It's the busiest time of the year for Emily at the store as it's actually the Christmas season. But her focus changes away from the store and Christmas when she meets Sam, who she learns is new employee Victoria's father, but he approaching her in his official capacity as a police detective investigating a murder at the local Christmas tree farm. While there is some implication by Sam that Emily is under investigation in having an indirect tie to something at the crime scene, she is more concerned about someone who she considers a friend who would most likely be Sam's primary suspect, that friendship despite Emily not having known her very long. As such, she can't help but do some investigating on her own without Sam's knowledge, she turning to old ways in that clandestine investigation.

Despite Sam's objections, Emily continues to investigate Marcus' murder on her own in order to vindicate her friend June, who is currently in custody charged with the murder. Emily knows that it cannot be coincidence of what has Gordon currently in the hospital. With she also believing that Lizzy being at the tree farm the night of Marcus' murder no coincidence, the missing link between all three seems to be Trent. But some additional information from Ray provides her additional aspects of specifically Marcus and Gordon's tie to investigate. Meanwhile, rumors make their way to Victoria that her father has a new woman in his life.

Episode 3
Thu, Nov 14, 202442 mins
With Marcus' murder solved and June out of jail, Emily wishes she could just return to her new life and all things Christmas and continue with her online scan, the latter associated with recurring nightmares concerning her old life. But a new issue emerges when a group of carolers comprised of members of the competitive choir, the Snowbelles, sing outside the store. An incident during that caroling session that could have been much more tragic is when Emily learns that the choir has been plagued with a series of such incidents, with one such resulting in the death of their lead singer Clara Jameson, namely in a hit and run in the town of White Rock. Emily doesn't think that they can all be coincidence, with Sam having no need to investigate as Clara's death was outside of his jurisdiction and this latest incident showing no indication on its own that is was anything besides an accident. Somewhat with Sam's blessing in he acknowledging her invaluable assistance in solving Marcus' murder, Emily decides to join the Snowbelles herself to get an insiders perspective of what's going on. What she finds is a disparate group with no seeming real friendships, the members including director Vera Van Dorne who doesn't seem to care much about the choir itself in the post Clara era, new lead singer Debbie Brannigan who seems now to be the choir's new driving force, and a plethora of other members who are aiming for that lead singer position, most specifically Brooke. This insider's view leads to Emily believing that indeed these incidents were all not accidents, and that the perpetrator, a murderer, is one of the choir members.

Episode 4
Thu, Nov 21, 202442 mins
Things with the choir investigation take several turns. Debbie is temporarily out of commission in someone again having taken what appears to be a targeted hit against her, leaving the solo position open for the upcoming tree lighting ceremony performance. Adam, Clara's husband, has gone missing with his truck found at the side of the road in what appears to be an accident of some sort. And an unknown person breaks into the store, Emily uncertain if it has to do with choir, with her past, or is just coincidental in being a random break and enter, albeit one where the perpetrator was able to pick the lock but did not discover the item Emily most cherishes that she had hidden. Emily, officially in working with Sam, is tasked with scoping out the choir members, Lance the most obvious suspect in Emily having noticed a prison tattoo on his arm. Discovered relationships between some of the players, and hard evidence as to peoples' whereabouts when Clara was killed may narrow down that suspect list.

Episode 5
Thu, Nov 28, 202442 mins
The message from Chimera on her computer stating that they know she is "there" pervades Emily's thoughts during Fletcher's Grove's annual retailers Christmas party being held at Sue's Diner. Those thoughts change with a last minute surprise arrival, Glenn Shaw, the crotchety bookstore owner, with gifts in hand, most people who just assumed that he would be a no show in most people, except Emily, not liking him. The person who has the most conflicted feeling about him is his nephew Fred Johnson, who works at the store, who loves him for being family, there for him in a time of need, but who manipulates his life as witnessed by Fred's wife, Morgan Johnson, who has a more definitive dislike for her uncle-in-law. Just as who was assumed to be Fred leaves the party, his murdered body is discovered in the diner's basement store room by Sue. What makes the situation more unusual is that Glenn had enclosed a meeting invitation for the next day at the office of his long time lawyer, Talia Greer, to a number of the gift recipients, namely Emily, Fred, Brooke, someone Glenn knew from the city named Harvey Saltzman, and an unknown fifth who is a no show. That fifth is assumed to be Sue, who, in her dislike of Fred including long having banned him from the diner, just threw her gift in the garbage. What they discover via a pre-recorded video is that Fred may have predicted his demise and has mapped out a treasure hunt for them using the copies of "A Christmas Carol" he had given each of them, he implying a monetarily lucrative prize at the end, most assuming it to be one of the valuable first edition rare books, probably of "A Christmas Carol", he had kept on display in the store. Discovering the meaning of the first clue, Emily is eventually able to convince the other three, plus Morgan, to work together, Emily's end prize not being the money but figuring out the mystery. While Sam works on the murder investigation and shadows Emily on the treasure hunt just in case, he tries to insert himself into her personal life following what was their previous moment together which Emily has told herself cannot happen again due to her past.

With Glenn's Christmas treasure hunt, the participants, under Emily's lead, figure out that one specific person in their group is the key to the clues, and that everything centers around A Christmas Carol's three ghosts, past, present and future. What they don't yet know is how Fred's estranged older brother Noah Johnson figures into the matter, he who is currently behind bars. Factoring into what happens with the treasure hunt is a close call experienced by both Emily and Fred. After definitively discovering the fifth invitee and having him/her join the hunt with his/her book, Emily, in going through the process, comes to a settled point about this, her new life in Fletcher's Grove.
