Armed with new information from Beppi, Rodrigo has to deal with an emergency concerning Alessandra, leaving Hailey to hold down the fort at the rehearsal hall all the while hiding the issue of Alessandra who is expected at the rehearsal. Hailey gets some unexpected assistance in her new role. While Rodrigo deals with the Alessandra issue, Rodrigo's New York life tries to catch up with him. Thomas goes in front of an audience different than what he is used to in his new musical collaboration. Back in New York, some of the orchestra members end up in a bonding session in a post-concert gathering of Cynthia reuniting with her former musical ensemble.

It's the day of Alessandra's concert, which has planned as the finale the modern piece which is new not only in her repertoire but in style. The event is scheduled to be broadcast around the world, so much is riding on it for all involved. Alessandra asks a question of Rodrigo through Hailey - believing he will be more truthful to her - the answer which may affect if the show will go on, at least from Alessandra's perspective. In combination with some news that Rodrigo receives second hand, the day will end for both Rodrigo and Alessandra much changed than it was at the beginning, and which has the potential to sit with both of them for the foreseeable future if Alessandra has her way.

Symphony of Red Tape

Many of the orchestra members who had overseas assignments have returned to New York, including Rodrigo, Hailey and Betty, partly to attend the christening of Virgil and Christoph's baby daughter. With Virgil being in the administration and Christoph in the orchestra, people representing management and orchestra members will be in attendance, they who are putting aside their labor problems for this one event. Thomas and Rodrigo, with Pavel's help, have other things on their mind. Now that he is no longer preoccupied with Alessandra, Rodrigo feels it is time to pay attention to bringing his family back together, he taking drastic steps for at least negotiations to resume which will give those not in direct negotiations to deal with other issues, including Hailey being able to confer further with Thomas about the next phase of her musical life. Regardless of the negotiations, Rodrigo takes further steps for the orchestra to have some place to play, the symphony hall which may not be an option having been contracted out to Melody Yang's bubble show. Meanwhile, Lizzie has a new idol and a new associated business purchased with the remainder of her inheritance.
