An old couple stops their RV for the night in front of the nameplate of Bucksnort village, in Montana. A man asks them to move the RV to let the plate visible. Out of the blue, they are attacked and slaughtered by a pack of dog. Frank Castle is summoned by the Millennium Group to go to Bucksnort to investigate the case. He goes to the Bucksnort Inn and finds strange villagers inside the coffee shop that believe he is the new sheriff and is warned to not get out after the sunset. Michael Beebe, who moved from L.A. to Bucksnort, is the only to talk to him and tells Frank that an insane old man has installed in a shack in his isolated real estate. After the sunset, Frank leaves the inn and is surrounded by the dogs. He hits one of them with his car and the old man recovers the body of the animal. He visits the old man in the morning and learns that he works for the Group. Further, the house of Michael has brought disturbance to the balance between the evil and the good forces.

In Seattle, a man asks for a cab and when he starts to bleed, the driver takes him to the hospital. Out of the blue, two men arrive at the hospital claiming that they are from the CDC and the homeless man is the patient zero infected by a new disease. However, the cab driver flees with the man. Frank and Peter join Det. Bob Giebelhouse in the investigation and when Frank find the homeless man, he delivers him to the two CDC agents. Soon he discovers that was lured and the agents are not from the CDC. Frank and Peter investigate further and find that the man was denouncing the Human Genome Project that is conducting experiments in Rwanda and using homeless people.

In Probity, Arkansas, the DA Gordon Roberts is investigating Miss Penny Plott, who has been the owner of the local daycare for many years and now is charged of child abuse. Frank Black is with Jordan at a department store buying sneakers for her. She throws a tantrum on Frank that reprimands her. Peter Watts asks Frank to go to Probity since the Group was hired by DA Roberts to trace the profile of Miss Plott. Frank poses as a father and visits the daycare, but psychologist Lara Means interrupts him since she was hired to represent Penny. Out of the blue, the boy Jason Wells stops breathing and dies. Meanwhile, Jordan bleeds while brushing her teeth and Catherine takes her to the dentist, who believes she was beaten. Frank, Lara and Roberts interview the children and Danielle Barbakow denounces Penny for Jason's death. Penny Plott is accused and arrested for child abuse but released on bail. Soon Frank and Lara find that both work for the Millennium Group and conclude that Danielle is the responsible for Jason's death. When they go to visit Danielle at home, she hits herself and accuses Frank of hitting her. Frank is arrested and his situation complicates when the dentist reports that Jordan may have been submitted to child abuse by Frank. Now Lara looks for evidence to prove Frank's innocence.

Frank Black travels to New York to help Sgt. Manny Walters in the case of an Indian found dead in a construction site. The archaeologist Dr. Liz Michaels has interrupted the construction since the place seems to be an ancient Indian cemetery, and soon she teams up with Frank to help the investigation. Frank believes that a group of Indians that work in the site are responsible for the death of the Indian Daniel Olivaw and they believe in a Native prophecy that foresees the apocalypse.

They believe the children have been kidnapped although they are from simple families. Soon they find the bus submersed in a river but without any corpse and they learn that a tornado is coming. Meanwhile, the kidnapper Matthew Prine and his accomplice force the driver and the children to hide in an underground shelter and note that one child is missing. However, Frank and the Sheriff note the same and head to the house of the missing boy and capture Prine that was abducting him. Now Frank asks Millennium's psychologist Lara Means to join them to interrogate Matthew Prine, who believes in a biblical prophecy and a nuclear war is coming.

Peter Watts asks Frank Black a personal favor and travel with him to Hamburg. They visit Dr. Schlossburg, who has spoken with Peter about his recent research of a preserved corpse recently found who might have been a member of the Millennium Group and might be connected to an ancient relic. However, when they arrive at the laboratory, Det. Josef Heim arrives at the scene with his partner, and they learn that Dr. Schlossburg was murdered. They are arrested but soon they clear their names. When they leave the police station, their car explodes almost killing Peter and Frank. However, Dr. Schlossburg is alive and protected by the police at the hospital. He tells Det. Heim that the man who wanted to kill him was Peter Watts. Soon Peter and Frank find that Dr. Schlossburg is at the hospital, and Frank creates a diversion and Peter meets the scientist that wrongly believed the hit man was Peter. When Peter leaves his room, the killers arrive and kill Dr. Schlossburg. Peter is framed and arrested without means to prove his innocence. Out of the blue, Cheryl Andrews arrives at the precinct and gives her phone number to Frank. What Frank and Peter do not know is that there is a traitor in the Millennium Group.

Meanwhile, Frank recalls his Christmas Eve, when he was a boy, and his mother dies. He meets Catherine and Jordan at the church and Catherine shows the drawing of an angel that Jordan has drawn and said that Frank's mother helped her. The drawing is identical to the one Frank drew with his mother on the day she died, and she realizes that Jordan has the same ability as Lara. He looks for her first and then he visits his estranged father to know what happened to his mother in that sad night.

Frank notes that the victims have a walnut in the throat, and they were tied up and have been gag. When they learn that the victims were terminal, Frank and Lara question whether the guy is a serial-killer or someone that feel sorry for the victims and help them to quit their suffering.

Frank Black is interviewed by Millennium associates and becomes angry when they question about his family. He leaves the meeting without fulfilling their expectation. He goes to a planetarium to meet Catherine and Jordan and Catherine introduces him to Mr. and Mrs. Glaser, whose son Alex disappeared in Alaska. Frank goes with them to their home, and they explain him that Alex traveled to Alaska as a gift for his graduation in the high school. Frank tells the Glasers that he will travel to Alaska to look for Alex. Frank contacts Peter Watts and he says that the Group will not support him in his journey. In Stebbins, he learns from Sheriff Bowman that Alex made several enemies with the locals buying expensive gifts for their wives and he saved him from a fight in a bar. When a fishing boat retrieves a decomposed body with its net, Bowman and the coroner conclude that he is Alex Glaser, but Frank disagrees. He finds the possible location where the body may have been dumped in the water and he flies to there expecting to find the teenager. Will Frank succeed?

Three teenagers are visiting pornographic sites, and they see the murder of a woman tied up to a chair broadcast live, and they print a screen before the site goes down. Peter Watts and Frank Black receive the picture and the reports of many people that called the police to report the killing. Peter questions whether it was staged, but Frank says that the killer is Avatar that he confronted when he was in the FBI. Frank, Peter, the nerd Brian Roedecker, the police and the FBI join forces hunting down the serial-killer. The victim is the librarian Rebecca Damsen and hacking her emails, the team gets other names that are also murdered. Now Frank uses his ability trying to find Avatar's next victim, but his is locked in an office and he needs to be in the field to a better use of his abilities.

A young couple is talking in the car about crimes committed in that area in the past and Kevin hears a noise outside. Kevin leaves the car to see what is happening and does not come back. When his girlfriend leaves the car, she sees Kevin dead, bleeding and hanging above the car. Frank Black and Peter Watts investigate the crime scene and realize that the murder is a copycat of previous murders. When they note that the serial-killer that committed similar killings, E. Jacob Woodcock, is inmate of a nearby psychiatric institution, they visit the hospital and Dr. Ellen Stoller receives them. She refuses to provide information about the inmates but let Frank interviews Woodcock, who says that the killing is similar to his murders, but he has not committed it. During the night, another couple is brutally killed nearby, and Frank notes that the murder is like the prior murders of the inmate Bear. He talks to Bear, who says that someone took something from his head. Frank is convinced that someone in the institution is committing the copycat murders. But who?

In Damascus, Syria, a group of men retrieve a crate from the cemented floor of a mosque. Another group attacks them and, in the end, only one named La Fur survives. He tries to smuggle the crate with a piece of wood inside, but a bomb explodes at the airport killing him. Another man, Helmut Gunsche, steals the crate with the wood. Meanwhile, the Millennium Group splits in two factions, The Roosters and the Owls, who believe in different dates for the end of the world. The piece of wood is the True Cross where Jesus Christ was crucified and now is in possession of the Owls. Catherine is invited to work at Aerotech International and is interviewed by Clear Knight. Lara Means sees an angel and researches the meaning of her vision. Frank returns home with Jordan and finds Peter Watts inside. They have an argument, and Frank quits the Millennium Group. Then he is stalked by two armed men.

Episode 16

Frank Black comes close to the car with the two men that are monitoring him. One of them says that they are members of the Millennium Group but soon one of them shots at him and Frank hits him. However, the other escapes and their car is found by the police abandoned. Lara Means finds that Peter Watts has suppressed evidence of Johnston's murder, and The Elder questions him. Peter says that Johnston may be conspiring to divide the Roosters and the Owls, and he wants to check it first. Meanwhile Catherine has a session with a co-worker that says that Aerotech International is part of the Odessa. Frank visits Clear Knight and has visions of the Nazis. During the night, Frank is visited by The Old Man and Lara Means, and he explains the history of the Millennium Group and also that the group has been infiltrated by the Odessa network. When The Old Man is murdered by the Odessa agent Helmut Gunsche, Peter Watts meets Frank and Lara and says that he is sorry. Now the Group retaliates the Odessa organization.

Episode 17

The U.S. Custom raids a Chinese cargo ship that is smuggling Chinese people and finds an Asian woman chained in a compartment. Catherine Black is having a session in the hospital with a patient and Jordan looks for a fountain to drink water. Jordan sees the woman in a room and tells her mother to help her since she will save her father. Catherine looks for Frank, who is working with Lara Means at home, and asks him to see the woman. Frank goes to the ship with Det. Bob Giebelhouse and they find four bodies in a crate on board. Bob, Lara and Frank interrogate the captain and crew to know what happened and they say three different versions of how the Asian woman came on board, but that she is the responsible for the deaths. Frank learns from Peter Watts that the Asian is Tamara Shui Fa Lee, who vanished in the sea in 1988 and is presumed dead. Frank interviews her alone at the hospital and has hallucinations how his life would be if he had not joined the Millennium Group.

The lesbian inmates Sonny and her pregnant partner Janette flee from prison and accidentally Sonny kills a guard. Frank Black and Peter Watts give support to Warden Kallard and Frank believes Sonny escaped because she wants to protect Janett. He studies her profile and realizes that Sonny is a needy and abused woman that has never been loved. Janette believes her pregnancy is without a father, although she was raped by a prison guard when she was numb due to anesthesia on the dentist chair. Further, Franks learn that Janette will bleed to death if she does not go to the hospital. The police officers want to kill them under the protest of Frank, who finds them hidden in a cargo train wagon and wants to help them. But the police arrive and want to kill them both.

Catherine Black travels to a small town in Washington to investigate the teenager Clare McKenna, who claims to have had a vision of Mary recently. On the arrival, she talks to the vice-principal Miss Shetterly, who believes in Clare. Catherine talks to Clare's friends that confirm the visions and when she is going to interview Clare, Lara Means is with her. Despite their dislike for each other, Catherine and Lara are forced to team up to find the truth about Clare.

In Oregon, a young man flees from a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere but is captured by a woman that hits him with her car. In Seattle, the high-school counselor Teresa Roe questions the intention of the teenager Howard Gordon to apply to the college since his grades are mediocre while his friend Landon Bryce tells Roe that she is a loser and to let Gordon applies. During the night, Gordon is murdered, and Bryce is abducted. In the autopsy, Frank Black learns that Gordon died of fear and goes to the crime scene, where he has visions of Lucy Butler, the killer of his friend Det. Bob Bletcher. Frank calls Peter Watts, who tells that Lucy Butler is under surveillance of Millennium Agent Olson, but Frank insists to see her. Soon they find the fate of Olson and that Lucy Butler is missing. Meanwhile, Landon Bryce is locked with the escapee that he calls Ben Gump since he forgot his name in a room where "L'Amour est bleu", played by Paul Mauriat, is uninterrupted played. When Frank and Peter learn that several teenagers have been missing along the years and the only person in common in all the cases is Teresa Roe, they bring the counselor to be interrogated.

Episode 21

Four devils meet each other at a coffee shop to drink coffee and eat doughnut, and tell their last evilness to collect souls to the others, with subsequent death of their targets. In all the crime scenes, Frank Black is present and seems to recognize each one of them.

Frank Black is visited by his former colleague, the retired FBI Agent Richard Gilbert, who invites Frank to join his security firm that works with former agents. Their meeting is interrupted when Frank is informed that her father has just died. He goes to the cemetery and needs to explain the meaning of death to Jordan. Later he unsuccessfully tries to contact Lara Means. Frank joins Peter Watts to investigate the death of Jason Mogilny nearby a river, where there are dead birds. Soon the coroner informs that Mogilny was infected by a virus and everyone who had contact with Mogilny need to be in quarantine, including Frank, Peter and the coroner. They are submitted to several blood test and Frank tells Peter that the Millennium Group knows about the virus. When he leaves the quarantine, he tells Gilbert that he will join his firm and asks Catherine to find a reliable doctor to have a blood test in secret. He learns that he had been vaccinated and tells Peter that the Millennium Group is a cult. But soon Peter tells him that an earthquake will happen during the night and Lara contacts Frank saying that the Group is no harm.

Episode 23

The house of the family that died due to a virus is sanitized by the Millennium team, and they find several dead birds on the grass at the backyard. Frank Black, Catherine and Jordan return to the yellow house, but Frank tells to Catherine that he will stay with the dangerous Millennium Group. He also receives the information that he has inherited a remote cabin in the woods from his deceased father. The Frank meets Gilbert to tell him that he will not join The Trust. Soon Frank is surrounded by several member of the Millennium Group and Gilbert dies in a car accident. Peter Watts use the computer of the Old Man to get information about the virus while Frank tries to contact Lara Means. Frank knows her whereabouts and tries to rescue her, but loses his cellphone, When Frank locates her, she is haywire, and the paramedics hold her. Framk and his family flees to the cabin of Frank's father trying to avoid the infection with tragic consequences.
