The Blue Moon staff show they're happy that the show is on again for another season with a song and dance number. In utero, Maddie's baby is given an introduction to his future life. He decides he is not happy with all the fighting between Maddie and David. David decides to interview some women to be the baby's au pair but Maddie is not happy that they're all young and busty. Maddie has her baby shower during which she suddenly is rushed to hospital.

After the loss of the baby, Maddie and David have been avoiding each other. David, in particular, spends his days away from the office. Herbert sees it as a chance to better himself. Agnes arranges for David and Maddie to be stuck together alone in a lift and they come out happy. The agency gets a case where a woman wants them to find out about a mystery woman in her husband's past. They find out that she died in a car accident 10 years ago. Then the current wife dies in the same manner. This leads to a pursuit in a hot air balloon.

A woman approaches Blue Moon to find out whether the man she is living with is really her husband. She had married him 10 years ago but he disappeared before suddenly reappearing a few months ago claiming to be her husband. Apparently he had been in a Mexican jail. When her husband appears to have been killed in a car bomb, it seems that he had a criminal past. Then the wife is murdered. David and Maddie are on the case.

Agnes is suffering from beard burn on her face from Herbert. He offers to shave his beard off publicly in the agency. The agency is asked by a man who had failed plastic surgery to found out if his operation was a deliberate, unethical act of sabotage. Maddie goes undercover to the surgeon to find out what happened. Meanwhile, David works on the receptionist. They then follow the surgeon and find out that he is having an affair with the patient's beautiful wife. Then the surgeon is killed and there are a number people who wanted to kill him.

A woman shoots and wounds her boss after he sacked her because she wouldn't sleep with him. Maddie investigates her story that appears to be a case of sexual harassment. David takes the side of the boss, in opposition to Maddie. Then the whole staff of Blue Moon see it as a challenge and a battle of the sexes, with the women siding with Maddie and the men with David.

A divorce lawyer hires Blue Moon agency after she has doubts after arranging the divorce of a couple. She wants to know whether the husband is really having an affair. Maddie and David follow the couple and find out what is really happening. Maddie presents David with a car from Blue Moon, which he doesn't particularly like. So he tries to arrange for it to be stolen but Bert is too good and prevents it being taken.

But there are more twists before they reach the end.

A man, Ash, who is dying comes to Blue Moon claiming to have committed a perfect crime 25 years ago. He wants them to prove that he committed the robbery from a museum. Ash wants Maddie to find a security guard who was on duty and has information that will prove to the police that he did it. Maddie refuses but David wants to them to take the case. They manage to solve the crime but then the man throws a spanner in the works by coming to them to say he isn't dying and he wants them to stop.

Maddie's cousin comes to town and David is smitten by her, and she is very interested in him. They spend a lot of time together and end up in bed, which upsets Maddie as her cousin is married and she is still confused about her feelings for David. Bert comes to Blue Moon with a case for them. His accountant has some suspect transactions that need investigation. David gives the case to Bert to solve, and he goes overboard as only he can.

Agnes is apprehensive about meeting Herbert's family at a party and then she is also called up for jury duty. The case, which appears to be a crime of passion, has parallels to what has happened between David and Maddie over the years. Agnes is the lone standout in the jury and thinks the man is not guilty of strangling his partner. She then misses the party because she is sequestered because of the impasse. Herbert's relatives think that Agnes is figment of his imagination. To break Agnes' deadlock, Herbert decides to solve the crime.

After a cooking class, Maddie witnesses a murder, after which the killer tries to murder her. She is given a police bodyguard to protect her round the clock. David's romance with Annie is continuing, despite Maddie's misgivings. Herbert doesn't like the look of the detective and David is not happy with him either. When Herbert investigates further, he finds out that his suspicions are well-founded and then David finds out the police officer is associating with criminals. However, it turns out that there are a few bad apples in the police department.

Agnes proposes to Herbert and he agrees, although he has some misgivings. David is asked by Agnes to give her away and he is also going to be the best man. Annie's husband, Mark, turns up and throws a spanner in David's life. He hires a detective to find out what Annie is doing but the detective gets the wrong idea and thinks Herbert is having an affair with Annie. David conspires to make Annie to return to her husband.
