Nicola and Charlie Buchanan own their own company, ToxiClean, and specialize in cleaning up crime scenes. They're called in to clean up a hotel room where the well-known motivational speaker Marty O'Connor was killed. A high-class call girl who goes by the name Frederika walked into the room to find room service employee Dan Buxton standing there with a knife in his hand. Buxton claims he had been knocked unconscious by someone unseen. Apart from the room service employee O'Connor's manager Cate McVeigh may have had her own reasons to want him dead. Nicola and Charlie are intrigued by the case and check into the hotel themselves to see if they can solve the crime.

A Dog's Life

After banning some local dog walkers from walking their pets on his golf course, Pete Skinner was mauled to death by a dog in his home. After having a look around the house, Nicola - who is terrified of dogs - can't help but wonder why Skinner ran up the stairs in his house rather that run outside. Their investigation reveals that the widow, Jackie Skinner, is having an affair with her dead husband's business partner, Mark Boydell. Then there's Dwayne Nash, an ex-convict who owns Bruno, a very large dog who he likes to take for walks on the golf course. A case of mistaken identity complicates identifying the killer.

Charlie and Nicola clean up at a fashion show after designer Jonah Elroy is struck on the head by a ceiling mirror that comes loose and strikes him in the face. By all accounts, he was disliked by almost everyone but when interviewed, the staff all describe him as a pussycat. Someone had a go at Elroy's Jaguar with a can of spray paint and he was also being criticized by animal rights activists objecting to his use of fur in his clothing designs. They find evidence at the scene that suggests one of the activists may have been at the show. Flowers and a missing pair of shoes are the clues to solving the crime.

Atlas Drugged

Nicola and Charlie clean up at a local gym where body builder Anton Cheresniak was found burned to death on a suntanning bed. They believe someone used the weights in the gym to move the body. Also, his brother Greg, a medical student, urgently wants to get into his brother's locker which raises suspicions. The police find several suspicious letters at Anton's house. When Charlie gets hit on the head from behind, it's clear someone is prepared to go to great lengths to cover up what they have done. Bad grammar leads them to a suspect, but the case isn't as clear cut as they had hoped.

Lost Soul

Nicola and Charlie clean up at a local theater after the production's star, 27 year-old Linda Di Biasi, is found dead under the stage. The police think she died after a struggle during which she was struck on the head. Jim, the play's director, was sleeping with the star's understudy, Lucy, and rumor has it he was planning on giving her the lead part. The dead woman's husband Tom can't find her wedding ring and says his wife was having an affair with someone. Charlie finds a way in into the theater, via an underground tunnel, and a stash of cocaine. Among all of the suspects one is caught in an outright lie.

A lavish wedding is derailed when the best man turns up dead on the bride's family estate. The victim's romantic entanglements and troubled family business give Charlie and Nicola a list of suspects. Detective Vinetti's tie to the family complicates matters.

Nicola and Charlie's latest job is to clean up a murder scene at Cardwell Stables where the vet, Evelyn, bled to death in one of the horse stalls. Toxicology reports indicate she had been given a fatal dose of Ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, and then put her arm through a window and bled extensively. She then made her way from the clinic where she to the stable where she died. They soon determine that someone was actually stealing drug's from the vet's dispensary. They also find a high number of horse deaths and think its all part of a scam.

A young solo sailor just back from a year-long voyage becomes a murder victim in her home port. A horrifying crime scene and the focus on the sailor's alcoholic father as the prime suspect prompt Nicola to dive deeper and Charlie to find his sea legs.

Nicola and Charlie's next job is to clean up the kitchen at the trendy Razorback restaurant where its much loved but temperamental chef Bryce Cormack is believed to have been killed. There's no body but Cormac is missing and Peter Vinetti says no one could have survived that amount of blood loss. His wife Ariel says she received a call from him at 4:30 in the morning and a local pig farmer, Lincoln, later discovered the blood in the kitchen and notified the police. One of the employees, Rhys, has a record for attacking a previous employer. Nicola and Charlie aren't sure about Rhys and their inspection of the farm leads them to Cormack's kitchen hat. They also learn that Cormack was the father of waitress Matilda's unborn child. Cormack's spice rack and an odd attempt to clean up the scene of the murder scene provide the vital clues that lead to the killer.
