George is snoring so intensely that Marsha sends him to the couch. When Belvedere goes away for a few days he stops. When he returns George starts snoring again. George thinks it's because of Belvedere he's snoring but the others tell him that's not so.
Episode 2

A tornado strikes Beaver Falls, adding to the tension between George and Mr. Belvedere after Belvedere takes it upon himself to edit a story George is writing. Things reach a head when a tornado forces everyone into the basement and a pool contest begins between George and Belvedere and neither of them will allow something like the weather to interfere with their competition.

Marsha objects to Heather being a cheerleader, but loosens up when she remembers that she herself was a cheerleader at Heather's age.

Wesley blames himself when his accordion teacher dies during a lesson; he wished something would bad would happen to him, and by coincidence, it did.

Kevin signs a contract for the prom agreeing not to drive if he drinks. He does drink, and comes to believe that people like him better while drunk.

George and Marsha renew their wedding vows.

When the paper where George works goes on strike, the family is without income so they must tighten their belts until the strike ends. Kevin, who just got a new car, is told he can't drive it without insurance, which they can't get for the moment. Heather wants to go to Europe with her friends but is told that she can't. Wesley decides to keep the bills from Marsha, but when their utilities are shut down they find themselves in a deep hole. Belvedere offers to forgo his salary and be a boarder and pay them. Heather and Wesley decide to have a garage sale, and Wesley takes something from Mr. Belvedere's room which he thought he wanted to sell and he sells it, and later learns it's a valuable item.

Kevin secretly joins the football team right before Thanksgiving.

When George orders a pinball machine for the garage, Mr. Belvedere becomes so addicted to it that he neglects his household duties.

Wesley wins a trip to Walt Disney World and gives it away, which impresses the whole family, but Belvedere is incredulous about his intentions; Belvedere and George set out to see who can make more on the stock market.

The Happy Guys of Pittsburgh honor George as their Man of the Year. They tell George to give a speech when they honor him. George freaks out because he has stage fright. Belvedere tries to help him get over it. Meanwhile, Kevin is paired with a girl in marriage class who's not exactly the kind of girl who interests him, and when he doesn't ask her to his father's ceremony, Belvedere points out how shallow he is.

Sensing that Mr. Belvedere is lonely, Wesley tries to find him a woman. He eventually takes Mr. Belvedere to the parent teachers conference at his school. At he meets a woman whom he connects with. But unfortunately for Wesley, it's his teacher, who like Belvedere can't stand Wesley's antics.

When Marsha does poorly on an exam, she decides to quit law school and go back to taking care of the house.

When George starts smoking again, he and Mr. Belvedere make a bet to see who can go longer without indulging in their respective vices; he gives up cigarettes while Mr. Belvedere agrees to give up junk food. Meanwhile, Heather's boyfriend Sean makes a pass at Marsha.

Wesley is supposed to play William Howard Taft in the school's Presidents' Day pageant, but an opening to play Abraham Lincoln comes up. The boy who was supposed to play Lincoln, Wesley's friend Danny, has been pulled out of school because he got AIDS from a blood transfusion. Not knowing anything about the virus, Wesley believes what his friends tell him about it and becomes afraid of Danny.

When George and Marsha are making their will, they need to appoint a guardian for the children. They choose Belvedere, but when they ask him, he declines. Later when George and Marsha go somewhere, they get caught in a snowstorm and take refuge in an abandoned diner while Belvedere and the kids try to find them.

Heather has a secret admirer, Wesley is placed in an Advanced Placement class with a girl who is in love with him, and Kevin joins a band.

Kevin is scheduled to take the SATs and starts feeling so much pressure that when he meets an Amish girl named Rachel and sees how she lives, he reconsiders taking his SATs. Meanwhile, Wesley has the flu and George gives him a bell so that he can call Belvedere when he needs things.

George wants a romantic dinner for two with Marsha, but she needs to study for a test so Mr. Belvedere takes her place. George admits that he's afraid that once Marsha receives her law degree, she'll leave him.

Mr. Belvedere directs Wesley's school production of "HMS Pinafore" when the teacher falls ill. Wesley is cast as the lead, but Mr. Belvedere discovers a shy boy named Tommy with a far superior singing voice and Wesley is replaced.
