We remember the grand finale of the second season: Sophie's civil wedding ends without a ceremony, but in a wild chase, because it turns out that the registrar is none other than "Marilyn", the jewel thief who has already escaped Sophie several times. And right in the middle of this chase, the third season of "Mord mit Aussicht" begins. For Sophie, her wedding suddenly becomes secondary. She, Bärbel and Dietmar stick to Marilyn's heels, but she escapes them - once again. The police colleagues, however, are not so easily shaken off by the provincial criminal. But that's not all: While Sophie's father Hannes moves to Poland with Danuta completely unexpectedly, Sophie's almost-husband Jochen Kauth is losing his strength: The canceled wedding has shown him once again that although he wants a life with Sophie, it will never work out together. So Sophie ends up sitting alone in the forester's house.

Episode 2
47 mins
Even though Hannes, Danuta and Kauth are gone, the new loneliness in the forester's lodge is no reason for Sophie to hang her head, and so she decides to make things nice in Hengasch despite everything. Professionally, she is investigating the murder of Ines, Jan Schulte's cousin. The 21-year-old had been working as an intern in Hengasch town hall for several months, where her body was found. During the investigation, Pit, the dead woman's boyfriend, and Miss Berger, the jealous secretary of Mayor Hans Zwanziger, are the first to come under suspicion. Jan Schulte himself, who is obviously having money problems and who shares an inheritance with his dead cousin, is also targeted by the investigation. In the end, however, everything turns out to be completely different, because it turns out that the young woman was up to no good. In order to advance her career, she blackmailed the long-standing and established mayor Hans Zwanziger. With so many motives, Sophie Haas and her team have to work hard to find the murderer. When Sophie arrests the mayor, it's clear that Hengasch will need a successor. Wouldn't Jan Schulte be an ideal candidate? And the sleepy Eifel town is in a frenzy.

Episode 3

Sophie is so depressed about her failed wedding and her father's sudden departure that she is now letting everything slide. She no longer tidies up, she no longer cleans and she has no interest in her work. Not even in the new case: inmate Romanski has escaped from Koblenz prison and his escape could lead via Hengasch. At the police station, Bärbel is showing signs of fatigue as she has to stand in for her sick brother on the farm. Dietmar, on the other hand, is in a great mood, after all Heike is cooking his favorite goulash: "Spicy, but not too spicy." Then Dietmar receives the shocking news: the gangster has taken Heike hostage and is demanding "no police" and a getaway car. When Heike and Romanski start talking, she learns that the safecracker Romanski has escaped to save his marriage. Suddenly, the caring Heike shows a lot of understanding for him and offers the hungry hostage-taker goulash. When Dietmar hears about this, he is beside himself. Sophie manages to calm things down, stage a diversionary maneuver and overpower Romanski. And in addition to all the commotion surrounding the hostage-taking, Dietmar's mother Irmtraud suddenly appears at the door with her suitcases packed - much to Heike's horror.

Episode 4
48 mins
Sophie has overcome her slump and is starting a new relationship with her ex Kauth, namely a friendship. The Schäffers, on the other hand, are not having a good time, because Dietmar's mother apparently wants to stay longer. Her apartment in the neighboring town burned down and now that the property management is considering demolishing the whole house, she should actually look for a new place to live. But she doesn't. Bärbel still has her burden with her brother's farm, which is also slowly becoming apparent in the police work. The local amateur theater play by retired history teacher Kredder is being performed again at the Aubach Inn. The formerly strict teacher has been trying to find out about Hengasch's history for years and has already uncovered some interesting background information about the Eifel village. His latest project is still a secret. When he is shot with real cartridges instead of blanks during the performance of his play, suspicion initially falls on the shooter Zielonka. Eventually it comes to light that Kredder has been researching dark family secrets from the Nazi era. But who in Hengasch has something to hide? In the end, Sophie and Kauth of course fail to put their resolution to remain good friends into action. They do exactly what a couple who were almost married and now want to switch to friendship does: they end up in bed.

Episode 5
48 mins
Sophie actually wants to go to bed with Kauth, but then the doorbell rings. The egg man is there. Sophie is left breathless when she sees the handsome, young Rocco Meier. She now wants to spend an even more lustful time with Kauth, but he finds her lying on top of him "heavy" and besides, they should brush their teeth first. Sophie loses interest. Shortly afterwards, the beautiful young Rocco is found dead by Gerhard Ritter, who is walking. He apparently succumbed to a heart attack and then drove into a tree. Rocco's small apartment is full of expensive technology. How did he earn his money? The investigation reveals that egg man Rocco apparently took his job title very literally, because he was available as a mobile call boy for the neglected Hengasch housewives. Now the only question is which jealous husband got wind of Rocco's second job as a gigolo. At the Aubach inn, during an initial introduction by Jan Schulte - which Bärbel uses to distract herself from the stress of the farm with a date - the first confrontation between the two candidates for the office of the new mayor takes place: Jan Schulte and Hans Zielonka. And it quickly becomes clear that the decision between these two very different men will divide Hengasch.

Hengasch police work to resolve the who, and when, of a body found preserved in the peat of the swamp. The town of Hengasch is in the middle of a mayoral campaign. Bärbel deals with a life changing circumstance. The Schäffer household adjusts to Dietmar's mother living with them.

Episode 7
48 mins
It is the day of the mayoral election. Hermann, his singing brother, lies dead behind the Aubach Inn. In his hand he holds a ballot paper that has already been filled out - for Zielonka. Could the murder have been politically motivated? Heike has decided that a new wind should blow in Hengasch and so she supports Jan Schulte, who then wins the election. Zielonka is seething with rage and suspects election fraud, and the whole situation is rather stressful for Dietmar too, because he is caught between a rock and a hard place, or rather between "pussy" and his old boss. Sophie takes care of the case, but she simply doesn't get any further with her research into the men's choir led by Volker Mauck. Finally, Sophie finds out that Hermann's supposed brother Pit was actually his life partner. The two smart sheep farmers had built a new life for themselves as a secret gay couple in Hengasch. Then Hermann started an affair with choir director Volker and Pit got wind of it. Sophie and Kauth are actually back together, even if they pretend to each other that this is not the case. And certainly not to the outside world, because neither of them wants people to gossip about them. Actually, everything would be fine if it weren't for Kauth's slight jealousy of Schulte, who Sophie seems to be very interested in. Bärbel, on the other hand, has decided to have the child no matter what. But she doesn't yet know what to do with Timo.

Episode 8
49 mins
Holland in trouble. In the holiday park "The Paradise", which is almost exclusively inhabited and managed by Dutch people, the chip shop owner Jaap Mulders lies dead in a pool of "saté sauce". Initial investigations reveal that the mood among the bungalow park residents is rather tense. Lieke, the wife of the park operator van Uffelen, had an affair with the chip shop owner. However, it quickly emerges that Mulders wanted to put an end to the liaison. Was jealousy the motive? Sophie, Dietmar and Bärbel are "supported" in their investigations by Jos de Jong, a retired inspector from the island of Texel. Things are also getting tight for Sophie in her private life, however, because Kauth is apparently finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the new non-committal nature of their relationship. He decides to take the bull by the horns and puts pressure on Sophie by forcing her to make a decision. And that always backfires with Sophie. Bärbel decides against a relationship with Timo, who takes this quite calmly. And for Dietmar, the situation at home is becoming increasingly serious: Heike and Irmtraud constantly urge him to take sides in their respective differences of opinion.

Episode 9
49 mins
Dietmar has had too much fun at home, so he moves into the guardhouse for a while. The "village witch" Mrs. Rosen says that the long-dead Count of Havelstein appeared to her at his castle. For Hengasch, this means that the prophecy will come true: first darkness, then thunderstorms, then time stands still and in the end death will come to Hengasch. Sophie laughs at the belief in witches. Dietmar and Bärbel are scared. And behold. One after the other, the lights go out in the Aubach Inn, it starts to thunder and the clock at the guardhouse stops. When the death of the countess is then reported at the castle, Sophie begins to investigate. At the castle, Bechermann determines that the dead woman probably had a heart attack. However, the dead woman's wide-open eyes indicate a great pre-mortal terror. When Dietmar finds out that the countess wanted to leave money to the manager Tölke, who in turn is addicted to gambling, it becomes clear that Tölke and the housekeeper Waltraud have been working together. Sophie, on the other hand, is kindly driven home by Jan Schulte after her car breaks down. The subsequent tour of her property ends in Sophie's bedroom, helped by the predicted thunderstorm. Sophie enjoyed the night and would like to continue it, but Schulte realizes that he does not want a relationship. Sophie reacts completely irritated, because she had not even thought about a relationship.

Episode 10

In order to get angry with her best friend Doro about the conceited Schulte, Sophie goes on a hiking trip that ends at the Hotel "Traube". There, Sophie is sure that she witnessed a murder and, although there is no body, she does not give up. Eventually she discovers that the hotel is a popular meeting place for city women who long for amorous adventures with the male population of the Eifel. Among them are masseur Würselen, kiosk owner and naked cleaner Assenmacher and the former baker Lindenhofen. But suspicion initially falls on none other than Heike Schäffer, who has also booked into the Hotel Traube under a false name. Sophie and Schulte get closer again - but this time it is Sophie who sets the pace. Dietmar and Heike make up again and Irmtraud moves in with Aunt Klärchen.

Episode 11

Willich, Saint Martin's horse driver, is shot during the St. Martin's Day parade. Jan Schulte, who was playing Saint Martin during the parade, is shot in the procession. But who was the assassination attempt aimed at, Schulte or Willich? On the one hand, no man in Hengasch is particularly fond of the womanizer Willich, as he has hit on pretty much every woman. On the other hand, Schulte's unpopular decision to build a new daycare center has drawn the wrath of the conservative people of Hengasch... and what role does the masseur Würselen, who we already know, play in this, as he apparently once stole Schulte's girlfriend? Sophie and Schulte now live together like a real couple and simply have fun. Sophie especially likes the fact that, unlike Kauth, Schulte does not put any pressure on her. Irmtraud is back at the Schäffers', having quickly fallen out with Aunt Klärchen. Dietmar doesn't hesitate for a second and asks Zielonka to rent her his granny flat.

Episode 12

The band "Fraktus" consisting of Torsten, Dickie and Bernd, stops in Hengasch after their performance at "Rock am Ring", which ends in a wild and drug-filled party at the Aubach Inn. And Sophie and Schulte are right in the middle of it all. The next morning Sophie wakes up: blackout. And to make matters worse, roadie Gonzo is dead in the flowerbeds. His pregnant girlfriend Cherry is devastated. During her investigation, Sophie has her hands full trying to get the childish egomaniacs from "Fraktus" under control and solve the case. Which isn't exactly easy for her, after all she can't remember anything. Dietmar, on the other hand, has got the idea in his head that he could be Zielonka's illegitimate son, because since his mother has been living with his former boss, the two autumn crocuses have been getting on remarkably well with each other and, above all, rave about the past.

Episode 13
48 mins
It is Christmas Eve in Hengasch and like every year, Sophie is planning to spend the holidays in the sunny south with Doro and her friends. She also applied for a vacant position at the Cologne Criminal Investigation Department weeks ago and is hoping to at least be invited to an interview - which in turn puts Schulte in a bit of a bad mood, because Sophie obviously doesn't really want to live in Hengasch. No, she doesn't. Absolutely not. The deadline for applications is today, December 24th. Like every year, Zielonka is supposed to play Santa Claus at the kindergarten, the country women's group, the town hall, etc., but he just doesn't show up. Sophie takes on the matter and it turns out that Zielonka was actually kidnapped by Nattkemper. When Sophie is intercepted by the postman in front of the town hall, who returns her application for Cologne - with insufficient postage - she comes under pressure: If she still wants to apply for the job, she should actually drive off right now to hand in the envelope in person. But then she would leave the kidnapped Zielonka hanging. In the spectacular finale, in which Sophie, Dietmar, Heike, Zielonka, Irmtraud, Kauth and Schulte first overpower Nattkemper in a small forest hut and free Zielonka, and then help the foetal Bärbel with her delivery, Sophie decides to do the impossible: to hand in her application in Cologne in time. Will she succeed?
