7 Episodes 1992 - 1992
Episode 1
If Arthur had just left things as they were, he'd be free. He shouldn't have broken his holiday and shouldn't have taken Maggie out of the nursing home, even if it was only for a drive. Once back in her own house, the rest was inevitable.
Episode 2
It wasn't all Robert's fault. If he hadn't upset his mother, Arthur certainly wouldn't have brought the budgie home, but the ten naked dentists dancing on a golf course at midnight would probably have been arrested anyway.
Episode 3
Maggie's having trouble falling asleep...causing Arthur sleepless nights too, for her fear of death has arisen once again. She begins making several arrangements for her death..which prompts her to think about her husbands funeral, and how little she did for him.
Episode 4
All Arthur wants is a nice, quiet Saturday at home, but Maggie believes a neighbour across the street stole her clock many years ago, so she returns to claim it, but is caught taking it. Arthur and Robert need to find a way to find out if the clock is genuinely hers or not. But there is something else up Robert's sleeve.
Episode 5
Arthur had no-one to blame but himself, really. Respite care for Maggie was all his idea in the first place, but he didn't expect Maggie to arrive home at that time of night or in that condition.
Episode 6
Secretly doing some babysitting during the day, Maggie gives away what shes doing when Arthur sees she's knitting a baby booty, but when he discovers the baby, he thinks she's kidnapped it from the shop. A visit from Robert and Liz prompts them to check on the baby and a letter that Maggie received in the mail for Robert leads Arthur, and eventually Liz, to think the baby is Robert's. Will Arthur find out what Maggie is up to?
Episode 7
All Arthur wants is to bring home a girlfriend for Sunday lunch, but convincing Maggie is the trouble. So he disguises his girlfriend as a distant cousin who is visiting the family, and this impresses Maggie, who just loves the family. Arthur gets the whole family together and lets Robert and Liz in on the secret, but they have a hard time keeping it from Maggie when an argument breaks out between Maggie and Liz.
