Episode 1

Echoes

In the 1880s Sir Richard Morton kills his faithless wife's lover and a hundred and twenty years later the skeleton is discovered when Morton's descendant Daniel and his wife Liz move into the house. Liz is convinced that the house is haunted and calls in psychic Matthew Hopkins to find out more. Daniel is being unfaithful to Liz meanwhile and history may just repeat itself as the ghost returns to punish him.

Favours

Jamie Holt,who escaped from prison ten years earlier and was never caught,is now a family man running a successful pub in the Pennines. Then Chaz Hadley,whom he knew in his criminal past,turns up and offers him money to kill a rival villain or else he will turn Jamie in. Having carried out the hit Jamie learns that his victim was an undercover cop having an affair with Chaz's wife,whom Chaz has set up to take the rap. Jamie kills Chaz but his troubles are far from over.

Episode 3

Stalkers

Children's author Hat Vezey is pursued by obsessive stalker Stephen Kite,who,having engineered a meeting,puts a video camera in her flat to observe her and follows her everywhere,declaring he loves her. Hat's background of instability means a prejudiced policeman will not help and then she meets Grace,whose daughter killed herself because Kite stalked her. Hat decides to kill him and arranges a date in a lonely spot in the country.

Episode 4

Suicide

Jill Craig is about to take the most extreme form of revenge on Scott Martin,whose bullying years earlier caused the death of her son. Jill befriends Scott and takes him on to do odd jobs for her. She shows him her jewellery,getting his finger-prints all over it so that it will look las if a burglary took place. Then she commits suicide, leaving him to take the rap for her supposed murder.

Episode 5

Contract

Simon, Anthony and Greg work in the city and are defrauding their company by stealing money. Their boss discovers this and so they engage Terry Cameron, a hit-man, to get rid of him. He explains that he will take his payment after competing the hit but the boss dies of a heart attack and so the three lads decide against paying Cameron.This is a very big mistake as he comes after them.

Episode 6

Landlord

Slum landlord Alan Willis lets a flat to student Clare but,when he finds her unconscious,killed by fumes from a faulty boiler,he persuades his wife to help him move the body into a car and fake suicide. However a friend of Clare's comes looking for her,requiring Alan to kill again. And then there is another tenant who seems to have guessed what happened and is blackmailing the landlord.. .

Episode 7

Justice

Tom Robbins spent so much time developing his business his wife Helen felt neglected and left him,along with their daughter Holly.She is now dating Alex, a policeman. One day Tom is attacked by a gang of youths after he has rowed with one of them for jumping an ice cream queue. Helen suggests Alx might be able to help but circumstances convince Tom that Alex may well have engineered the attack and he feels he must take appropriate action to obtain justice.

Episode 8

Cornershop

Mr. Patel runs an open all hours corner shop with his family but his life is made a misery by a thug called Ronnie Brown,who runs a protection gang and forces Mr. Patel to pay up. One day the shop-keeper accidentally kills Brown,who has pulled a knife on him. Inspector Duggan is curious to know what happened to Brown,given that he was last seen in the corner shop vicinity but Mr. Patel hits upon a fool-proof way of disposing of the body. It literally, really goes down a treat.
