Cold War Part 1

Fri, Nov 7, 202542 mins

There has been an eleven month freeze in Emily and Sam's relationship, ever since last Christmas as Sam didn't feel like he could trust her, especially with Violet, without Emily answering questions about her past, questions she didn't feel like she could answer for him. With the Christmas season approaching again, Violet, unaware of the issue between her father and Emily, is hinting that she'd like her old job at the Mistletoe back. Emily feels compelled unofficially to look into the "disappearance" of someone important in Violet's life, her English teacher, Tim Henley, the double quotes as he is not officially missing in having abruptly submitted his resignation to deal with a personal issue. He became an even more integrated part of her life as he was the coach of the school's chess club, its star player, Kyle Granger, on who Violet has been crushing and who Mr. Henley had asked Violet to tutor in he failing English, a failing grade which would preclude him from being on the chess team and thwart his chances of receiving a scholarship. But as Emily investigates and believes foul play has indeed occurred, she has to convince Sam of Tim truly having disappeared, before she can insert herself into an official investigation.

And second, Brooke has signed her up to be a chaperon at the high school formal, which is still proceeding despite the murder investigation, the specific issues being where the body was discovered, and that Kyle is a primary suspect. The Ides of December - Part 1

Fri, Nov 14, 202542 mins

There has been recent renewed interest in Fletcher Grove's own Angela Wells, a struggling and reclusive artist when she was alive. Most of her work was destroyed in a fire in 1968, but whose renown only grew after her death through what works of hers survived the fire. The reason for this new interest is that her only surviving relative, biological granddaughter Moira Wells, an artist in her own right and who only recently found out about that biological connection in having been given away for adoption as an infant by Angela's daughter, has written a book, a tribute to her grandmother, and with its release plans on unveiling a long lost self-portrait of her grandmother, the only known image of her ever to have existed. This situation ends up affecting Sam personally as his first partner, Reid Donley, ends up being murdered in his security detail work at an auction house of some artwork, including that portrait of Angela. Combined with their professional history, Sam feels guilty in having turned down Reid's request to help with that security, which if he had done it feels that Reid may still be alive. With the actual crime having been committed in neighboring White Rock, the official investigation is being led by WRPD Detective Mike Meadows, who only allows Sam access to the case as a professional courtesy. But when Mike feels that Sam has overstepped that courtesy one times too many, Sam takes extreme measures to find out what happened to Reid, this time with official, at least on his end, assistance from Emily. At the top of their suspect list is social media influencer Harrison Crane, who always seems to be in the right place at the right time to get the inside scoop on Moira and Angela.

The Ides of December - Part 2

Fri, Nov 14, 202542 mins

The official unveiling of Angela Wells' self-portrait adds a wrinkle to Sam and Emily's investigation into Reid Donley's death, which Det. Meadows still believes is purely an attempted robbery gone wrong. That unveiling and Noah's research into Angela places more of a focus on Moira as a possible culprit. The collective try to find definitive proof of at least Moira's fraud and thus by association her role in the death. While Emily enjoys that she and Sam seem to have been able to get past their issues in working on this investigation together, it is tinged with a bit of apprehension as she learns that Sam has and is probably still actively looking into her past. Meanwhile, Violet, having felt pressure in Kyle implying that he got her the perfect gift for Christmas, followed suit in telling him the same in return. However, she was hoping more that inspiration would hit her in having no such gift, she turning to friends and family for what end up being what she considers less than inspired ideas on that perfect gift.

Twas the Fight Before Christmas - Part 1

Fri, Nov 21, 202542 mins

Emily and Violet have signed up as a team for the Elf Trivia Night at the diner, the $200 winning prize, already in Violet's mind as theirs, which Violet plans to use for her immediate future. Meanwhile, Ray's friend Danny Hanson is in the process of opening a high end restaurant in Forest Grove, and as a favor Ray asks Emily to be a consultant of sorts to the traditional French chef Jean-Marc for the menu for a Victorian Christmas by invitation only opening event for the restaurant. What Emily walks into is a proverbial mess where everyone from the restaurant staff to the contractors to Danny's wife and business partner Lauren to even Ray seems to be at Danny's throat all related to lack of money issues. What Emily does not foresee is that Danny would be found dead outside the restaurant the following morning in what at first glance appears to be a fist fight gone wrong, Danny looking to have died from exposure in being outside for the night. For various reasons, Ray, as part of this case in being a possible suspect, asks a further favor of Emily, which places her in a difficult position in trusting Ray while wanting to keep to her vow to Sam. Adding to the complications is the addition of an outside party with close ties to Sam and Violet.

Twas the Fight Before Christmas - Part 2

Fri, Nov 21, 202542 mins

In a time conflict, Emily believes it is more important for her to attend the Victorian Christmas dinner to advance her and Sam's investigation into Danny Hanson's murder in a so far "he said/she said" scenario, as all the suspects will be there. That leaves Violet an orphan for the Elf Trivia night, giving her extra time to spend with her mother. That time may make Violet need to advance the uncomfortable conversation they will inevitably have regarding Violet's decisions about her future. In the process of the investigation, Emily and Sam get into a predicament, which may affect how their relationship moves forward if they make it out the other end alive.
