Episode 1
Fri, Jul 21, 202332 mins
In Doug having given Minx to Joyce in its entirety, the world should be her oyster in she having her choice of established publishers who are clamoring to have Minx among their catalog, their meetings which are a far cry from her original pitches to them with the exception of the older white male dominated executives having a largely similar mindset from publisher to publisher. However, she is for whatever reason hesitating on making a decision, which places Richie and Bambi, who quit Bottom Dollar to work for her, in a difficult position in terms of their own cash flow. In addition, Bambi feels the need to speak to Shelly about Joyce, despite Bambi having agreed to give Shelly her space in what is her and Lenny being in a better place in their marriage. Joyce gets sidetracked when she accompanies Richie on a side job to take erotic photos for private consumption. Meanwhile, Doug and Tina are floundering with Bottom Dollar's checking account having a zero balance not allowing them to print any of the magazines which are otherwise ready to go. In Doug being down, Tina has to decide not only if she will tell him but accept any of the offers from the business schools to which she's applied. Doug in turn has to decide if he will resort to trying to make amends with Joyce. He makes that decision to do or not to do so when he learns with who Joyce has recently met.

Bottom Dollar is hosting the high profile, somewhat taboo event of the Los Angeles movie going season, namely the west coast premiere of Deep Throat (1972). That taboo status is due to the movie having been banned in half the country. The presence of some A-list celebrities demonstrates to Doug that porn has gone mainstream. Even the publicity from the protesters at the event is a good sign. What is not a good sign however is that a series of unrelated events each in and of itself threatens the movie being shown. Doug's efforts to ensure the movie in its entirety is shown doesn't sit well with some of those at Bottom Dollar. In the process, Joyce has an idol as her captive audience. And one person who failed at the attempt not to attend the premiere is Shelly, her feelings the opposite of an excited Lenny. Their divergence is not quite for the reason she thinks.

July, 1973. Rolling Stone is doing an article on Bottom Dollar, unspoken mostly on its flagship publication, Minx, its editor Joyce, and her highly anticipated first book. As opposed to his money making job in charge of coming up with merchandise such as calendars and mugs, a job which he hates, Doug wants to use the opportunity to promote his latest pet project, Beyond, a science magazine, he even flying Carl Sagan out from the east coast as the magazine's editor and thus expert mouthpiece. With the core function of Minx, he is dismayed to see Joyce's rather uncharacteristic non-confrontational behavior in front of the Rolling Stone people. She divulges it's because of the journalist sent, Simon Michaels, who she fears will take any little thing said or done in his day at Bottom Dollar to be twisted in a way to ruin her and Minx, he having done so with many a powerful person including world leaders. Things are only complicated by Constance's presence, she who still has control in saying yay or nay to anything via her money. As the day progresses, Joyce may get a slightly different perspective not only about dealing with Simon, but about herself as the generally uptight person she is, especially in being the fish out of water in what Bottom Dollar was and still is. Meanwhile, Shelly and Lenny have settled into a new seemingly happier and loving phase of their marriage. That may all change when Shelly discovers something unfamiliar to her underneath their bed.

Episode 4
Fri, Aug 11, 202332 mins
Joyce is enjoying her newfound looser, sexier life, which includes dating a rock star while he's in town. Constance feels that Joyce needs a new outside to match her new inside. Richie is running behind on his latest photo shoot in having problems getting Joyce's attention and thus her necessary approval. The direction he wants to go may be more to his own sensibility than Joyce's vision for the magazine, especially after a previous comment by Constance regarding their advertisers. Shelly, having returned to Minx, is writing a story about her and Lenny's experience, although she has not told anyone about its autobiographical nature. But the biggest buzz at Bottom Dollar, or so he believes, is Doug's latest money-making idea, an event whose nature he has not disclosed. His sole in-house associate on the project is his new secretary Bambi who is equally as excited as him, but who believes they may be holding the cards about it too close to their chest in she not seeing the excitement in the office. Facing issues with the event at the last minute, Doug calls in a reinforcement in the form of Shelly, she agreeing to help before learning that she would be working closely with Bambi. Even with this last minute hiccup, Doug is sure he will have a hit, which only needs to be confirmed by the finance and editorial departments i.e. Constance and Joyce.

Episode 5
Fri, Aug 18, 202329 mins
It's a battle of the sexes, literally and figuratively, on several fronts. Still stinging from Joyce's decision not to move forward with his male dance troupe idea, Doug is a little sullen in accompanying her to Las Vegas where they will be looking for a buyer of Minx's international rights. Beyond Vegas being the place where deals are made, they hope for some synergies in Joyce being part of a speaking panel of executives of women's magazines. Joyce is both surprised and a bit angered at seeing some familiar faces representing the other magazines. While Doug feels Joyce's behavior on the panel only hindered them finding a buyer, Joyce, with Doug's assistance, believe she has a way to make a bigger statement about what happened on the panel. Their trip coincides with the literal Battle of the Sexes, namely the challenge tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. Back in Los Angeles, Bambi was going to host a small viewing party, it overtaken by non-invitee Tina in wanting to tear down her new no-fun moniker in hosting a blow-out of a viewing party at the office. As such, another battle of the sexes takes place between tennis aficionado Shelly and chauvinist Dustin, one of the male models, who are taking opposing sides with unexpected consequences.

Episode 6
Fri, Aug 25, 202330 mins
The members of the Minx family are pairing up for their next respective sojourns. While there are some literal family members in Joyce and Shelly, the others see their collective in varying degrees of the term "family". Joyce has invited Shelly to accompany her on a VIP speaking engagement at her alma mater, Vassar. While there, Joyce plans to ask her professor mentor, who she believes shaped her both as a writer and a feminist, to write the forward for her upcoming book which is an extension of her college thesis. Doug is accompanying Tina to her mother's retirement party, he who plans to ask her to marry him. While he knows her family didn't like him when they dated the first time around, he has no idea that she hasn't told them that they are dating again which affects if and how he decides to pop the question. The reason for her hesitancy is that they blame him for whisking her away from what should have been her destiny of taking over the family business, a stationery store. And Bambi surprises Richie at the office on the weekend, she knowing he feeling underappreciated by the others. In working on updating his portfolio including his headshot, they both have somewhat the same idea of what should affect their time together. In all three of the pairings, things do not go the way that any of the six thought it would.

Episode 7
Fri, Sep 1, 202328 mins
Constance has invited Joyce and Tina to a retreat at one of her rural properties to "interview" candidates for editorial positions for Minx International, Tina who is still coming to grips about Constance naming her head of the division, not only about what it means for her professionally, but how it is affecting her relationship with Doug. A question becomes whether straight-laced Joyce will embrace Constance's unconventional interview strategy. With Constance, Joyce and Tina incommunicado, Richie, with Bambi by his side, faces a crisis when within twenty-fours to the print deadline for the next edition he has to pull the centerfold for reasons outside his control. Doug, who has been AWOL of late in feeling shut out of what's going on, is the only person with authority to approve a solution. Beyond asking Shelly to fill some extra space, writing on a deadline to which she is unaccustomed, Richie comes up with a Doug approved idea that had previously been percolating in his brain. What happens with Richie and Shelly within this situation isn't quite what each was expecting, and with Bambi what she wasn't hoping. With Doug back at the office, he comes across something which he feels threatens Bottom Dollar in its entirety. He has to convince others about his findings.

Episode 8
Fri, Sep 8, 202332 mins
Constance is holding a party centered on Joyce, the literal "woman of the hour" in lauding her role in the success of the magazine and the imminent launch of its international editions, Constance who has largely deferred to Joyce's judgment on contentious editorial issues. Before heading to the party, Joyce has to rectify Richie's latest design for the magazine at the eleventh hour to print, including what was the necessary change to the centerfold due to the "mamacide" as Bambi refers to the issue, Joyce's changes to Richie's changes which strengthen both Richie and Bambi's uncertainty as to their respective places at Bottom Dollar. Doug is preparing for what he is certain will be Constance's announcement of dissolving Bottom Dollar, which means his departure in being fired in the process. Constance does hold court individually with the senior staff including Joyce, Doug and Tina prior to the party. The "to dos" coming out of those individual meetings, the centerfold redo, and the party guest list among other things lead to many at Bottom Dollar coming to different conclusions about what is happening than they did at the beginning of the day.
