be Ochaco, who puts on her game face and yells to everyone that she plans to do her best. Afterward, she walks with Izuku and Tenya, with the former questioning her motives for attending U.A.'s hero course. She awkwardly tells them that she only plans on becoming a hero for the money, surprising Izuku. She goes on to admit that her family is struggling financially because business is slow for their construction company. Izuku and Tenya point out that Ochaco's Quirk could drastically reduce business expenses if she got licensed, and her family could sell their construction equipment as well. Ochaco agrees completely but remembers that her father encouraged her as a child to follow her own dreams instead. Izuku and Tenya are genuinely inspired by Ochaco's noble ambition, and Izuku even admits that she has a more practical reason for becoming a hero than anyone. Suddenly, All Might appears and asks Izuku to join him for lunch. Tenya and Ochaco go to the mess hall without him and talk about his relationship with All Might, piquing an eavesdropping Shoto's interest. Izuku and All Might meet in the lounge and talk over tea. All Might reveals that he can only hold his hero form for about fifty minutes now. Izuku tries to console him, but All Might laughs it off and asks Izuku about his progress with One For All. Izuku tells All Might that he was able to use his power without breaking his arm because he had to use it against a person for the first time. All Might congratulates him on his progress but reminds Izuku that he has to hurry and become the new symbol of peace. He tells Izuku that the Sports Festival will be his debut as the next All Might.

All Might instructs Izuku to use the Sports Festival as a chance to debut as the new Symbol of Peace. However, Izuku is skeptical about his ability to fulfill All Might's request. All Might encourages his protege to aim for the top, never settle, and remember the emotions he felt while training at Takoba Municipal Beach Park. Once the school day ends, Class 1-A's students are unable to leave class because the exit is blocked and crowded by students from other classes. Katsuki says they're there to scout out the competition and then instructs them to move out of his way. A student from the general studies course confronts Katsuki and issues a declaration of war to him and his class. The boy explains that if students from other courses do well in the exam, they can be moved into the hero course. He declares war on Class 1-A because he plans on taking their place in the Hero Course. Next, a student from the Class 1-B abruptly arrives claiming he wanted to see the class that defeated real villains but is annoyed to find a bunch of condescending brats. Many of the students in Class 1-A worry that Katsuki has ruined their reputation and caused all the other classes to hate them. Katsuki tells them that it doesn't matter and it's only important that he beats them in the festival. Izuku notices Katsuki's ambition and recalls the conviction of both Tenya and Ochaco as well. He is ashamed to have doubted his own convictions and decides to devote himself to training for the next few days. While he trains seaside, his fellow classmates train at the Replica City District and their own homes. Two weeks later the day of the U.A. Sports Festival finally arrives. Izuku is encouraged by his mother to do his best as he leaves for school. The school has increased security and has the festival broadcasted live. Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, and Death Arms are employed as security. After Mount Lady seduces her way to lunch, they talk briefly about how the school has employed Pro Heroes to secure the facility. In the Class 1-A waiting room, students change into their P.E. uniforms for the festival, making it fair for everyone since they won't be wearing costumes. Tenya enters the room and warns his peers that they are about to enter the arena. Before they do, however, Shoto Todoroki approaches Izuku. With the entire class listening, Shoto explains that although he is stronger than Izuku, the latter has the number one hero in his corner. Shoto continues by telling Izuku that he will defeat him at the festival. Eijiro tries to diffuse the situation, but Shoto refuses him and moves to leave the room. Izuku stops him and admits that although Shoto has more potential than anyone in the hero course, Izuku says he will be aiming for the top just like all the other students in the school. Class 1-A walks out to the Freshmen Stage of the Festival Stadium and the U.A. Sports Festival officially begins. The other freshmen classes also arrive. The Chief Referee for the Festival: Midnight, asks for the student representative, Katsuki Bakugo to lead the pledge. Instead, Katsuki takes the stage and announces to everyone that he will win the Festival, garnering boos from all the students. Izuku notices that Katsuki is pushing himself while making targets of Class 1-A at the same time. After the so-called pledge, Midnight announces the preliminaries of the Festival will be an Obstacle Race 4 kilometers around the stadium. The race immediately begins and all the participants struggle to exit through the stadium door. They get packed into a mob by the narrow corridor as their first obstacle. Shoto realizes this and makes his move by freezing the pathway and racing ahead of all the others. Even though many contestants are frozen in place, Katsuki, Momo, Yuga, and Eijiro avoid the ice and stay on Shoto's back. Many other students remain close behind them and Shoto's surprised to see that so many were able to avoid his attack. Minoru manages to reach Shoto and tries to attack him, but is knocked away by a villain bot. Many villain bots suddenly reveal themselves as the second obstacle, blocking the path of the participants. Some of the villain bots are the Zero-point robots from the U.A. Entrance Exams that cause many students to panic, but not Shoto. He remains calm and expresses his desire to face a more difficult obstacle and proceeds to freeze an entire giant villain bot solid with ease. Shoto immobilizes the giant robot off balance and runs underneath it before it falls into the path of the remaining students. Other villain bots confront Izuku, and instead of quaking in fear like at the entrance exam, he decides to commit himself devising a strategy.

Shoto Todoroki has gained an early lead in the Obstacle Race after freezing a giant Zero-Point Villain and leaving it to collapse in on itself, creating a blockade for the other competitors. Eijiro and Tetsutetsu get trapped underneath the frozen robot but break out using their similar defensive Quirks. Eijiro is disheartened to learn Tetsutetsu's Quirk is almost the same as his own. Katsuki uses his explosions to move around in the air and rocket over the remaining robots, and is quickly followed by Hanta Sero and Fumikage Tokoyami, each using their own Quirks: Tape and Dark Shadow, respectively. Watching from the stands, Pro-Hero, Snipe observes that most of the race leaders are from Class 1-A. Eraser Head comments that the class had grown since the attack on U.S.J., and have learned not to hesitate. Many students from the class fight their way through the villain robots, including Izuku, who uses a plate from the debris created when Shoto first destroyed the Zero-Point villain to slash through one that was targeting him. All the remaining Zero-Point villains are taken down by Momo, who creates a cannon to shoot them down. The next obstacle is The Fall: a canyon that can only be navigated by walking along tightropes. A student from the support course, Mei Hatsume, decides to make herself known by showing off all of the gear she had developed previous to the Sports Festival. Mei explains that students in the support course can use their equipment to level the playing field with students in the Hero Course, proceeding to utilize her gadgets and cross the fall, leaving Mina and Ochaco behind. Shoto is the first to clear the fall, but Katsuki is quickly closing the distance between them. Fans in the crowd comment on how Shoto's Quirk, as well as his physical abilities, make him stand out. One person attributes this to the fact that Shoto is the son of the Flame Hero: Endeavor. Despite his lead, Shoto is put at a disadvantage when he reaches the final obstacle: The Mine Field. Shoto has to trek carefully through the field and is eventually caught up to by Katsuki, who is still using his Quirk to fly through the air. He catches Shoto and tries to blast him with an explosion. Katsuki remains irritated that Shoto bothered to challenge Izuku and not him, and the two start to battle for first place. Having received inspiration from Katsuki wielding his Quirk to fly, Izuku develops a plan to take first place after reaching the Mine Field. He digs up the mines using the shard of metal he picked up earlier and piles them up. Then, protecting himself with the metal, he jumps on the mines and the explosion propels him ahead of Katsuki and Shoto, which surprises both. Izuku gains the lead for a moment, but Katsuki and Shoto quickly catch up as Izuku starts to lose momentum. However, before he lands, Izuku places himself on both of their backs and detonates the mines in front of by striking the metal shard on the ground. This explosion allows Izuku to launch past his competition and run to cross the finish line, placing first. Shoto and Katsuki follow close behind, placing second and third respectively. Soon after, the remaining thirty nine qualifiers arrive back in the arena. Izuku tears up after looking into the stands and seeing All Might with a proud grin on his face. The latter comments on how he had nothing to worry about because Izuku just showed that he is a fighter whose selflessness doesn't hold him back. He overhears students in the business course talking about how difficult Izuku would be to market because he had not shown off his Quirk. After announcing the standings, Midnight moves the Festival on to the second event: The Cavalry Battle. The top forty-two qualifiers form teams from two to four people in order to earn points by stealing headbands from other teams. A team's point value is based on the value of its individual members. The members of the team receive point value based on their placement in the obstacle race. Izuku, who is first place, is worth ten million points; as the other students figure out that all they need to do to win is take him down, Izuku realizes that he has become a massive target for the other contestants.

Episode 4
Sat, Sep 8, 201823 mins
Midnight explains the rules for the U.A. Sports Festival's second round event: The Cavalry Battle. The qualifying students have fifteen minutes to make teams of two to four people, and each person's point value depends on their placement in the Obstacle Race. After getting first place, Izuku Midoriya is worth ten million points. This simulates how difficult it is to be at the top, above the rest of the competition. Teams formed will be worth their members' accumulated point value. Team's point values are listed on their headbands, which can be worn around the head or the neck of the rider. The objective of the game is to steal as many headbands as possible to raise your team's point value. If a team falls or has their headband stolen, they can still compete until the time is up. The time limit for the Cavalry Battle is fifteen minutes, and only the top four teams will advance to the finals. Midnight finishes explaining the rules with warning each team not to make each other fall on purpose, annoying Katsuki. Meanwhile, Death Arms, Kamui Woods and Mount Lady watch from the break room and have a discussion about the Festival. Death Arms says the Festival is more so about simulating real Pro-Hero competition rather than seeing how prepared the students are. Mount Lady comments that it's sad to look at Pro-Hero jobs in a manner where you're looking to step over other heroes. This annoys Kamui Woods, who angrily replies that Mount Lady had no problem stealing the spotlight from him. The three of them agree that unlike the Obstacle Race, the Cavalry Battle is being used to simulate working together with other heroes. Back at the stadium, students have begun picking their teams. Many students from Class 1-A try to convince Katsuki to join their team, but he has a hard time recollecting their names and Quirks, annoying them with his ego. Watching from the stands, All Might notes that although he's a hothead, Katsuki garners so much attention because of his versatile Quirk and placement in the Obstacle Course. Then Eijiro tries to join Katsuki since Shoto denied him already. Katsuki forgets Eijiro's name as well, but the latter makes a strong case for his team and Katsuki decides they will go into battle together. Izuku notices that all the participants are joining fellow peers from their homeroom class, but they're all also avoiding him because he's worth so many points. He begins to panic, but Ochaco decides to join him and says it's good for friends to team up. They try to recruit Tenya for their team as well, but he refuses. While Tenya sees Izuku and Ochaco as his best friends, he views Izuku as a rival as well. He decides to join Shoto's team so he can get stronger, promising to do his best to defeat Izuku. Izuku notices that everyone is targeting him, but his focus is abruptly interrupted when a girl from the support course introduces herself as Mei Hatsume, brashly asking to join Izuku's team because he has the most points. Mei wants to show off her inventions during the event and believes the best course of action is to join Izuku in order to draw the most attention. After showing him a few of her gadgets, Izuku recognizes one modeled after a famous hero and is impressed enough to agree to join her. Even with Mei and Ochaco, Izuku feels as if his team needs another person. Almost everyone has selected a team at this point, but Izuku spots the perfect person to fill the void for his team. As time runs out for the participants to form their teams, Neito Monoma from Class 1-B talks up his team. He says that everyone is too focused on Class 1-A because they fought villains, even though they're too full of themselves. Believing Class 1-B is just as talented, Neito instructs his team to step up their game and defeat the jerks from Class 1-A. After the fifteen minutes are up, twelve teams are formed. For the final member of his team, Izuku successfully recruited Fumikage Tokoyami. Just before the Cavalry Battle begins, Shoto explains his strategic formation to his team: Tenya, Denki, and Momo. Tenya questions if Shoto will use Ice and Fire as diversions, but Shoto replies he never uses his left side in battle. The Cavalry Battle begins and many of the teams go straight for Izuku's headband. Team Tetsutetsu's Juzo Honenuki uses his Quirk to soften the ground beneath Team Midoriya, trapping them. Equipped with a jet-pack and hover soles created by Mei, Team Midoriya is also to escape by flying into the air. Kyoka tries to use her Earphone Jacks to attack them while they're in the air, but Fumikage's Dark Shadow Quirk deflects it. Izuku comments on Fumikage's powerful Quirk and how perfectly it suits the team just before they land. Kyoka's Team wants to go after Izuku but notices their headband has been stolen by Neito, who comments on how it was too easy. Team Mineta rushes Team Midoriya. Izuku mistakes Mezo for being alone, but in fact, Tsuyu and Minoru are riding on his back, shielded from sight by his tentacles. They use both their Quirks to attack Team Midoriya, and one of Minoru's spheres sticks to their hover soles, trapping them on the ground. Team Tetsutetsu joins the fray, forcing Izuku to break the hover soles in order to escape back into the air. His team gains a few seconds of breathing room, as Katsuki immediately pursues them by using his explosions to fly. Katsuki tries to blast them out of the air, but Fumikage's Dark Shadow blocks him. Katsuki begins to fall out of the air, but Hanta uses his tape to secure him. Midnight rules that since Katsuki didn't touch the ground, his maneuver was completely legal. The crowd cheers loudly and fans comment on the skills of Class 1-A, but Present Mic announces that other then Team Midoriya, no one in Class 1-A is currently placed in the top four. Team Monoma even manages to steal Katsuki's headband. Neito explains that he and some of his classmates purposely throw the Obstacle Race in order to scout Class 1-A's Quirks. They remained in the top forty while Katsuki and their other rivals used their Quirk's freely. Neito comments that it was foolish on their part to obsess about the preliminary round and continues to taunt Katsuki. Neito talks about how Katsuki is famous for being involved in the Sludge Villain incident and calls him a victim. Absolutely livid, Katsuki decides to forgo his original plans and tells his team they're going to annihilate Class 1-B before going after Izuku's team. Izuku takes notice of Class 1-B's long-term strategy and believes that none of them will come after his team. He prepares to instruct his team to relax, but Team Todoroki confronts them. Shoto declares that he will take the ten million point headband.

Episode 5
Sat, Sep 15, 201823 mins
The Cavalry Battle continues, and somehow Team Mineta has lost their headband despite their strategy to remain hidden on Mezo's back. Foregoing defense, Mezo and his team charge at Team Midoriya, but they're not the only ones after the ten million point headband. Thanks to Shoto's leadership, Team Todoroki is able to immobilize the other teams charging for Team Midoriya and takes a few of their headbands. Eraser Head comments that Shoto is adapting his strategy from the Obstacle Race, having used Denki's lightning before freezing his opponents this time. Team Todoroki makes their move against Team Midoriya. Although Fumikage was able to defend against Denki's Quirk, he reminds Izuku of his own Quirk's weakness. Dark Shadow's attack power depends on the amount of light in the area and if there was anymore at the moment, Denki could have completely destroyed Dark Shadow. Meanwhile, Neito Monoma provokes Katsuki into attacking him. Not only does Neito evade Katsuki's initial blast, but he also uses an explosion of his own to repel his Class 1-A rival. When Katsuki tries to attack him again, Neito uses Eijiro's hardening power to defend himself. Katsuki realizes Neito's Quirk is the ability to copy other people's powers. Katsuki tries to attack again, but his team is immobilized by Kojiro Bondo's Quirk. As Team Monoma flees the area, Neito taunts Katsuki about his pledge before the Festival. Despite his undeniable rage and lack of points, Katsuki remains determined to come out on top. For the latter half of the games, Team Midoriya is able to keep away from Team Todoroki by keeping their distance and staying on Shoto's left side. In that position, Shoto is unable to freeze them without hitting Tenya. Shoto's father, Endeavor, comments that Shoto is foolish for allowing Izuku to exploit his weakness. With time running out, Iida uses his special move Recipro Burst to unleash a burst of super speed and in an instant, Shoto steals Izuku's headband. Iida's engines stall, as a result, meaning he cannot move, but he takes a moment to remind Izuku he would try his best to defeat his friend. Fumikage suggests the team try for other headbands, but Izuku refuses and Ochaco encourages them to try and get their points back. This reminds Izuku that he's not alone in this battle and that it's his responsibility to reward his teammates' trust. Team Midoriya rushes Team Todoroki and Izuku decides to finally use One For All. Shoto senses Izuku's power and instinctively defends himself using the flames from his left arm. Neito plans to allow the clock to run out and boasts about his team's accomplishment, but Katsuki suddenly flies at them using an explosion. Kosei Tsuburaba stops Katsuki using his Solid Air Quirk, but the latter punches through it and snags two of Team Monoma's headbands. Other teams try to capitalize on Team Monoma, but Neito uses Kosei's Quirk to repel them. With only one headband remaining, Kosei states that the team is still in fourth and Neito agrees to settle for last place. However, his Class 1-A rival does the opposite of settle. Unsatisfied, Katsuki strategically uses his teammates' Quirks to close the distance between the two teams. Kosei tries to stop him, but Katsuki blasts through the air shield and takes Neito's last headband. All Might is impressed that Katsuki understands a truth that no one needed to teach him: "there is a difference between those who aim for the top and those who settle, and that difference matters". Shota comments that although Class 1-B had a good strategy, they failed to take Katsuki's "overwhelming tenacity" into account. Even after securing more than enough points to advance, Katsuki urges his team to go after Izuku and the ten million points. Back at the confrontation between Team Midoriya and Team Todoroki, Izuku uses One For All to break Shoto's defense. This opening gives Izuku the chance to take a headband. Believing the ten million points is the top headband around Shoto's neck, he grabs it. His team celebrates too early, however, and they realize Izuku took a headband only worth seventy points. Without enough points to move onto the next round, Team Midoriya makes one final attempt. Katsuki also arrives on the scene, but time runs out just as everyone is about to clash. With the Cavalry Battle over, Team Todoroki secures first place. Tenya blames himself for the close call, but Momo reassures him their's team victory is all because of his special move. Team Bakugo places second, but it isn't nearly good enough for Katsuki, who screams out of frustration. Somehow, Team Hitoshi mysteriously takes third place, knocking Team Tetsutetsu out of the games. Disappointed, Izuku tries to apologize to his team, but Fumikage reveals that thanks to Izuku's attack, Dark Shadow was able to take one of Team Todoroki's headbands. The headband is worth enough to place Team Midoriya in fourth, allowing them to advance to the next round. Izuku cries tears of joy while Shoto berates himself for using his left side. Confused, Team Tetsutetsu blames their loss on karmic punishment for underhandedly stealing Minoru's headband. Tsuyu congratulates Mina, but she confesses to not contributing much to their victory. Ochaco teases Tenya for holding back and he explains it was not deception, he was simply hiding his abilities to be strategic. Ochaco notices Izuku is missing and doesn't know it's because Shoto has confronted him near the student entrance. At the same time, the number one hero All Might greets the number two hero Endeavor.

Episode 6
Sat, Sep 22, 201823 mins
Shoto Todoroki brings Izuku to the Student and Faculty Entrance, but his reason is unknown to Izuku. Izuku says that they should get lunch before they run out of time, but Shoto continues his cold intimidation and ignores him. When Shoto finally speaks, he says the power that came from Izuku during the Cavalry Battle was the same as All Might. Then, much to Izuku's shock, Shoto asks if he is All Might's "secret love child". Izuku attempts to explain that isn't the case, but Shoto figures out that there is a secret connection between the two. Shoto states that he is the son of the Number 2 Hero, Endeavor, giving him even more reason to defeat Izuku. Meanwhile, the two top Pro Heroes meet on a set of stairs. Endeavor tries to ignore All Might, but All Might pursues him. He compliments Endeavor for his son's performance and asks for tips on how to train the heroes of the future. However, Endeavor refuses and only replies that Shoto will usurp All Might as the top hero one day. Shoto explains to Izuku that Endeavor is obsessed with defeating All Might, and although he was never able to do it, he is still trying to. Endeavor used his money to buy out Rei Todoroki's family to implement a Quirk marriage with the intent of creating a powerful child; eventually, Shoto was born. He reveals that Endeavor only created him to annex All Might as the number one hero and that all the memories of his mother are of her crying. He also says that his mother called his left side unbearable before pouring boiling water on his face, which brought a horrified expression to Izuku's face. The reason Shoto has picked a fight with Izuku is that he wishes to show his father that he can win the festival without using his fire ability. Shoto leaves the area but Izuku stops him for a moment to declare that, despite his inferior motivations, he will still do his best to defeat Shoto. Katsuki secretly listens to their conversation from a distance. After lunch, Present Mic announces that before the finals, participants can take part in recreational side games. He and Shota notice that, along with the cheerleaders hired by U.A., girls from Class 1-A are dressed as cheerleaders. They were fooled into wearing them by Denki and Minoru, much to Momo's dismay. Before the recreational games begin, Midnight instructs students to draw lots in order to organize match-ups for the final round: a one on one fighting competition. Eijiro and Hanta explain to Mina that the final round of the festival differs every year, although it is always a one-on-one competition. Mashirao withdraws himself from the competition before the lots are drawn, shocking everyone in his class. He points out that he was used as a puppet by Hitoshi Shinso during the Cavalry Battle, and his pride won't allow him to continue without knowing how he got there. Nirengeki Shoda from Class 1-B also requests to resign, feeling that he does not deserve to participate in the finals. Midnight allows them to withdraw and decides that the newly opened spots will be filled in with members from the fifth place team: Team Kendo. However, Itsuka Kendo gives the opportunity to Team Tetsutetsu because they fought harder during the Cavalry Battle. With all the participants set, Midnight discloses all of the match-ups for the first bracket: Izuku Midoriya vs. Hitoshi Shinso, Shoto Todoroki vs. Hanta Sero, Ibara Shiozaki vs. Denki Kaminari, Tenya Ida vs. Mei Hatsume, Mina Ashido vs. Yuga Aoyama, Fumikage Tokoyami vs. Momo Yaoyorozu, Eijiro Kirishima vs. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Katsuki Bakugo vs. Ochaco Uraraka. Izuku mulls over his match-up and his opponent tries to ask him a question. Izuku recognizes him from his challenge to Class 1-A, but Mashirao doesn't allow him to talk to Hitoshi. Shoto hopes that Izuku advances so he can defeat him himself, Katsuki doesn't recognize Ochaco's name and Mei Hatsume pitches something to Tenya. The recreational games commence and many of the finals qualifiers use the opportunity to prepare themselves. After Cementoss finishes building the fighting arena, the finals begin. Izuku prepares to take the stage, but All Might finds him and they talk about One For All. Izuku believes he's only gotten to the finals because of others' support and luck, but All Might encourages him to stand tall. Inspired, Izuku takes the stage to battle Hitoshi. However, Hitoshi taunts Izuku about Mashirao and gets him to talk, activating his Brainwashing Quirk. The crowd watches in horror as Izuku stands immobile in the middle of the ring.

The first match of the finals is underway, but Izuku has stopped in his tracks. Present Mic attributes this to Hitoshi Shinso's Quirk. Eraser Head comments that the match is an example of why the U.A. Entrance Exam is flawed; Hitoshi has a powerful Quirk, however, he was not admitted to the hero course because the practical exam was based on scoring points by fighting robotic villains. Hitoshi's Quirk, Brainwashing, allows him to control anyone that talks to him. He tells Izuku he is lucky to have been blessed with a heroic Quirk, then orders Izuku to turn around and walk out of bounds. Izuku obeys and starts walking towards the edge of the ring, much to the shock of everyone watching. All Might yells for him to stop, but to no avail. In Izuku's head, he struggles to stop himself, but is completely helpless to disobey Hitoshi's order and continues walking, his mind is feels like it is full of fog and his body is moving on its own. He remembers what Mashirao told him before the match. Mashirao explains that during the Cavalry Battle, he was under Hitoshi's control until he bumped into Ibara Shiozaki. Izuku could have avoided being brainwashed had he not talked to Hitoshi, and now there's no outside interference to break Hitoshi's hold. Izuku begins to give up hope as he gets closer and closer to the line at the edge of the ring, but then he mysteriously receives a vision of eight silhouettes. Suddenly, One For All's power activates and Izuku is able to move his fingers just enough to break them and regain control of his own body. Hitoshi watches in dismay and tries to get Izuku to talk to him again. Izuku takes a moment to ponder how he activated One For All but puts it aside to finish the fight. Hitoshi realizes that Mashirao warned Izuku beforehand, as Izuku refuses to talk. He continues to try and force a reaction out of Izuku by talking about how his Quirk puts him at a disadvantage and how Izuku is blessed to have a heroic Quirk. Although Izuku feels for Hitoshi and can relate to him, he continues to fight and tries to push him out of bounds. Hitoshi punches him in the face and at his broken fingers to break his hold. He tries to push Izuku out of bounds, but the latter counters with a shoulder throw that sends Hitoshi out of bounds. Having been defeated, Hitoshi remembers his past. At Nabooh City Junior High, many of Hitoshi's classmates comment on how his Quirk is very villainous. Hitoshi gets used to being looked at as the bad guy but has always stayed headstrong in his desire to be a hero. The match ends with Izuku as the winner, and Shota comments on how Izuku used every trick he's picked up at U.A. to win the match. Afterward, Izuku asks Hitoshi what drives him to be a hero. He walks away and replies that he cannot help what his heart desires. Izuku thinks about how he can relate to Hitoshi, and believes that before he got One For All, he was just like him. As Hitoshi walks towards the exit, his classmates from the crowd congratulate him. They point him towards the conversations of several Pro Heroes and one of them comments on how amazing Hitoshi is despite not being in the Hero Course. Hitoshi receives these kind words well and tells Izuku that he will become a hero even though he lost the match. Izuku has his injuries healed in Recovery Girl's office. He tells All Might about his vision, but the number one hero appears to be completely oblivious to what happened. All Might tells Izuku that his passion allowed him to overcome Hitoshi's power and not the vision, but Izuku is unsatisfied with his answer. After Izuku leaves the room, All Might and Recovery Girl discuss how Izuku seeing All Might in his vision is "a good thing". Shoto walks through the corridor towards the ring but encounters his father Endeavor on his way there. Endeavor says Shoto is acting disgracefully and that he needs to end his childish rebellion. Irritated, Shoto tells his father he will win the tournament without using his fire powers. Endeavor replies that Shoto will soon reach the limit of his mother's power, greatly angering his son. Izuku returns to the stands and sits with his friends after receiving a congratulatory nod from Mashirao. The next battle between Hanta Sero and Shoto begins immediately. Hanta starts off strong and nearly throws Shoto out of the ring, but the latter takes out his aforementioned anger by freezing Hanta in a giant ice prison. Everyone watches in disbelief of Shoto's power, and then Midnight confirms that Hanta is immobilized, giving Shoto the win. Shoto apologizes to Hanta for going overboard, blaming it on his anger. He uses his left arm to melt away the ice, and Izuku notices that Shoto looks immensely sad.

Sat, Oct 6, 201823 mins
Once the massive amount of ice Shoto created is cleared from the stadium, the third match in the first bracket of the finals tournament begins. The bout is between Ibara Shiozaki from Class 1-B and Denki Kaminari. Present Mic introduces Ibara as an "assassin" which she takes exception to, and decides to correct him. She claims that it is her humble quest to spread good across the world, and that she would never kill her opponent. The announcer apologizes while Denki muses over how cute he thinks Ibara is. He regains his focus and asks Ibara out on a date, promising to console her after her defeat. Denki starts the battle with his Indiscriminate Shock technique, but Ibara blocks it with her Vines Quirk and ensnares Denki at the same time. With her opponent immobilized and short circuited, Ibara is declared the winner of the match. Neito Monoma takes the opportunity to taunt Class 1-A, but Itsuka Kendo stops him and apologizes. The crowd is impressed with Ibara's performance, and Mt. Lady calls Ibara the perfect sidekick for Kamui Woods, but he only responds by telling her to get back to work. Izuku takes notes on her and starts to annoy Katsuki and his classmates with his muttering. Ochaco stops him by telling him to relax, and then he decides to share his notes on her Zero Gravity Quirk. The fourth match is supposed to begin next, but Tenya equips support gear and Midnight scolds him for it. He pleads for her to allow it because Mei offered him the equipment in order to keep the match fair. Aroused by Tenya's sportsmanship, Midnight allows him to wear the equipment and the "battle" begins. During the course of the match, Mei uses the opportunity to advertise her support items instead of actually fighting. After ten minutes of cat and mouse, Mei leaves the ring and apologizes for tricking Tenya, who is deeply upset that she turned their match into a commercial for her support items. As Izuku takes notes on Mei, Ochaco decides to silently leave the stands. Mina Ashido and Yuga Aoyama duel in the fifth contest. Tsuyu roots for Mina, while Minoru pleads for Yuga to knock her clothes off. Izuku believes Mina is at a disadvantage due to Yuga's ranged Quirk, but Mina knows his weakness because the two were a team during the Battle Trial. Yuga rapidly fires his beam at Mina, but she slides swiftly across the ring to evade his lasers using her acid Quirk. Yuga gets a stomach ache after shooting off a large beam and Mina uses this opening to melt Yuga's belt and uppercut him. Yuga is knocked unconscious and Mina moves on to the next round. The sixth contest begins at once, with Fumikage facing off against Momo. The latter nervously contemplates her strategy, but the fight suddenly begins and Fumikage uses his Dark Shadow to barrage her with a flurry of strikes. She is able to create a simple shield to block him, but Fumikage focuses his attacks on her shield and pushes her out of bounds, ending the match rather quickly. Momo is disappointed with her loss, believing she never got to show off her skills. Fascinated, Izuku comments on how Fumikage is incredibly powerful and Mashirao replies that he feels bad for Momo. As the seventh match between Eijiro and Tetsutetsu begins, Tenya happens upon Ochaco in the waiting room. Izuku joins them since Eijiro's fight is dragging on, with the two consistently trading blows using their similar Quirks. Ochaco and company discuss her upcoming match against Katsuki. Izuku points out that Katsuki will use his full power to defeat Ochaco, and offers her a strategy to beat him. However, Ochaco refuses. She admits that she feels embarrassed for relying on Izuku during the Cavalry Battle and declares that she will do her best to defeat Katsuki on her own. After striking one another over and over again, Eijiro and Tetsutetsu knock each other out. Midnight affirms that the match is a draw and the winner will be decided after the next match via an arm wrestling contest. Both contestants are hauled off on stretchers, and the next two participants take the field for the final fight of the first bracket: Ochaco Uraraka versus Katsuki Bakugo.

Episode 9
Sat, Oct 13, 201823 mins
The last duel of the first round in the finals between Katsuki and Ochaco commences. Katsuki warns her to give up before they start fighting because he's not going to hold back. Tenya asks Izuku what his advice for Ochaco was, and Izuku says that she needs to strike first and touch Katsuki to send him out of bounds using her Quirk. She predicts Katsuki's first attack but is unable to avoid it, getting blasted with his signature right hook. He reminds her that she should've dropped out of the match and attacks, but he ends up exploding her P.E. uniform that she sent through the smoke as a distraction. Ochaco gets the drop on him, but Katsuki's lightning-fast reflexes allow him to counterattack and blast her away. She continues her onslaught, attacking Katsuki over and over without rest. He continues to use his explosions to keep her away, upsetting the viewing crowd. Some of the fans believe that because her feint didn't work, Ochaco is getting desperate with her attacks. Neito notices the comment and says that they need to look closer. The viewing fans start to boo Katsuki for being too rough, but Shota calls out the man who started the uproar. He explains that Katsuki's fierceness is an acknowledgment of his opponent's strength, and he's simply doing everything he can to keep Ochaco at bay so he can come out on top. The smoke clears from the initial scuffle, and Ochaco remains undeterred, still standing from Katsuki's barrage of explosions. Uneasy, Katsuki mulls over the fact that Ochaco "isn't dead yet". Ochaco thanks Katsuki for keeping his focus on her. Katsuki looks up to see a vast amount of debris floating above the stadium. Neito explains that Ochaco kept low to the ground as she moved so that Katsuki's explosions tore up the floor of the ring, creating weapons for her. Then she kept him focused on her by attacking relentlessly, rendering Katsuki oblivious to the impending Meteor Storm. As she releases her Quirk, causing all the debris to fall down towards Katsuki, Ochaco rushes at him to try and capitalize on an opening. However, Katsuki unleashes a large, powerful explosion that repels all the debris, horrifying his opponent as she gets blown away as well. Ochaco tries to stand up and fight, but ends up collapsing, having reached her limit after taking the brunt of many explosions. Despite losing consciousness, Ochaco crawls towards Katsuki as she recalls the memory of her promising to help her family by becoming a hero. She ultimately falls unconscious and Katsuki is declared the winner of the match. Midnight has Ochaco carried off the Recovery Girl's office, and Katsuki leaves the ring, having advanced to the next round. He happens upon Izuku while walking back to the stands and is instantly irritated by his presence. Katsuki accuses him of providing Ochaco with her strategy, but Izuku stands up for Ochaco and informs Katsuki that the plan was Ochaco's own. He confesses to having nothing to do with it and tells Katsuki if that battle was more difficult then he had anticipated, then it's because of Ochaco and not him. This irritates Katsuki and he walks to the stands only to be greeted by his other classmates teasing him for his villainous approach to the fight. Denki comments in disbelief of Katsuki attacking a fragile girl, but Katsuki replies that he definitely wouldn't label Ochaco as frail. In anticipation of his next match against Shoto, Izuku goes to the waiting rooms to prepare. He is surprised when he finds Ochaco there and not Recovery Girl's office. She explains that she was completely healed other than a few scrapes and scratches, and goes on to criticize herself for losing. Taken back by Ochaco's lively attitude, Izuku asks if she's okay, to which she replies she's fine. Meanwhile, Eijiro and Tetsutetsu's arm wrestling match commences. Tetsutetsu's iron arm gives way and Eijiro is able to best him, allowing him to advance to the next round. Afterwards, Eijiro offers his hand to Tetsutetsu and commends him for putting up a great fight. They shake hands, and Midnight is aroused by their sportsmanship. With the second round roster filled, the next battle is slated to begin soon. Izuku leaves Ochaco after she wishes him good luck, and then she receives a call from her father. He praises Ochaco's performance and her true repressed feeling surface. Saddened by her loss, Ochaco claims that she didn't do well and that she failed. Ochaco's father continues to encourage her and she gets emotional as she admits to wanting to help her parents out sooner than later. Her emotions pour out into tears after her father says he believes that she will become a great, caring hero and that he is immensely proud of her. While walking towards the stage, Izuku gets emotional himself while reflecting on Ochaco's encouragement to him, when he was supposed to be the one to reassure her. Then suddenly, Endeavor appears in the corridor. The Flame Hero tells Izuku that his power is similar to All Might's, but Izuku brushes it off and tries to walk away. Endeavor continues, saying that he expects Izuku to fight Shoto hard to prepare him to surpass All Might. Aggravated, Izuku reminds Endeavor that he is not All Might and Endeavor's son is not him. Izuku walks away and ponders Shoto's proclamation to win the festival using only his right side. When Ochaco returns to her seat with the rest of the class, Tenya is alarmed by the marks on her face created from rubbing her tears away. He confesses that he'd be frustrated if he were in Ochaco's position. Fumikage advises her not to wallow in remorse, and instead use Izuku's match as a source of encouragement. The stadium goes wild with anticipation for the second round's first match between Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki. The two Sports Festival front runners exchange a few words, while Tenya, Ochaco, and Fumikage discuss how Izuku could win the match. Elsewhere, Tomura Shigaraki is advised to pay close attention to the match because the two boys may become formidable obstacles to him one day. Tomura simply replies that he's not worried about a couple of kids. Back at the stadium, Thirteen recalls that Shoto and Izuku tried to save All Might from the villains at the U.S.J. All Might responds by saying they have more in common with each other than they realize, each of them having an intense vibe about them. Izuku and Shoto take their battle stances and brace themselves for their epic bout.

Episode 10
Sat, Oct 20, 201823 mins
The fated duel between Izuku and Shoto has finally arrived. As soon as it begins, Shoto leads with an ice attack, but Izuku counters with a Delaware Smash. Shoto creates a pillar of ice behind him to keep him from being blown out of bounds, as he expected Izuku to break his finger in order to negate the ice attack. All Might comments that this was likely the only way Izuku could have retaliated. Izuku is forced to damage a second finger to stop Shoto's next attack and mulls over that he only has six more chances, and must find Shoto's weakness before he breaks all his fingers. Shoto doesn't let up and continues his onslaught of ice attacks. In Class 1-A's section of the stands, Eijiro returns from defeating Tetsutetsu. He sarcastically compliments Katsuki and Shoto for having techniques that blast through the whole stadium. Katsuki responds by explaining that Quirk's are physical abilities and can get worn out just like anything else. He takes a moment to ponder that this is the very reason he designed his costume in such a way so that he could go beyond his own limits. Shoto's assault continues, forcing Izuku to break the last finger on his right hand. However, Shoto withstands the smash and creates a tower of ice to run up and close the distance between them. Izuku uses another smash to break the ice steps apart, but Shoto avoids it and nearly freezes Izuku at close range. In order to break the ice that's slowly freezing him, Izuku sacrifices his entire left arm and lets off a full-powered smash. Shoto withstands the aftershock of the smash using an ice blockade. While recovering, Shoto notes that this attack from Izuku was significantly more powerful than the previous ones and that he realizes his opponent is trying to keep him at a distance. Izuku is startled by Shoto's combat awareness, and some viewing fans even comment that Shoto is already stronger than the average pro hero. Questioning Izuku's durability, Shoto asks if he's already too worn out from defending against the ice. Izuku doesn't respond, and instead, he notices that Shoto is shaking because of the frost that builds up on the right side of his body. Shoto apologizes for the intensity of the battle and thanks Izuku for helping him irritate Endeavor by only using ice rather than fire. Understanding that Izuku has no undamaged fingers left, Shoto sends an ice attack at him that he expects to finish the match. However, Izuku declares that he isn't finished yet and uses one of his already broken finger to blow Shoto's ice away. Shoto asks why Izuku is going so far. Izuku replies that Shoto is trembling and points out that Shoto's body can only take so much cold because Quirk's are physical abilities. He also surmises that Shoto could offset his temperature by using his fire, but knows Shoto refuses to do so. He challenges Shoto to put more effort into the battle, stating that everyone else is giving it their all while Shoto is only using half his power. Izuku provokes Shoto by claiming that he has yet to injure him in this battle, demanding that Shoto use his full strength. Agitated, Shoto rushes Izuku, albeit much slower than before. Katsuki notices Shoto's drop in mobility and assumes that it's because Shoto's stamina is running low after wasting so much of it fighting Hanta. Shoto closes in on Izuku, but as soon as he lifts his right foot to attack, Izuku controls One For All and strikes Shoto in the torso, sending him flying away. Shoto recovers and tries to use another ice attack, but it's much slower than the previous ones and Izuku is able to avoid it. They both move into closer quarters and fight in spite of their afflictions. Cementoss urges Midnight to stop the match because Izuku is fighting too recklessly by continuing to injure his already broken fingers with more smashes knowing that Recovery Girl will heal him. Shota retorts that Izuku isn't fighting recklessly, he's simply doing everything he can to win the match within his current skill level. He also commends Izuku for his resolve and ponders his student's intent. As Izuku dashes at Shoto, the latter attempts to freeze him. Without any fingers left to use, Izuku pulls back his thumb using his cheek in order to release another smash to blast Shoto away. Shoto asks again why Izuku is putting himself through so much pain, to which his opponent replies is because he's prepared to do whatever it takes to become a hero. After headbutting Shoto, Izuku again challenges him to use his full strength, telling him to stop screwing around because even if he wants to reject his father, Shoto doesn't have the right to be the best if he's not prepared to do his best. Izuku's words make Shoto recall the terrible memories of his past. As more frost covers his body, Shoto remembers he and his mother being abused by Endeavor. As well as a time where he pleaded to his mother about not wanting to become like his father, to which she replies by asking if Shoto still wants to become a hero. Izuku capitalizes and strikes Shoto with another controlled One For All smash, and declares that he will surpass him. While reeling from the attack, Shoto is reminded of his childhood. He remembers that as a child he was constantly separated from his siblings, and when his mother finally had a mental breakdown from all the domestic abuse and burned his face. Endeavor had her put into a psychiatric ward, but Shoto blames him for his mother's breakdown. Still haunted, Shoto states once again that he will reject his father, but Izuku yells that Shoto's Quirk is his own, and not his father's. This invokes one last memory, one that Shoto had long forgotten. He and his mother were sitting down watching a special on TV about All Might. All Might encourages all children to use their Quirk's in their own way even though they inherited them from their parents. Shoto's mother adds that Shoto must remember to stay true to himself, that he is not a prisoner of his lineage, and that it's okay to use his power to become who he wants to be. Impassioned, Shoto decides to activate his fire and astounds the entire arena with his display of blazing power. All Might realizes that Izuku had been trying to provoke Shoto to this point in order to save him from rejecting not only half his power but half of himself. As the flames lower down and the frost melts from Shoto's body, he says that now Izuku is the one screwing around for helping his opponent. Shoto adds that just like Izuku, he desires to become a hero one day too. Having freed Shoto from his self-repression, Izuku smiles and comments that Shoto's power is amazing to which he responds with an affecting smile of his own. Ecstatic, Endeavor shouts proudly about Shoto finally using his fire. He walks down closer to the match and claims that Shoto will surpass him and live up to the reason for his birth. With the battle reaching its climax, Shoto asks why Izuku is grinning in such a hopeless situation with his injuries and states that he won't be to blame for anything that happens to Izuku next. They both power up in preparation for one final clash. Cementoss and Midnight decide to step in, fearing one of them might be killed. Shoto sends a large wave of ice at Izuku and around himself, but the latter jumps above it by using One For All in his leg. As he flies towards Shoto, he prepares a full power smash in his undamaged arm, and Shoto counterattacks by switching to fire and super-heating the area around him, thanking his opponent as he does so. Even though Cementoss builds a wall between them, Izuku's wind pressure and Shoto's heatwave tear through it as if it were only cotton threads, and the resulting shock-wave created by the collision of the attacks destroys the entire fighting ring, knocks over Midnight's stand, and sends a large whirlwind that blows over most of the audience. Everyone watches in pure disbelief, and after he recovers, Cementoss commends both of them for their talent. Present Mic asks what caused the explosion, to which Shota replies that it was caused by the rapid change in temperature of the arena. The smoke clears, and Izuku is revealed to be unconscious outside the ring. Everyone is taken back by the battle's outcome, and Midnight announces that Shoto Todoroki is the victor.

Episode 11
Sat, Oct 27, 201823 mins
In the aftermath of Izuku and Shoto's showdown, Katsuki finds himself annoyed as he overhears fans discussing the battle. Shoto exits the arena and encounters his father in the corridor. Endeavor praises Shoto for using his fire powers and offers him the chance to become his sidekick after graduation. Shoto ignores the offer and reveals he hasn't rescinded his disavowal of his father. He says the only reason he used his left side is because he forgot about Endeavor completely during that moment. As he walks away, Shoto says he remains unsure about his fire power and suggests he may not need Endeavor at all. Izuku is taken to Recovery Girl's temporary nurses' office where she informs Izuku that he has gravely injured his arm and requires surgery. She disapproves of Izuku pushing the limits of his body and scolds All Might for encouraging him to this point. Tenya, Ochaco, Minoru, and Tsuyu abruptly enter the room to check on their friend and inform him that matches have been postponed to repair the arena. Recovery Girl forces them all to leave so that she can prepare for surgery, further worrying the group. Despite being weak and injured, Izuku apologizes to All Might for letting him down, having focused more on helping Shoto than actually trying to defeat him. All Might replies that although Izuku was defeated, he still helped Shoto realize something very important about himself and states that meddling where someone doesn't have to is the essence of being a hero. The matches resume with the next one on one of the second bracket: Tenya vs Ibara Shiozaki. Ibara tries to attack using her vines, but Tenya opens up the battle using his Recipro Burst and quickly pushes her out of bounds to win the match. In the next match, Fumikage scores another quick victory by pushing Mina out of bounds with Dark Shadow. Tsuyu and Minoru comment on Fumikage's overwhelming strength and Ochaco remains concerned about Izuku's condition. Izuku is healed enough by Recovery Girl to walk and realizes that his hand has been permanently damaged from overusing his Quirk. Recovery Girl warns Izuku and All Might that she will no longer heal these self-inflicted injuries anymore and insists that they find a new way for Izuku to use One For All. All Might leads his protégé office and ponders Recovery Girl's suggestion. Izuku interrupts, suggesting that All Might find a new worthy successor because there were other competitors who gave the Sports Festival more effort then he did. All Might agrees that there are a number of incredible talents at the school but then reveals that he was Quirkless as a young man just like Izuku. Izuku is in disbelief that the Number One Hero was once without a power of his own, and All Might tells Izuku he reminds him of his former self. He goes on to praise Izuku because he has exceeded expectations repeatedly and even says that he believes Izuku will do incredible things with One For All one day. Encouraged by his mentor, Izuku promises to do his best and they both return to watching the remainder of the Sports Festival. Tenya tries to contact his brother, Tensei, after his match to discuss his victory. However, Tensei is off on a mission and sends his brother to voice mail. Tensei is searching throughout Hosu City and eventually locates and confronts the Hero Killer: Stain. Izuku returns to the stands in time for Katsuki and Eijiro's match but is upset he missed both Tenya and Fumikage's victories. Eijiro grazes Katsuki's cheek, cutting it open, and the latter counters with an explosion to Eijiro's side. Eijiro's hardening ability negates Katsuki's attacks, allowing him to draw out the match. Izuku is shocked to find that Katsuki is on the defensive, being forced to evade Eijiro's flurry of punches. Tenya happens upon Izuku, who congratulates him on his victory and suggests Ingenium must be proud. He tells Izuku that he tried to inform Ingenium but to no avail and that he will hopefully be able to later notify his brother of further victories in the festival. Katsuki counters Eijiro again, and this time he is able to do some damage despite Eijiro's hardened skin. He surmises that Eijiro's hardening gets weaker with every blow dealt and that his opponent has been straining to keep his entire body hard throughout their match. Katsuki capitalizes by barraging his opponent with a series of explosions until Eijiro eventually succumbs and falls unconscious. Tetsutetsu watches disapprovingly, having cheered on Eijiro throughout the battle. With Katsuki's victory, the final four remaining contestants are Shoto, Tenya, Fumikage, and Katsuki. Tenya leaves for his match and Izuku returns to the stands with Class 1-A. Ochaco is anxious about Izuku's condition, but he tells her he wants to watch the remaining duels because this is where all of his peers' efforts pay off. The bout between Shoto and Tenya begins with the former trapping Tenya between two rows of ice. He goes for another ice attack, but Tenya evades using a standing long jump and activates his Recipro Burst technique in mid-air. Shoto is able to evade Tenya's initial roundhouse kick but falls victim to the subsequent attack thanks to Tenya's blinding speed. Tenya tries to swiftly carry Shoto out of bounds but is stopped suddenly. He realizes that his mufflers have been frozen, and questions when Shoto did so. Shoto reveals that it was after getting hit with Tenya's second kick and suggests that Tenya had forgotten his ability to freeze with precision because he's only been showing off ranged attacks during the festival. After freezing Tenya's body completely, Shoto admits that his opponent's Recipro Burst was too fast to dodge. Shoto is declared the winner and Tenya grudgingly apologizes to his brother. Elsewhere, Ingenium falls victim to the Hero Killer, who claims that All Might is the only one worthy to call himself a true hero. Back at the festival, the duel between Katsuki and Fumikage is ongoing, with Fumikage being forced back by Katsuki's constant attacks. Momo and Mina comment that Fumikage battled much harder when he faced them, and realize that there must be a reason for his timidness. Izuku and Ochaco know that Fumikage's Quirk is weakened by light and state that Katsuki may not have figured it out yet. Fumikage mulls over Katsuki's brutality, worrying that he will soon run out of darkness. Katsuki continues to strike Dark Shadow and it attempts to grab him, but he evades and maneuvers behind Fumikage before unleashing his special move: Stun Grenade. Katsuki exploits Dark Shadow's weakness by covering the ring in light before pinning his opponent down. Fumikage asks if Katsuki knew his weakness all along, and Katsuki replies he figured it out by attacking repeatedly. Having been bested, Fumikage surrenders, allowing Katsuki to move on to the finals to face Shoto. Denki and Hanta are surprised by Katsuki's victory and Eijiro comments that Katsuki was the perfect person to exploit Fumikage's weakness. Itsuka teases Neito for making enemies out of Katsuki, but he replies that Katsuki was just lucky he got a match-up where his Quirk worked well against his opponent's. Tenya reunites with his class, greeting Ochaco and Izuku with a smile until his phone rings. He pardons himself to speak with his mother, who informs him that his brother has been severely injured by a villain. The aforementioned villain, Hero Killer Stain, looks over Hosu City after defeating Ingenium. Kurogiri warps to greet him and Stain responds by raising his guard. However, Kurogiri says they are of similar breed and that Stain may be interested in an offer.

Episode 12
Sat, Nov 3, 201824 mins
In the waiting room, Shoto ponders the conflicting thoughts of his mother's breakdown and Izuku's encouragement. He's interrupted when Katsuki abruptly kicks in the door and berates him for being in the wrong room. Katsuki quickly realizes that he is actually the one in the wrong waiting room, but decides to stay, irritated by Shoto's lack of acknowledgment. Katsuki tries to intimidate Shoto by slightly blasting the table and warning him to do his best. Shoto replies that Izuku had told him the same thing, and comments that he was foolish for trying to help him rather then winning the match. He asks Katsuki if Izuku was helpful during their childhood, but this only infuriates the former. Katsuki kicks over the table and yells for Shoto to ignore Izuku and his family issues so that he can use his fire during their bout. He angrily exits the room and states he wants everyone to know he beat Shoto at full strength. The final battle of the U.A. Sports Festival begins with Shoto using a more controlled version of the giant ice attack he defeated Hanta with. Katsuki endures the ice blast by tunneling through it using his explosions. Katsuki rushes Shoto, commenting that his attacks are powerful but he has bad aim and needs to try harder. Shoto moves to counter attack, but Katsuki evades using a mid air explosion and grabs onto Shoto's left side before throwing him. Shoto creates and surfs an ice wave to avoid going out of bounds. Katsuki attacks again and Shoto is able to stop him by evading his blast and grabbing onto his forearm. Rather than using the flames in his left arm, the same arm he used to grab Katsuki, he simply tosses him away. This only angers Katsuki, causing him to ask if he's unworthy of Shoto's flames. Eraser Head comments that Katsuki is continuing to show his aptitude for battle during the fight, but Shoto appears to have lost his spark after his match with Izuku. Aggravated, Katsuki demands Shoto use his fire so that he can defeat him at his best and prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is the strongest student at the festival. Shoto mulls over his opponent's words, internally apologizing to Katsuki because he is still too unsure about what his left side means to him to use it. Suddenly, Shoto is once again encouraged by a shouting Izuku, who tells him not to give up and to do his best. Impassioned once again, Shoto ignites his flames and prepares to counter Katsuki's next move. Katsuki is excited to see Shoto's fire and readies his special move: Howitzer Impact. Just as the two superpowers are about to clash, Shoto thinks about his parents and extinguishes his flames, leaving himself completely open to Katsuki's powerful explosion. Once the smoke from the blast clears, Katsuki realizes Shoto did not use his fire and, because of that, has been blasted outside the ring. He runs over to Shoto, even though he is unconscious, and furiously demands that he get back up and use his full power because he believes a victory in this manner is meaningless. Midnight uses her Quirk to knock the angered Katsuki out and declares him the victor of the battle, and first year champion of the U.A. Sports Festival. With the festival concluded, the awards ceremony begins. The first, second and third place contestants take the podium, but Katsuki is restrained due to his wild behavior, still furious that Shoto had thrown the match. Fumikage shares third place with Tenya, but the latter had to leave to check on the condition of his injured brother, Tensei. All Might arrives the distribute the awards, but he is annoyed when Midnight ruins his introduction, though she apologizes. Even so, he distributes medals to each of the three contestants. All Might advises Fumikage to train harder so that he doesn't rely so heavily on Dark Shadow and gives him the bronze medal. Then he awards Shoto the silver medal and asks why he didn't use his flames during the final fight. Shoto replies that although Izuku opened his eyes, he still doubts himself and believes his path to becoming a hero is still clouded. He also mentions that he understands why All Might has such an interest in Izuku. Lastly, All Might moves on to Katsuki, but the champion refuses the gold medal because he feels this has not proved that he is the best. All Might forces Katsuki to take it by putting it in his mouth, and then moves on to close out the ceremony. Afterwards, Shota excuses Class 1-A from the next two days of school to recuperate and announces they will review draft forms when they return. Elsewhere, Tenya arrives at Hosu General Hospital to check on his brother's condition. He rushes to Tensei's side, where the severely injured latter apologizes to him for failing as a role model. The next day, Shoto decides to visit his mother in the psychiatric ward, much to his sister's disapproval. Throughout his life Shoto believed the sight of him would only cause his mother more pain, so he never visited her. Nevertheless, Shoto needs closure from his mother so that he can continue on his path to becoming a hero without anything holding him back. He musters up the courage to approach her, and resolves to talk over everything and free her from the ward's custody. Ochaco finishes grocery shopping and returns home to her parents surprising her with a celebration for her efforts. Izuku's mom tells him she had fainted seven times during the Cavalry Battle at breakfast. He recalls telling her he acquired a Quirk simply because he is a late bloomer. He also ponders how he can make One For All his own and become the true successor to All Might. Still fuming over the festival, Katsuki threatens his mouth germs while brushing his teeth, making his mother scold him for yelling so early in the day.

Episode 13
Sat, Nov 10, 201823 mins
Two days after the U.A. Sports Festival, normal classes resume at the school. Izuku Midoriya takes the train to school and is recognized from the festival by several other passengers. Once he reaches school grounds, Tenya Ida pressures him to hurry to class. They talk by their lockers and Tenya tells Izuku that everything involving his brother is fine before they go to class. There, the other students in the class discuss how the sports festival has made them recognizable to the public. They quiet down once Shota Aizawa walks in without his bandages, having recovered completely from his injuries. He announces that their homeroom class will be on Hero Informatics, causing many of the students to panic and believe they may have a test. Instead, Shota reveals that they will choose their code names and the class jumps up in excitement to pick hero identities. The professor tells the class that this has a lot to do with the Pro-Hero draft picks and because they are only first years any offers can be taken back before they graduate. Then he shows them the draft results, where Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo lead the class with thousands of heroes wanting to recruit them. Denki is discouraged by the large gap between the thousands of nominations they received and only the hundreds he and the others received. Kyoka Jiro points out that Shoto had the most offers despite losing to Katsuki, and Momo Yaoyorozu congratulates him. Shoto doesn't appear to be too excited though and attributes the nominations to his father's influence. Hanta Sero claims that pros must have been reluctant to work with Katsuki because of his demeanor during the awards ceremony, to which he replies that if he scared them then they are just weak. Ochaco Uraraka is excited that she and Tenya received offers and Minoru Mineta points out that Izuku didn't receive any because of the reckless way he fought against Shoto. Although like Izuku, some students didn't receive any offers, Shota informs the class that they will all spend a week interning with Pro-Heroes. While Shota reminds them of the importance of choosing their hero names, Midnight arrives and tells the class that she will have final approval over the names. After she hands out canvases to write on, Midnight tells the class they must present the names they've chosen. Most of the class are too nervous to go up, so Yuga Aoyama reveals his name first. He chooses "I can not stop twinkling" and although most of his peers find the name strange, Midnight simply shortens it to Can't Stop Twinkling and moves on. Mina Ashido tries to choose "Alien Queen" as her label, but Midnight doesn't allow her to compare herself to the villain from Ridley Scott's movie franchise causing the class to worry. Tsuyu Asui picks the title "Rainy Season Hero: Froppy" and the class responds cheerfully since she chose a normal name in comparison to the initial two. Eijiro Kirishima goes up next and reveals he chose to brand himself after his idol "Crimson Riot" by choosing the namesake "Sturdy Hero: Red Riot". This reminds Izuku of his childhood, where he chose many playful hero names after his idol, All Might. He loved choosing those names as a child but realizes he cannot do so now with so much training left to do in order to be compared to All Might. Kyoka notices Denki Kaminari struggling to choose a name and suggests "jamming-way". Denki likes it until Kyoka admits it's just a way of making fun of him. Then she goes in front of the class and announces that she's chosen "Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack" as her moniker. Mezo Shoji chooses "Tentacle Hero: Tentacole", Hanta Sero selects "Tape Hero: Cellophane", Mashirao Ojiro picks "Martial Arts Hero: Tailman", Rikido Sato takes "Sweets Hero: Sugarman" and Mina Ashido changes her name to "Pinky". Midnight loves the chosen titles and continues to approve the others with Denki Kaminari choosing "Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt", Toru Hagakure picking "Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl", Momo Yaoyorozu selecting "Everything Hero: Creati" and Shoto Todoroki electing to simply use his first name. Fumikage Tokoyami choose "Jet Black Hero: Tsukuyomi", Minoru Mineta picks "Fresh Picked Hero: Grape Juice", Koji Koda silently selects "Petting Hero: Anima" and Katsuki Bakugo tries to use "King Explosion Murder", but Midnight says his name is a little too violent. Ochaco Uraraka goes up next and reveals "Uravity" as her chosen name. This leaves only Katsuki, Tenya and Izuku left to choose their alias'. While trying to select his name, Tenya recalls visiting his brother in the hospital. Tensei Ida informs Tenya that he has been paralyzed and that he will pass the name "Ingenium" onto his younger brother. Despite his brother's wishes, Tenya elects to use his real name instead. Midnight calls Izuku up next and his classmates are surprised to see he has chosen the moniker of "Deku". Izuku explains that although he used to detest the nickname, Ochaco taught him it could have a different meaning and he's had a change of heart. Elsewhere in the staff room, Cementoss informs All Might that an offer has come in for Izuku. When All Might checks who's after his protégé, he is astounded to find out who it is. Code name selecting ends after Midnight denies Katsuki's elected name change "Lord Explosion Murder". Shota returns to the interning topic they discussed beforehand. He explains that students who received offers will choose from among their nominations, all the others will use a different list with about forty agencies. Midnight suggests that the students choose an agency that best suits their aspirations, and then Shota dismisses them. While looking through the list of his many offers, Shoto spots that he received a nomination from his father's agency. During lunchtime, Mina asks her peers whether they've chosen an agency yet. Minoru says that he's picked Mt. Lady's agency and Tsuyu suggests he only chose her because he's perverted. Mashirao notes that it's odd Mina didn't receive offers despite making it to the second round of the finals and Ochaco tries to ask Izuku who he's chosen. Her and several other students catch Izuku muttering to himself while trying to make a selection. Ochaco reveals she's chosen the Battle Hero: Gunhead's agency because she wants to get stronger and gain a different perspective from being a rescue hero. Then, she notices Izuku working out by hovering slightly above his seat and Katsuki is annoyed when his peers start to talk about Izuku. At the end of the school day, Izuku agrees to walk home with Ochaco, who notices Tenya has already left. Before they leave, All Might suddenly appears in the doorway and takes Izuku aside to inform him about his nomination. All Might discloses that his former homeroom teacher, Gran Torino, extended the offer to Izuku and that he knows about One For All. Izuku is excited to hear the news, but All Might appears to be fearful as he's reminded of his old teacher. Meanwhile, Aizawa notices that Tenya chose a lower class offer from a hero in Hosu City. Izuku reunites with Ochaco, and informs her that he got an offer. They both notice Tenya has left school already and Izuku recalls hearing about Ingenium on the news, having been taken out by the Hero Killer: Stain. On the first day of the internships, Shota dismisses the students after giving out their costumes. Before Tenya leaves for Hosu, Izuku and Ochaco approach him. They advocate for him to talk to them if he's feeling helpless and asks if he's comfortable doing so because they are all friends. He affirms their friendship and walks away, changing his expression from a smile to a vengeful glare. Afterwards, Izuku travels to Gran Torino's house and is frightened to find him inside playing dead.

Episode 14
Sat, Nov 24, 201823 mins
Izuku meets Gran Torino at his house and is instantly thrown off by the old man's bizarre demeanor. Not only does he pretend to be dead after falling with a plate of sausages and ketchup, but he also constantly asks Izuku his name and forgets it immediately afterward. Concerned Gran Torino isn't the in the correct mental state to train him, Izuku tries to make a call to All Might, and then notices Gran Torino going through his new costume. Suddenly the old man's attitude changes completely to a more serious tone when he asks Izuku to try and hit him with a One For All Smash. Then he goes right back to his clueless state, prompting Izuku to try and excuse himself. Gran Torino doesn't allow Izuku to leave and uses his Quirk to jump around the room at high speed before challenging Izuku once again to try and use a smash on him. He comments that Izuku used his Quirk far too recklessly during the Sports Festival and All Might hasn't been teaching him well. Izuku realizes Torino was acting and makes the connection between Gran Torino's bizarre personality and All Might's, realizing that he is truly All Might's teacher. Gran Torino continues using his Quirk to move quickly around the room, often striking Izuku from behind. Izuku eventually reads his movements and attempts to punch him, but Gran Torino avoids it and pins Izuku to the ground, defeating him. Gran Torino tells Izuku that his admiration of All Might is holding him back and that his movements are far too stiff even though he understands the Quirk's fundamentals. He leaves Izuku behind to buy food as the young man ponders his advice. In Hosu City, Tenya has chosen to intern at Normal Hero: Manual's office. As they patrol the streets together, Tenya mulls about thoughts of the Hero Killer and attempting to find him in Hosu. Elsewhere, Stain meets with Tomura and Kurogiri to discuss joining their ranks. When he questions Tomura's convictions, he's disappointed to find out he's simply trying to destroy anyone he doesn't like. Kurogiri wishes to step in, but his master orders him to stand aside so that Tomura may learn from the experience. Back at Gran Torino's apartment, Izuku thinks over his new mentor's words until he comes to the realization that he needs to treat One For All as an extension of himself rather than just trying to summon it to use special moves. Eavesdropping from outside the door, Gran Torino muses about Izuku's potential. In the center of Tokyo, Katsuki arrives at Best Jeanist's Hero Agency. Best Jeanist admits that he isn't very fond of Katsuki because of his attitude despite being talented enough to take on as a sidekick. Katsuki is irritated by the Number 4 Hero's lecture and tries to approach him, forcing the Pro to restrain him using his Quirk. Best Jeanist continues, stating that he will transform Katsuki into an exemplary hero by the end of their time together. At Fourth Kind's Hero Agency, Eijiro and Tetsutetsu discover they have both chosen to study under the Chivalrous Hero: Fourth Kind. Ochaco learns from the Battle Hero: Gunhead, and Momo joins Itsuka in interning with the Snake Hero: Uwabami. Kyoka trains with Death Arms, Minoru is put to work by Mt. Lady and Tsuyu appears to be working with the Navy. Shoto chooses to intern with his father's agency and Endeavor tells him they're going out to the city to work. That night, Gran Torino falls asleep after getting food. Izuku ventures out into an alleyway to train himself to use One For All more fluently. He fails to scale the alley several times until eventually morning comes and Gran Torino finds him exhausted. Gran Torino tells his new protégé that All Might could use One For All from the start and only required combat training, so Izuku is being taught in a very different manner. He is also surprised to learn All Might hasn't told Izuku anything about the Seventh Holder of One for All. They receive a new microwave in the mail after breaking it in the previous day's training. Gran Torino instructs Izuku to heat up the food he bought, but Izuku messes it up by not allowing the food to rotate in the microwave while they cook. After Gran Torino berates him for fouling up the frozen pastries, Izuku makes the connection between the food and himself. He realizes that like the pastries, he needs to let the energy flow equally through all parts of himself evenly. Gran Torino watches closely as Izuku spreads One For All's power throughout his body continuously, impressed with how quickly he caught on to his symbolic lesson. Then he challenges Izuku to a rematch using his newly mastered ability: Full Cowl.

Episode 15
Sat, Dec 1, 201823 mins
Gran Torino tells Izuku that if he can move while having One For All coursing through his body, then he will be at a completely different level than he was during the Sports Festival. Then he gives him three minutes to try and land a smash in his new state. As soon as their mock battle begins Gran Torino stops the flow of One For All's power by striking Izuku from several angles. Unable to counter due to Gran Torino's speed, Izuku hides underneath a table to buy enough time to activate Full Cowl. Gran Torino moves to attack the couch, but Izuku sends it flying at him, giving him enough time to re-activate his new power. Izuku leaps into the air and nearly hits the old man, but Gran Torino is able to counter and get behind Izuku. Thanks to his newfound maneuverability, Izuku evades by jumping above Gran Torino and tries to use a smash on him. Once again Gran Torino proves to be too fast and just narrowly dodges the smash before headbutting Izuku into a wall. The old man informs Izuku that his three minutes are up and Izuku laments over his inability to maintain Full Cowl. Gran Torino replies that Izuku has already improved since their bout the previous day. He thinks to himself about how Izuku may turn out to be amazing after actually managing to graze his cheek and force him to dodge seriously. They plan on continuing training after breakfast, but all of the food was spilled onto the ground, forcing Izuku to run out to get more. Meanwhile, Izuku's classmates continue interning at their respective agencies. Ochaco trains her body with Gunhead while Fourth Kind scolds Eijiro and Tetsutetsu for making lukewarm coffee. Katsuki regrets his decision as Best Jeanist styles his hair and lectures him about having the appearance of an elegant hero. Momo and Itsuka continue to shadow Uwabami, still trying to understand the bigger lesson in accompanying her to all of her side jobs. At U.A. High School, Detective Tsukauchi meets with All Might to discuss what he's learned about Nomu. The Police Force has deduced that Nomu was formerly a low level thug who's been bio-engineered to hold multiple Quirks at once. His brain's processing power has been reduced because of this, making Nomu unable to think for himself. Naomasa explains that despite having multiple people's DNA, Nomu still shouldn't have various Quirks. He theorizes that someone else has the ability to grant other people Quirks. Astonished, All Might transforms into his hero form and states his concern that perhaps he is back again. Elsewhere, Stain has overpowered Tomura and Kurogiri at their hideout. He states that the League of Villains will always be aimless weaklings without convictions. Tomura tries to order Kurogiri to send Stain away, but he is unable to move due to Stain's Quirk. As Stain's knife draws closer to the palm on his face, Tomura gets angry and grabs the knife, disintegrating it. He states that if the world wants to worship All Might, then he'll crush the symbol of peace and then the entire world. Stain leaps back and agrees that they both desire to destroy the present and he will allow Tomura's warped convictions to grow. Tomura doesn't want Stain to join the league, but Kurogiri pleads for him to reconsider. Stain asks to be returned to Hosu City so that he can purge the remaining fake heroes there. In Hosu City, Tenya surmises that Stain will follow the pattern of attacking four heroes in every city he shows up in. He's only attacked Tensei in Hosu, so Tenya figures that he will appear again, and when he does Tenya plans on disposing of the Hero Killer himself. Back at Gran Torino's apartment, the retired hero decides to take Izuku out to fight real villains to avoid developing weird habits from training together. He plans on getting Izuku experience by fighting different types of villains and leads him to the train station to travel to Tokyo. Izuku notes that their train will pass Hosu City and plans to try and contact Tenya. Tenya continues to patrol the streets with Manual, and the Pro Hero asks him if he's actually pursuing the Hero Killer. He's surprised that Manual was able to figure it out. Then Manual lectures him that Pro Heroes must never use their Quirks for their own selfish desires. Tenya replies that he understands, but he mulls about his burning hatred. Tomura and Kurogiri follow Stain to the city. After they further discuss Stain's goal to destroy false heroes, Stain moves to attack more Pros. Kurogiri tries to explain that Stain's work has been effective, but Tomura refuses to join up with him and orders three new Nomu's to attack the city in order to destroy the Hero Killer. While passing through Hosu City, Gran Torino tells Izuku that it will be more fun arriving later in the night because there will be more fights breaking out. Izuku takes a moment to text Tenya, but doesn't receive a reply. Then suddenly one of the train passengers comments that a building has exploded and one of the Nomu's breaks into the train, having overpowered a Pro-Hero. Gran Torino leaps into action and tackles the Nomu out of the train and into the city. Izuku cries out his mentor's name just as he notices several areas of the city going up in flames. Manual and Tenya rush to try suppress the conflict, but Tenya notices the Hero Killer in an alleyway. Stain prepares to finish off the Pro Hero Native and Tenya saves him by drawing the villain's attention. Tenya tries to kick Stain, but he uses his katana to counter and knock Tenya's helmet off. He warns Tenya to leave because even children may become his targets. Tenya furiously replies that Stain is the criminal that attacked his older brother, and that he will defeat him in Ingenium's place as the successor to his sibling's moniker. Stain notices Tenya's vengeful intent, and tells the young man to prepare for death.

Episode 16
Sat, Dec 8, 201823 mins
In the aftermath of a sudden attack from a Nomu look-alike, Izuku exits the train and searches Hosu City for Gran Torino. He ponders whether this Nomu is related to the other, and uses his newly mastered abilities to navigate the city. Meanwhile, the aforementioned retired hero battles with Nomu. He is able to evade most of its attacks, claiming that its movements aren't anything special. The Nomu decides to indiscriminately attack nearby civilians. Gran Torino goes to stop him, but then Nomu is suddenly engulfed in flames. Endeavor appears, having been the one to scorch the creature. He tells the elderly hero that he will handle Nomu. When the civilians question Endeavor's appearance, he replies that he is there because he is a hero. Izuku eventually happens upon an ensuing battle between pro heroes and other Nomu's after hearing Manual cry out Tenya's name. Tenya is absent from the scene, and Izuku realizes that he must have went off in search of Hero Killer: Stain. A pro hero warns Izuku to move away from the battle and so he leaves to search for his friend. Watching from a nearby building, Tomura praises the Nomus for the chaos they have created. His master loaned him the Nomu's so that he could kill Stain, only because Tomura doesn't like him. Kurogiri asks if Tomura will join, but Tomura replies that he won't due to his injury. Concurrently, the Hero Killer tries to strike Tenya down, but is met with a high speed kick as a counter. Stain avoids it and kicks Tenya to the ground while stating he allowed Ingenium to live so that news of his own exploits would spread. Then he pins Tenya down and stabs him in the shoulder, claiming Tenya is weak just like Ingenium because they are false heroes. The vengeful brother rebukes Stain's claim and defends his brother's honor, saying that Tensei was a splendid hero. Tenya promises to kill Stain to avenge his brother but is shocked when Stain responds by telling him to save the injured pro hero, Native, first. Stain licks the blood from his blade, and suddenly Tenya is unable to move his body. Stain preaches that Tenya must act selflessly by rescuing others first, not selfishly brandishing his powers. Stain goes on to say that seeking revenge just to satisfy one's selfish desires is the furthest thing from what a hero should be, and that's why Tenya will die as an offering to a more just world. Tenya refuses Stain's words because he is the criminal who hurt his brother. During Izuku's search for Tenya, he surmises that the League of Villains and Stain must be connected somehow. Most of Stain's attacks on heroes have been in unpopulated areas. Using that information, Izuku decides to search all the alleyways close to Manual's Hero Office and eventually finds Stain just as he's about to finish Tenya. Izuku acts swiftly, using One For All's power to deliver a powerful smash to save his friend. He tells Tenya they need to move to a more open area so pro heroes can support them, but the former reveals he's unable to move ever since Stain cut him. Izuku surmises that perhaps Stain's Quirk activates by cutting his opponents, and then realizes that Native has been injured as well. Unable to carry both of them away, Izuku bravely decides to protect them both by holding off the hero killer on his own. Stain warns Izuku that it's his duty to kill Tenya, and if the young man gets in his way that the weaker of the two powers will be culled. Intimidated, Izuku realizes that Stain is a totally different breed of villain than those at the U.S.J. and decides to send out his location information. Tenya pleads for Izuku not to get involved because it has nothing to do with him but he refuses, re-stating words he had once heard from All Might: That the essence of being a hero is meddling where they don't have to. Stain takes notice of Izuku's words and recognizes him from the photo Tomura showed him earlier. Their duel begins as Izuku uses Full Cowl to swiftly close the distance between him and Stain, effectively negating the advantage of the former's longer reach. The hero killer tries to slash Izuku with a knife using his free hand, but the young hero slides through his legs. Stain moves to counter by swiping his katana behind him, but Izuku promptly evades by jumping above Stain. Then, Izuku uses a 5% Detroit Smash and delivers a powerful blow to his opponents head. Surprised by Izuku's feat, Tenya compares his movement's to Katsuki's. Unphased by Izuku's attack, Stain licks the blood from his knife and immobilizes him. Izuku realizes that Stain managed to graze him, and that blood is the key to activating his Quirk. Stain is impressed with Izuku's skill and conviction, and decides that Izuku is worth allowing to live because he is different from Tenya and Native. The Hero Killer prepares to take the lives of his next two victims, but is abruptly forced back when a stream of fire comes at him. Shoto appears suddenly, scolding Izuku for not explaining the urgency of the situation because he could have gotten there sooner. He explains that it took him a while to decode Izuku's message since he only sent his location. He sends a wave of ice at Stain to repel the villain while securing his injured allies. Shoto also notes that he realized Izuku must have needed help and not to worry because pro heroes are on the way. As he continues to push Stain back using both his ice and fire, Shoto warns the hero killer that he will not allow him to kill his friends. Izuku warns Shoto not to allow Stain to ingest his blood and Shoto decides to keep his distance. However, Stain quickly throws a knife at Shoto, who narrowly evades it and has his cheek cut open. Stain rushes Shoto and is blocked by a pillar of ice, howbeit he tossed his katana in the air at the same time to distract his foe. Abstracted, Shoto nearly allows Stain to lick the blood from his face but repels him using fire. Shoto counter attacks with waves of ice, but Stain grabs his katana to defend himself and commends Shoto for his strength. Tenya pleads for Shoto to stop because he's inherited Ingenium's name, and only he should stop the hero killer. Withal, Shoto replies that Ingenium never had the look of vengeance plastered on his face. He creates a giant wall of ice, but Stain slashes through it and tells Shoto that it's foolish to block his own view when his opponent is father then him. Then Stain stabs Shoto's left with two throwing knives and moves above him. Just as he's about to stab Shoto from above, Izuku unexpectedly grabs him and tackles him away. Shoto guesses that Stain's Quirk may have a time limit, but Native explains that Izuku was the last to suffer from it, so that cannot be the case. Izuku comes to the conclusion that Stain's power's effectiveness varies depending on blood type, to which the Hero Killer confirms. Izuku resolves to distract Stain while Shoto supports him from behind since the former has already shed so much blood. Although reluctant to the risk, Shoto agrees to protect Tenya and Native together with Izuku. He recalls worrying about Tenya ever since Ingenium was attacked because he recognizes someone who's acting on pent-up resentment. Shoto also knows too well how that negativity can cloud someone's judgment. Shoto recollects visiting his mother, and how visiting her cleared up his own perception. He told her everything that happened and so she apologized and forgave Shoto for not visiting her for a long time. She also encourages him to move forward in his life without anything holding him back, as that would be her salvation. That's why he decided to intern with Endeavor's agency, not because he has forgiven his father, but because he wishes to learn from the experience of the number two hero. Shoto realizes that everything could have been simpler for him, but never noticed until Izuku opened his eyes with just a few words. With the intensity increasing, Stain heightens his strength and overpowers Izuku. He cuts open his leg and licks the blood to paralyze him. Shoto supports him, but Tenya again pleads for them to stop. Shoto rejects his plea, tells Tenya to stand up and look properly at who he wants to become. Stain slashes through a wall of ice and goes to attack Shoto, who responds by releasing his fire. After Shoto tries to save Tenya like Izuku had done for him, Tenya reflects shamefully on himself and starts to move his hand.

Episode 17
Sat, Dec 15, 201823 mins
Shoto encourages Tenya to never forget the man who he wants to become. Ashamed to have caused his friend's injuries, Tenya recalls memories of years ago when Tensei became the motivation for him to become a Hero. Shoto continues to try and force Hero Killer: Stain back, prompting the villain to comment that the young man relies too heavily on his Quirk in combat. Tenya comes to the realization that Stain was correct in stating that he isn't a true hero and decides that he must stand up if he wants to truly become a aspiring hero like Tensei, Izuku and Shoto. Just before Stain slashes Shoto with his Katana, Tenya's Recipro Burst enhanced kick breaks it. Tenya apologizes for getting his friends involved, but Stain refutes this and states that Tenya will never reform into a true hero. Shoto tells Tenya not to listen to the villain's words, but Tenya agrees that he isn't a true hero. Nevertheless, Tenya believes he can't give up or else the name of Ingenium will die. Stain attacks again, but Shoto forces him back using his fire. Native urges Shoto to flee, but he refuses and says that Stain won't give him an opening. Although Shoto realizes that Stain's Quirk isn't especially effective in a battle against multiple opponents, he notes that Stain has only gotten more tenacious in his attempts to kill his targets. Tenya intercepts one of Stain's throwing knives targeting Shoto, then asks his classmate to freeze his radiators. Stain pins down Tenya using another knife and Izuku regains his mobility. Shoto does as Tenya asks, allowing him to unveil his new special move: Recipro Extend. Tenya and Izuku then rush Stain by using their Quirks to scale the alleyway and strike the Hero Killer simultaneously. Elsewhere in Hosu City, Endeavor and Gran Torino continue their bout with one of the Nomus. It was able to withstand Endeavor's Hellflame Quirk and absorb it before releasing it back out. Endeavor notices that his opponent still receives damage from his initial attack and states that its absorption and release Quirk is weak. Gran Torino adds that the Nomu has several Quirks and then promptly defeats the Nomu by slamming it into the road. He asks Endeavor to join him in supporting the other Pro Heroes fighting against the remaining Nomus. However, Endeavor recalls Shoto asking him to send support to a certain location and requests Gran Torino go there instead. Stain reels back from the students' teamwork and tries to slash Tenya. Tenya evades and kicks the villain higher into the air, where Shoto finally connects with a blast of fire. Then, he freezes a path for Izuku and Tenya to fall down while restraining Stain at the same time. After all the fighting, the three students notice that Stain has finally been defeated. Endeavor reaches the other Pro Heroes and stops a Nomu just before it crushes one of them. He takes note of its regenerative abilities and then incinerates Nomu's head so that the carbonized cells can't regenerate. The last remaining Nomu starts to flee and Endeavor urges the other Pro's to support Gran Torino while he pursues it. The Nomu carries an injured person with it so the number two hero is careful to strike its head using a flaming lance. The Nomu releases its grip on the Pro and Endeavor catches them. Shoto restrains the defeated Hero Killer using rope and Native carries an injured Izuku out to the street. Gran Torino meets them there and berates Izuku for leaving the train against his orders. The other Pros arrive to call an ambulance for the injured and the police to arrest the Hero Killer. Tenya takes a moment to apologize to his friends for getting them mixed up in the fight. Suddenly, the last Nomu swoops down from the sky and snares Izuku. Before it gets too far away, Stain recovers and uses his Quirk to stop it. He saves Izuku by grabbing him and stabbing Nomu's brain. In spite of being heavily injured, Stain states that the "fake" pro heroes and the pathetic criminals in society must be purged to create a more just society. Everyone is taken back by his actions and Endeavor arrives. Stain is enraged by Endeavor's arrival and challenges all the heroes to try and defeat him in battle. The bandages over his face fall off and Stain releases a malicious aura that paralyzes everyone with fear, making even Endeavor step back. The Hero Killer prepares to attack, but his perforated lungs cause him to lose consciousness. Even though he was incapable of fighting, Stain was the only one left standing to face his opponent.

In the aftermath of the Nomu assault on Hosu City, two news reporters notice Tomura and Kurogiri overlooking the city. Tomura angrily decays his binoculars and Kurogiri questions if he's unsatisfied with the result. Tomura responds that it all depends on tomorrow. The next day arrives, Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya are all recuperating at Hosu General Hospital. Izuku concludes that Hero Killer: Stain allowed them to live, to which Shoto agrees. Shoto commends Tenya for his bravery but Tenya refutes the praise. Manual and Gran Torino enter the room and introduce the students to the Chief of the Hosu Police Force: Kenji Tsuragamae. The police chief informs them that Stain is being treated for serious injuries and that they must be punished for yesterday's incident because they are uncertified individuals using their Quirks for violence without superior permission. This upsets Shoto, who claims that if they had not acted then Native would have been killed. He prepares to lash out at Kenji, but Gran Torino instructs him to allow the police chief to finish. Kenji admits that this was his opinion as a member of the Police Force and reveals that they would have been punished had it been an official disclosure. Since there were not enough witnesses to report the incident regarding Stain the incident will remain undisclosed. However, as a result, Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya will not get any recognition for their valiant efforts. Shoto says that the chief should have lead the conversation with that, and the trio thank him for pardoning them. Kenji says that Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya have a promising future awaiting them and thanks them for their heroic actions. The news of Stain's arrest spreads through the country like wildfire, with Endeavor receiving all the credit. Tomura is upset that the Nomu didn't receive enough publicity in comparison to Stain, who he wished the world forgot about completely. The newspaper mainly publishes Stain's feats and that his name will go down in history while the news on the Nomu is undermined. Katsuki and Best Jeanist's sidekicks receive a lecture from the number four hero regarding their need to stay calm and ignore the chaos that arose in Hosu. Eijiro confirms that the location Izuku sent out earlier was an SOS, but he and Tetsutetsu are caught and punished by Fourth Kind for being late to the internship. Momo and Itsuka are finally able to go out on patrol with Uwabami after filming a commercial with her and Ochaco calls Izuku about the incident. Back at the hospital, Tenya tells Izuku that his hand has received serious damage. Although it can be healed through surgery, Tenya states that he won't get it healed until he's become a true hero and use it as a reminder of his foolish actions. Izuku can relate and says he will do the same with his crooked hand. They make a pact to become strong together, but Shoto feels guilty that they both hurt their hands in skirmishes involving him. Shoto claims he isn't joking, but Tenya and Izuku laugh in response. Gran Torino calls All Might and berates him because Izuku got his teaching license revoked and his pay docked. All Might apologizes and blames it on his own inadequate teaching. Then Gran Torino goes on to compare Stain's ideology and charisma to All Might's and states that it's likely that the Hero Killer will inspire others. All Might replies that heroes will rise to defeat them, but Gran Torino responds that the League of Villains will rally them under Stain's ideology since there has been a connection between them. Gran Torino hypothesizes that the old enemy, the villain who killed All Might's predecessor and gave Toshinori his scars, All For One has returned. Toshinori is shocked that "All For One" has returned, not wanting to believe it. Gran Torino advises Toshinori to reveal to Izuku everything about himself and One For All when the opportunity arises and ends the call. Two days later, a viral video of Stain's backstory and ideology has spread widely throughout Japan. Two men discuss it in a hostess bar after one of them claims he may retire because of the drop in crime due to All Might's presence. The man smoking the cigarette states that Stain's words before falling unconscious will inspire many criminals into uniting with the organization Stain was believed to be allied with; the League of Villains.

Izuku remains at Hosu General Hospital on the fifth day of the internships. Tenya left on the day of his test results to be with his family. Shoto's injuries weren't as severe so he returned to his father's agency. As he departs, Shoto tells Izuku he hopes to shame his father since he helped defeat Stain and not Endeavor. After he leaves, Izuku ponders how everyone else's internships are going. Elsewhere, Katsuki and Best Jeanist patrol the streets. Best Jeanist asks Katsuki what the purpose of patrols are, to which he incorrectly answers is to beat up criminals on the spot. Best Jeanist is recognized by a group of fan-girls and he replies that patrols give public peace of mind. Katsuki is recognized by a group of young boys who make fun of him for the Sludge Villain incident. Katsuki angrily yells at them, forcing Best Jeanist to reprimand him. Katsuki tries to speak with them more nicely, but ends up yelling and making them cry again. This makes Best Jeanist worry Katsuki's pride will ruin his potential to be a great pro. At Gunhead's agency, the Battle Hero teaches Ochaco the basics of fighting against someone wielding a knife. Itsuka and Momo accompany Uwabami through the public as she's surrounded by her fans. Fourth Kind takes Eijiro and Tetsutetsu to clean up a local park, and Death Arms leads Kyoka through a real rescue mission. On the Oki Mariner ship docked by the sea, Tsuyu interns with Selkie and his sidekick Sirius. After she finishes cleaning the deck, Tsuyu has a conversation with Sirius on the reality of being a hero. It doesn't appear to be so glamorous as most students would think, but Sirius claims that she learned what was actually important about being a hero through her internship with Selkie. Tsuyu asks what it was, but Sirius says she needs to find out on her own. Then, Selkie finds them both sitting down and scolds them for not doing work. Sirius corrects him, stating that Tsuyu finished her chores and is being supervised properly. Selkie apologizes, and then one of his crew members says they've received a mission from the coast guard. The Oki Mariner departs to investigate a trade ship that had its cargo stolen by stowaways. Selkie takes to the water himself to search for the ship while Tsuyu and Sirius search via radar during the night. Their search turns up empty, but the crew receives a message that a boat thought to belong to the stowaways is in their general area after escaping another pursuer. Selkie returns to the ship after confirming the location of the boat and they eventually happen upon it. Selkie boards the ship without Tsuyu, much to her dismay. Onboard the fishing boat, Selkie and a couple of his crew-mates are trapped inside after being fooled. Using her Quirk, Sirius hears Selkie tell her this boat was a decoy and they must pursue the real stowaways. They find another boat hiding in the shadows of a large rock and board it. They are immediately attacked by the criminal ringleader: Innsmouth. Innsmouth wraps his tentacles around Sirius and threatens to crush her if Tsuyu doesn't tell her superiors to call off the search. Inspired by Sirius' words from earlier, Tsuyu gives away their location, angering Innsmouth. The villain attacks and Tsuyu jumps around to avoid his blows. She tries to use her tongue to secure Sirius, but Innsmouth grabs it and slams her into one of the rocks. He pins her down, but just as he prepares to finish her off, Selkie arrives to save the day. Innsmouth blinds him, but using his Quirk, he eco-locates and defeats the villain. Afterwards, Tsuyu tells Sirius she's discovered what's important about being a hero. The criminals are all arrested and the coast guard thanks Tsuyu for her involvement.

Come to the end of the week, workplace training concludes and Izuku must bid farewell to Gran Torino. He thanks his new mentor for helping him gain more control over his Quirk. Gran Torino reminds Izuku to stay within his 5% limit and remember that he has a lot to learn. Before he leaves, Izuku asks Gran Torino why he's not famous despite being very strong and having trained the number one hero. The old man reveals that he never had any interest in being a Pro and only became certified to use his Quirk because he needed to use his Quirk freely at a certain point in his past. He goes on to say that All Might will explain the rest. As Izuku walks away, Gran Torino returns to his senile state and asks Izuku his name. At first Izuku is disconcerted by it, but he soon realizes what Gran Torino is truly asking for and replies "Deku". Pleased with Izuku's response, Gran Torino waves him off and they go their separate ways. With their internships concluded, Class 1-A returns to U.A. High School and talk to one another about their experience. Eijiro and Hanta laugh and poke fun at Katsuki's new hairstyle. Mina commends Tsuyu and Kyoka for confronting real villains during the week. The girls ask Ochaco how she spent her internship and she replies that it was very fruitful, as she poses and practices her fighting form. Denki comments that she changed a lot during the week, but Minoru corrects him and claims that he realized all women are evil after he interned with Mt. Lady. Then Denki points out that the students who went through the most during the internships were Izuku, Shoto and Tenya. Most of the class approaches them and asks what happened, but Shoto says that Endeavor saved them from the Hero Killer instead of the truth. Mashirao admits he fears what may have happened if Stain had come to the U.S.J. and Denki replies that the Hero Killer is kind of cool because of his personality. Izuku scolds Denki for this, prompting the latter to apologize. Tenya admits Stain could be looked at as "kind of cool" but goes on to criticize the villain for killing for his own ends. Inspired to walk the heroic path once again, Tenya returns to his old form and loudly asks the class to take their seats. Everyone is annoyed by Tenya's loud antics, but Izuku think's he's cool for returning to the path of heroism. At Class 1-A's Hero Basic Training Class, All Might announces their lesson will consist of a rescue training race through Field Gamma (a metal labyrinth densely packed with steel factories). He explains that the class will be broken up into five four-man groups and race one group at a time towards a distress signal sent by the Symbol of Peace somewhere inside. The first group consists of Izuku, Tenya, Mina, Hanta and Mashirao. Their peers count out Izuku almost immediately because they believe his lack of mobility and drawbacks of his Quirk put him at a disadvantage, while thinking others had a better chance at winning. When the race begins, Hanta gets out to an early lead only to be suddenly passed by Izuku. Using Full Cowl at 5%, Izuku easily maneuvers throughout the terrain by swiftly jumping from one area to another, while leaving his classmates behind. Izuku recalls his training and believes it could help him win the race. As All Might and his peers are greatly shocked and amazed by his newly improved skills and better control of his Quirk. Shoto and Ochaco notice that Izuku's movements are very similar to that of Katsuki's. This deeply irritates Katsuki, who realizes that Izuku was getting stronger during his field training while Katsuki was wasting time with Best Jeanist. As Izuku races ahead of his opponents, focusing on controlling his Quirk to 5% when he abruptly loses his footing and falls. Hanta ends up winning the race, while the injured Izuku comes in last. All Might commends the group for improving their abilities since the beginning of the school year and reminds them to prepare for the end of term test. Then he approaches Izuku and secretly tells him he's is impressed with his improvement and gives him a thumbs up. He also tells his protégé to find him after to class so he can tell him more about One For All. Hero Basic Training ends and Class 1-A return to the locker room to change. In the boys' locker room, Minoru tells Izuku that he found a hole in the wall. He is deeply excited by the idea of peeping into the girls' locker room. Tenya reprimands Minoru for his behavior, but Minoru decides to look through the hole anyway. However, Minoru's eye is stabbed by Kyoka's earphone plug. In the girls' locker room, Momo, Toru, and Mina are annoyed with Minoru's antics and thank Kyoka for stopping him. Kyoka notices that during Minoru's rave about all the girls, she was the only one he failed to mention, thus feels dejected. Afterwards, Izuku meets with All Might. All Might apologizes for not being near during the Hosu City incident. Izuku asks his mentor not to apologize and instead explain what he meant earlier about explaining more about One For All. All Might starts by making sure Izuku understands that although Stain got his blood, he cannot obtain One For All unless Izuku wishes it. One For All cannot be forcibly stolen, although it can be forcibly passed on. All Might tells Izuku that One For All is a special Quirk and begins telling Izuku One For All's origin. He goes on to explain that One For All is derived from a Quirk that has existed since the beginning. Long ago when the phenomenon of Quirks first appeared and society had not adapted to them, the world was trapped in an age of upheaval and chaos. From that chaos, a man who could steal Quirks rose up to lead all of the people and took over Japan. Izuku questions whether this is all actually a fabrication and asks how it relates to One For All. All Might responds by telling Izuku that the evil ruler had the ability to give out Quirks, but often put people in a catatonic state who could not handle their powers, not unlike the Nomu. The man and his Quirk are named All For One. All For One gave his younger brother a Quirk that could culminate power because he was Quirkless and would constantly resent him for his evil deeds. The brother was actually only thought to be Quirkless, and actually had the ability to pass on his Quirk to other people. His Quirk combined with the ability to stockpile power created the origin of One For All. All Might notes the irony that justice is born in the bowels of evil. Izuku says he understands how One For All came about, but questions why his mentor is bringing up a villain from so long ago. All Might believes that the man stole a Quirk that granted him immortality and his brother was never able to defeat him. Instead, the brother passed down this power to later generations, who cultivated the ability until finally, All Might was able to wield it and defeat the man. All Might believes he is now the leader of the League of Villains and it is likely that Izuku will end up facing him one day, to which Izuku promises to do his best because he can do anything with All Might by his side. All Might isn't able to bring himself to tell Izuku that he probably won't be by his side when the time comes, and thanks him instead. The next day during homeroom class, Shota tells his class they will be going to a forest lodge during the summer break. However, Shota warns his students that if any of them fail to pass the end of term test, then they will be stuck in remedial school. Elsewhere, a man is surprised that Hero Killer Stain was captured but is still happy that things are going as he has foreseen. He exclaims that Tomura's position is to supervise and unify the new villains who have come to join the League of Villains. The man's doctor expresses doubt if Tomura can do his job and says that if the man stepped in things would be proceeding faster. The man asks the doctor to patch him up faster. The man reveals himself to be Tomura's sensei (the man who possesses All For One) and says that he will let Tomura do all the hard work so that he may become his successor as Tomura was born to do so. Sensei tells All Might to rejoice in the "transient" peace while he still can.

Episode 21
Sun, Jan 27, 201923 mins
Live on television, Minoru is watching a talk show debating if sexiness is needed in a heroic workplace. The show features Mt. Lady and Midnight, and they debate on how Midnight ended up getting laws changed with her former costume. Before long they end up fighting over their ages, much to Minoru's pleasure. Only a week away from final exams, Shota warns Class 1-A to prepare their minds and their bodies for the written and practical sections of the exam. Taking their midterm grades into account, much of the class discusses getting ready for the end of the term. Denki and Mina, scoring the lowest grades of the class, admit they haven't studied at all because of the events that have been taking place throughout the semester. Fumikage agrees, and Rikido notes that the test will be even more difficult than the midterms. Minoru teases Mina and Denki, saying that only the practical will be difficult because he has high grades in class. Izuku and Tenya try to encourage them to do their best, but Shoto intervenes and says it should be easy if they just pay attention in class. Denki is discouraged, but Momo offers to help tutor him for the written test. Several others hear her proposal and asked to be tutored as well. Excited, Momo promises to prepare a study session at her home. Eijiro comments to Katsuki on his different standards from his peers, to which Katsuki angrily declares he will tutor Eijiro himself. Yuga says that it's too late to try and cram for exams, but Mezo replies that Yuga needs to do some cramming himself. At lunch, Izuku and his peers question the nature of the practical exam when Neito suddenly appears and bumps into Izuku's head. He sarcastically apologizes and starts to criticize Class 1-A for being involved with the Hero Killer because they seem to keep getting into trouble. He only stops berating them when Itsuka appears and knocks him out. She then tells everyone an upperclassman informed her the practical test will entail fighting against robotic villains. Neito insults her for helping their class rivals, but she knocks him out again and drags him away, claiming they're not detestable like he claims. Returning to their homeroom class, Mina and Denki are excited to know that the practical exam involves fighting against robots. Mezo assumes this is because they have a hard time controlling their Quirks against real people. This irritates Katsuki, who states that regardless of whether the enemies are human or robotic, they need to control their Quirks to fight in any case. Then he calls out Izuku for using his moves during the rescue race and says he will get a better score on the finals than both he and Shoto. He storms out of class and Shota overhears him, leading him to worry if Katsuki is improving his attitude or getting worse. Afterwards, the students spend their last week before finals studying. Denki, Mina, Mashirao, Kyoka, and Hanta meet Momo at her luxurious estate to study. Izuku, Ochaco, and Tenya study on their own while Katsuki aggressively tutors Eijiro. They all undergo three straight days of written tests and then the day of the practical test arrives. Kyoka notices that many teachers are present for the exam. Shota knows that without a doubt they have some knowledge on the exercise test, to which Mina and Denki exclaim that it will be fighting against robots. Principal Nezu jumps out of Shota's scarf and reveals to Class 1-A that they will not be having a battle simulation against robots for their practical exam. Nezu explains that the recent surge of villains has caused the school to increase the quality of their training methods in order to increase the students' battle experience. From now on, U.A. students will be having battle simulations similar to real-life battles and Class 1-A will be the first students who will have real-life battle simulations. He goes on to reveal that Class 1-A's practical exam will be forming pairs and facing one of U.A.'s teachers in combat, shocking the whole class. The pairs and the teachers they will fight have already been decided. Shoto and Momo will be paired together to face Shota and Izuku and Katsuki will be paired together, much to their shock, to face All Might. Taking a look back on a few days earlier, the U.A. faculty hold a meeting to discuss changing the final exams. They fear fighting robotic villains will not be enough to prepare them for the villainous resurgence that is bound to take place. Even so, Cementoss and Present Mic worry pitting them against teachers will be unfair. Snipe responds by saying the teachers will need a handicap. Nezu concludes by saying they must keep students out of danger by making them stronger. Shota moves on to the topic of pairings. He says he's pairing Shoto and Momo together because of their over-reliance on their Quirks, so he will erase them in their bout. He goes on to state that Katsuki and Izuku have been paired because of their negative relationship, and it should be up to All Might to face them. The remaining Class 1-A pairs are revealed: Nezu versus Denki and Mina, Thirteen versus Yuga and Ochaco, Present Mic versus Koji and Kyoka, Ectoplasm versus Fumikage and Tsuyu, Midnight versus Hanta and Minoru, Snipe versus Mezo and Toru, Cementoss versus Rikido and Eijiro and Power Loader versus Tenya and Mashirao. The students will have thirty minutes to handcuff their teachers or escape the facility. Students' efforts to escape will teach them that it's okay to run and get help when there's a large difference in strength. Shota comments that Izuku, Shoto, and Tenya likely know this well from their encounter with Stain. Shoto remembers that he refused to run, and Tenya promises to learn from that mistake. All Might clears any student anxiety over feeling that escaping is their only option by showing them that all the teachers will be wearing ultra compressed weights. The weights are designed as a handicap and were developed by Mei Hatsume. Katsuki claims that the teachers underestimate them by giving them the opportunity to consider fighting back. Once the explanation concludes, the exam begins with Eijiro and Rikido facing off with Cementoss. While some students prepare strategies together, Izuku and Ochaco watch the first test on the monitor since they don't communicate well with their partners. The battle begins with Rikido and Eijiro using their Quirks to take on Cementoss. Cementoss creates a number of cement walls to block their path to him, but they try to force their way through. Izuku notices that this strategy will not garner them victory because, unlike the students, Cementoss doesn't have a time limit to his Quirk. He surmises the practical exam is pitting students against teachers that will exploit their weaknesses, forcing them to compensate. Eijiro and Rikido fail to do this and are ultimately defeated. The next pair to take the practical exam consists of Fumikage and Tsuyu. Immediately their opponent, Ectoplasm, creates clones of himself that surround the students. He states that all of the U.A. teachers will not hold back and are doing their best to crush the students.

Episode 22
Sun, Feb 3, 201923 mins
Tsuyu and Fumikage's practical exam stage against Ectoplasm commences. As soon as the battle starts, Fumikage and Tsuyu use a combination move to get to higher ground. Fumikage throws Tsuyu in the air with his Dark Shadow, and she does the same to him using her tongue. Meanwhile in the monitoring room, Izuku says he can't see how Ectoplasm's Quirk will exploit his opponent's weaknesses. Recovery Girl replies that it's a bad match-up for Fumikage. The test continues as Fumikage and Tsuyu try to escape through the upper floors. Ectoplasm uses his Quirk to create multiple clones that overwhelm Fumikage, but Tsuyu's support helps them both escape into a higher level. Recovery Girl notes that Fumikage's strength is in the speed of his attacks, but his weakness lies in close range combat. Tsuyu on the other hand has no clear weaknesses and can provide great support. Izuku agrees, recalling how helpful Tsuyu was during their fight at the U.S.J. The duo reach the end of the labyrinth, where Ectoplasm's real body guards the escape gate. He commends them for getting past his other clones, but questions how they plan to deal with his next technique. Ectoplasm uses his Giant Bite Detention technique to create a giant clone of himself that attacks and immobilizes the students. Now trapped, Fumikage summons Dark Shadow to have it try and escape. Ectoplasm repels it, as Dark Shadow can't compete in a hand to hand fight with him. Tsuyu reveals she swallowed the handcuffs before the match started in case this happened. She coughs them up and gives them to Dark Shadow, who she believes can win because Fumikage is so strong. In their final clash, Ectoplasm defeats Dark Shadow, but his leg ends up cuffed in the exchange. Ectoplasm praises the duo for their cleverness, and they pass the practical exam. Their victory is announced, and Momo takes special notice and recalls how easily Fumikage defeated her in the U.A. Sports Festival. The third match between Tenya and Mashirao vs Power Loader begins next. Power Loader uses his Quirk to burrow underground and create pitfalls in the dirt field. The students decide to work together to try and quickly escape. Mashirao climbs on Tenya's back and the latter uses Recipro Burst to run across the area. The ground collapses slower than Tenya can run across it, but Power Loader intercepts them before they reach the exit. Tenya acts Quickly and jumps before the holes form beneath them, then he asks Mashirao to wrap his tail around his leg. He uses Recipro Extend to spin himself around and create enough momentum to fling Mashirao across the field in the air. Power Loader tries to stop him, but Mashirao repels the teacher and crosses through the escape gate. Power Loader congratulates them on passing, and Izuku watches proudly from the monitors room. Afterwards, the fourth match begins. Shoto and Momo run through an urban city-like area while Shota searches for them. Shoto comes up with the idea for Momo to create objects continuously so when Shota finds them, she'll know. Once that happens, Shoto instructs Momo to run while he distracts the teacher himself. Momo desires to say something, but holds it back and agrees with Shoto's plan. She decides to make matryoshka dolls and praises Shoto for his quick thinking. She says that even though they're both students who got into U.A. through recommendations, she hasn't done anything exceptional like he has. Shoto interrupts, noticing Momo has stopped producing the dolls. They look around frantically, but Shota suddenly appears from above them. Shoto tells Momo to run and tries to hold Shota off, only to be swiftly captured. Shoto claims he can escape the restraints instantly, but Aizawa hands him from a light pole and throws caltrops beneath him. Shota tells Shoto that it was unwise for his plan to burden himself so heavily, and should have communicated better with Momo. As Momo makes haste for the escape gate, she nervously ponders whether she's making the right choices or not. Shota chases her down and nearly restrains her, but she uses her Quirk to get out of the bonds. Then she runs back towards Shoto, making Shota realize that her lack of confidence has allowed her to rely too strongly on Shoto. Shota knows that Momo is still just a fifteen year old girl and would like to help her regain her confidence, but says that's not his job at the moment. Momo regroups with Shoto with Shota in hot pursuit, making Momo too nervous to make a quick decision. Shoto encourages her to execute her plan instead, recalling that she may have wanted to say something at the start of the battle. Although she believes her plan can't succeed if Shoto's didn't, he tells her to do it anyway because he believes she's better at it then him. He backs up his confidence in her by revealing that he voted her to be class president. Momo realizes how disgraceful she's been acting and makes her move. She warns Shoto to close his eyes and throws the dolls into the air. When Shota hits them away, they open to flash grenades inside. When the flash of light goes off, Momo uses the opening to free Shoto slowly to avoid the caltrops. She says she has a special plan just to defeat Shota that she's had since the beginning. Shota notes that Momo has noticed his weakened Quirk, which suffered from his defeat at the hands of Nomu. They run away to try get out of his field of vision, but he stays on their tails. Momo says that assuming they can't use their Quirks is a bad assumption and for Shoto to keep checking if he can use his ice. Shota closes in and nearly restrain Shoto, but is forced to blink, giving Shoto the opening to create a giant wall of ice between them. Shoto notices Momo creating a cloth similar to Shota's capture weapon. Momo says that it's similar, but has a special material woven into it. Then they agree on Momo's plan to capture Shota over escaping. They move from behind the ice, wearing robes to negate Shota's Quirk, but he pursues anyway. He wraps them both up, but they reveal that the robes were covering mannequins. Momo creates a catapult that tosses the cloth at Aizawa and Shoto heats them up using his fire. Momo says the cloth is nitinol shape memory alloy, which returns to it's original, tighter shape when heated up. It does just that, and restrains Shota completely. With Shota already restrained, the students handcuff him. Shoto questions whether the plan went too smoothly, and Momo says that she initially missed the catapult lever, giving Shota an opening to stop them. However, he claims that played into their hands by jumping back because Shoto was still a threat under his robe. Shoto thanks Momo for helping him pass the exam, and she is brought to tears. Recovery Girl says that at the end of it all, Shota is just a softie. Later on, the fifth match reaches its climax. Ochaco and Yuga are close to the escape gate, but Thirteen has them caught in her Black Hole Quirk. They hold on to a railing to avoid being sucked up, but Thirteen continues to get closer. Yuga tries to counterattack using his costume's ability to transmit his naval laser, but she sucks that up too. Ochaco tries to come up with a plan, but Yuga notices that and questions whether she was trying to think what Izuku would do. He then asks if she likes him.

Episode 23
Sun, Feb 10, 201923 mins
Thirteen has Ochaco and Yuga trapped, and walks ever closer to them using her Quirk. Yuga asks if Ochaco likes Izuku, embarrassing her to the point where she lets go of the rail they're both clinging to. She flies towards Thirteen, which forces the Pro to halt her Quirk so it doesn't kill the student. As soon as this happens Ochaco remembers her training with Gunhead and uses martial arts to pin down the rescue hero. Yuga jumps atop her as well, and they handcuff Thirteen to pass the exam. From the monitoring room, Izuku notes that Ochaco was smart to use an advantage at close range, but Tsuyu believes Yuga may have said something that made Ochaco drop her guard. Tenya and Momo enter the room and Izuku congratulates them both on passing. They all watch as the sixth match between Principal Nezu against Denki and Mina begins. At Field Gamma, Denki and Mina strategies to take out the principal using electricity because they believe he's small and weak. However, Nezu operates a crane at a safe distance from them and starts knocking down buildings. His Quirk gives him such high intelligence that he can predict the chain reactions of everything he destroys. Denki and Mina try to run for the escape gate, but the principal stays one step ahead of them the entire time. He destroys all of their paths to the escape gate except for one. Even so, Denki and Mina run out of time before they ever even realize what Nezu was doing. They fail the test and prove their weakness lies in facing intellectual villains. Ochaco enters the monitoring room and is disappointed to see that Mina failed. Tsuyu asks what Yuga said to her during their match, but Ochaco becomes embarrassed and doesn't give a clear answer. The conversation is interrupted by the start of the seventh match between Present Mic, Kyoka, and Koji. Kyoka decides that they should head for the escape gate, but they are stopped in their tracks by Present Mic's incredibly loud and potent Quirk. She pleads for Koji to use his Quirk to ask birds to attack their teacher, but Koji says that won't work. Kyoka admits to herself that Present Mic is simply a better version of her own power and he continues to barrage them with continuous sound wave attacks that echo through the entire forest they're fighting in. Kyoka notices an ant crawling around that's unaffected by the sound and asks Koji if he can control it. However, Koji is far too afraid of bugs and runs away in fear. Although Kyoka is able to cancel out one of the sound attacks, the waves keep coming and they're unable to advance towards Present Mic at all. She asks Koji again if he can control bugs, to which he confirms and she pleads for him to do so because there is no other way. Koji notices Kyoka bleeding from her ears and recalls passing the entrance exam. He blames himself for running away the entire fight and decides to embody what Plus Ultra means as a U.A. student. Facing his fears, Koji asks the bugs to attack Present Mic from underground where sound can't travel while Kyoka comments on him talking. They do so and overwhelm the hero allowing Koji and Kyoka to escape. The students in the monitoring room comment on how harsh an ending that was, while Recovery Girl is disappointed her colleague was defeated by insects. During the eighth match, Mezo and Toru are pinned down by Snipe. They face off in a large corridor filled with large pillars to hide behind. Snipe throws a smoke grenade to fill the area with gas and destroys the pillar the students are hiding behind. Mezo moves away but notices Toru has stripped off her clothes. Realizing her plan, Mezo draws Snipe's attention and gets caught. This gives Toru the opening to handcuff Snipe. The ninth match between Hanta, Minoru, and Midnight begins next. Ochaco comments that Izuku should prepare for his upcoming test against All Might, but he replies he wishes to see everyone fight till the end first. Then Izuku abruptly notices Minoru running away from Midnight screaming about how his match-up is totally unfair. Hanta has already been subdued by Midnight's Quirk after saving Minoru at the start of the battle. Recovery Girl mentions that U.A. might not be the right place for Minoru because he doesn't have any long time goals. Minoru eventually stops running and recalls wanting to become a hero to impress the ladies. Midnight pursues Minoru, forcing him to continue fleeing. He remembers realizing after the U.S.J attack that heroes are heroes because of their actions. Midnight believes she has Minoru cornered, but he reveals that he was a fan of her and knows a way to defeat her. He states he put on a scared act to draw her away from the escape gate and reveals himself with Hanta's tape wrapped around his face to nullify Midnight's Quirk. She tries to whip him into submission, but Minoru counters with his special move: Grape Rush. He uses his Quirk to stick Midnight and her whip to the ground far away from the escape gate as Midnight is impressed by his ingenuity. Recovery Girl admits she was wrong about Minoru, as the young hero drags an unconscious Hanta through the escape gate, ensuring their victory. Ochaco motions to tell Izuku it's his turn now, but he's already left the room. He arrives at the stage where his exam will take place, and finds Katsuki waiting there. They don't exchange any words as their battle against All Might approaches.

The last match of the final exams practical begins between Izuku, Katsuki, and All Might. Izuku stems the nerve to try and formulate a plan for escaping, but Katsuki refuses him and claims that he will defeat their opponent himself. Izuku continues to try and plead for Katsuki to reconsider, but the latter strikes Izuku and demands he stop speaking. Their argument is interrupted by a Texas Smash all the way from the escape gate on the opposite side of the replica city. The wind pressure from his attack tears the street of the city apart and alerts the duo to his intimidating presence. All Might leaps into action, prompting Izuku to flee even though Katsuki stands firm. The latter uses his Stun Grenade technique to blind All Might and moves to attack, but All Might stops him by grabbing onto Katsuki's face. Rather than try and free himself of All Might's grip, Katsuki focuses on using his explosions rapidly to counterattack. The explosions aren't powerful enough to hurt All Might, so he slams Katsuki into the ground before swiftly moving behind Izuku. Reminded of the Hero Killer's charisma, Izuku instinctively retreats. However, Katsuki moves to attack at the same time and the two end up running into each other. From the monitoring room, Recovery Girl notes that Katsuki simply wants to win while Izuku is only thinking of fleeing. Katsuki recovers and walks back towards All Might despite Izuku pleading otherwise. Katsuki states that he will win because that's what it means to be a hero. These words make Izuku recall their childhood together and he pleads with Katsuki again. Katsuki refutes him and All Might suddenly pins Izuku down using a piece of a fence. Katsuki's too slow to react and is sent flying by All Might's subsequent punch which makes him vomit violently. As Izuku looks on, he remembers when he and Katsuki watched a video of All Might defeating villains four on one as young children. Katsuki was so excited and inspired because All Might always found a way to win no matter what. Izuku admits to himself that he's always admired Katsuki's will to win. All Might confronts Katsuki and deduces that he's been fighting so hastily because he's angry over Izuku's improvement. He tries to encourage Katsuki to realize his potential but Katsuki states he'd rather lose then work with Izuku. All Might decides to finish him off, but Izuku swiftly intervenes and punches Katsuki away. Izuku yells at Katsuki to never say he'd rather lose and then grabs him before retreating into a back alleyway. Katsuki makes Izuku put him down, and the latter pleads one last time for Katsuki not to give up because that's not who he is. Izuku recalls a time when as a first-grader, Katsuki defended himself against two older kids because he believed the most amazing hero always wins in the end. Although Katsuki is angered, he reluctantly agrees to work with Izuku to achieve victory. When All Might passes their alleyway, Katsuki jumps out and distracts him. This gives Izuku the opening to get behind All Might and use one of Katsuki's grenadier bracers to blast All Might with a large explosion. Then they flee at top speed towards the escape gate using their Quirks. All Might is impressed with their teamwork and understands that fixing the tandem relationship is still a long-term task. Even so, he's determined to use this exam as a starting point for them and promises to do his best to school them. As the boys run, Katsuki states he is aware the attack didn't faze the Symbol of Peace and declares he will blast him the next time. Overhearing this, All Might catches up to them in an instant and questions his next plan before he quickly breaks both of the grenadier bracers. He knees Katsuki into a nearby building and grabs onto Izuku. When Katsuki recovers and tries to rush All Might, the number one hero slams Izuku into him, before pinning them both down. Katsuki ponders All Might's overwhelming strength and admits that All Might is the world's most unstoppable force. In the face of this adversity, Katsuki realizes he must push himself to overcome this wall. He uses his explosions at maximum output to blow All Might away. Then Katsuki grabs Izuku and sends him flying towards the escape gate. All Might counters with a New Hampshire Smash that nearly breaks Izuku's back. Katsuki flies at All Might, admitting that he was foolish for believing he could fight the symbol of peace without taking any risks. He blasts All Might with more of his super explosions, constantly injuring himself in the process. Izuku moves slowly towards the escape gate due to his injury, knowing that All Might will have to stop him, giving Katsuki an opening. However, when Katsuki capitalizes, All Might is able to ultimately defeat him. Even so, Katsuki bites down on All Might's hand and refuses to accept that he can't win the way he has chosen even if he has to destroy himself. Inspired by Katsuki's resolve, Izuku leaps into action and hits All Might with a smash. He quickly grabs his partner and makes for the escape gate. All Might notes that Izuku could have escaped alone, but it's always been the part of his being to help those in need. He goes on to say that in those moments where Izuku is rescuing others, there isn't an obstacle hard enough to can stop him. Together Izuku and Katsuki pass through the gate and pass the exam. In Recovery Girl's office, she heals Izuku and Katsuki while berating All Might for hitting them too hard. All Might muses over the boys' performance, proud that they can both grow stronger because they smile in the face of adversity. Meanwhile, at the League of Villains' hideout, Kurogiri questions Tomura's interest in Izuku. Giran interrupts them and introduces Tomura to Dabi and Himiko Toga. Dabi tells Tomura he's much grosser looking in person, and Himiko is excited to join the League of Villains.

Tomura demands Kurogiri to remove the new recruits from their hideout because one is a rude guy and the other a bratty young girl. Kurogiri pleads for him to reconsider because Giran brought them there to become members of the League of Villains. Giran says he doesn't care what happens as long as he gets his commission and asks that he at least introduce the recruits first. First, he introduces the young girl as a rogue criminal on the run from people investigating several deaths. She says her name is Himiko Toga and that she wishes to join the League of Villains to become like the Hero Killer: Stain. Next, Giran says that the man hasn't done any flashy crimes but holds true to Stain's ideology. Dabi admits he feels uneasy about the group's motivations and questions whether they'd really let someone as crazy as Himiko into their party. Tomura asks the man for his name, but he simply tells Tomura he goes by Dabi, and will only reveal his true name when the time is right. Dabi goes on to say that he will follow the Hero Killer's will, annoying Tomura. Tomura complains that everyone is too hung up on Stain and attacks the new recruits. They retaliate in self-defense but Kurogiri uses his Quirk to stop them from coming to blows. Kurogiri tells Tomura to calm down because the League of Villains needs new recruits and it's best to do so now because Stain put them in the spotlight. Angry, Tomura storms out of the hideout. Giran says that he's too young and his recruits add their complaints about him as well. Kurogiri asks that they wait for an answer at a later date because he believes thanks to All Might and the Hero Killer, Tomura will find his own answers soon. At U.A. High's Class 1-A homeroom, those who believe they failed the practical section of finals fear they won't be able to go to the training camp during summer vacation. Shota enters the room and reveals that everyone will be going regardless of their result in the final exams. He admits the teachers left the students a window for them to win and that all students must go to training camp to get stronger. He calls it a rational deception, upsetting many of the students who feel they were tricked. After class, the students look over the training camp brochure and many of them decide they need to buy more things to bring with them for the week-long trip. Toru suggests they all go to the mall together to shop which the class agrees to other than Katsuki and Shoto. Later on, Class 1-A meets up at the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall and find themselves almost immediately recognized from the U.A. Sports Festival. They agree to separate and meet back in three hours, leaving only Izuku and Ochaco behind. Ochaco suddenly becomes flustered after thinking about Yuga's words from their finals and runs off. Now by himself, Izuku is approached by who he believes to be another fan from the Sports Festival. After exchanging a few words, Izuku looks up and realizes he's been confronted by Tomura Shigaraki. Tomura came to the mall looking for answers to the difference between himself and Stain. He sits with his hand pressed around Izuku's neck and threatens to kill him and many innocents if he resists. Tomura tells Izuku he's irritated that the Hero Killer has received all the attention that he desires for himself. Tomura states that Stain destroyed what he didn't like just as he has and asks Izuku what the difference is between the two villains. Meanwhile, Ochaco mulls over her poor decision to run from Izuku. She convinces herself that there's nothing romantic between them and decides to go back and apologize. Izuku admits that he doesn't agree with or understand Tomura. Although he didn't agree with Stain, he still understood the Hero Killer because they were both inspired by All Might. He also says that Stain never backed down on his conviction like Tomura did at the U.S.J. Tomura replies with a haunting smile and says that he believes he's made the connection between his hatred for Izuku and Stain. He believes he hates them both because of their connection with All Might and becomes excited. He tightens his grip around Izuku's neck while thanking him for opening his eyes. Ochaco arrives and tells the man unknown to her to release Izuku, but Izuku yells for Ochaco to get back. Tomura, not wanting to cause to much of a commotion now that he reached his goal, pretends to be a fan and prepares to leave, but Izuku exposes his identity to Ochaco. Izuku asks Tomura what All For One's plan is, but Tomura replies he doesn't know and proceeds to leave. As he walks back towards the hideout, Tomura decides that crushing All Might in connection with Stain's ideology will now become his conviction. Ochaco reports the incident and the mall is temporarily closed. Heroes and police are unable to find Tomura, and Izuku is brought to the station for a statement on the conflict. Izuku tells Detective Tsukauchi about the incident and gets dismissed. Outside the station, All Might checks up on Izuku. His protégé asks him if there are times when the number one hero can't save everyone, to which All Might replies that there are times like that every day. He goes on to say that gives more reason to stand and smile so that the light of the symbol of peace can remain lit in everyone's hearts. Izuku's mother arrives to take Izuku home and All Might discusses the possibility of U.A. students being targeted with the detective. They both agree that this time they will capture All for One properly. U.A. High's first semester comes to a close and summer vacation begins. At the same time, All For One tells his doctor that he's happy with Tomura's development. All for One plans to groom Tomura to replace him in the future.
